I mostly agree with Suvie. As a Martial Artist (and Nurse), I uphold certain values such as courtesy, politenesss, respect, humility, honesty. I think much if this is sadly lacking in today's society. What I disagree with generally is special gender acknowledgement, like opening doors for ladies. Please understand, I'm not at all opening doors for others, just that I'll open door for men as well as ladies. I'd gladly give up my bus seat for a pregnant lady, but then I'd also give it up for an old chap that was stuggling to walk up the bus on his sticks. Or a younger, disabled person. I'm not against courtesy, just against courtesy to groups where there's no basis. We live in a sexually equal society. Controversial to some. But honest.

For those that don't get it, its EARTH. Eastern elemental theory: Just as Water beats Fire, Earth beats Water. Its the Conquest Cycle. Its how Shiatsu and other such arts work, including Pressure Points in Martial Arts. So, Earth beats Water.

Welcome, Timmy. If you're a Pirate fan, do go check out the new-look Pirate forum. And all the others you metioned - Space etc. Star Wars is in the "theatre" forum

This is a cool thread. Darth_Ewok: that's no lady, that's the Prince of Darkness Ozzy Osbourne!

I had a warped piece in my Slave I. I called LEGO. No problems whatsoever. Really nice and polite and efficient. Never had this problem or any like before. Then a week later, piece missing from my tehnic Jango Fett. I didn't have the courage to call them again so close to the previous time in case they thought I was extracting the urine (they do record the calls). So I got the piece from Bricklink! I vaguely recall someone on FBTB saying they used the call ask for replacement stickers as they collected everything "mint". He explained there was nothing wrong with his stickers and he was just a collector and willing to pay, but they always sent more with no charge!

Splice The Mainbrace! Whatever the hell that means.

:-D That's good. But wouldn't the x-ray machine also show the skull of the little man, rather than the flesh?

I agree with much of what Sne said. Although a childhood LEGO fan, I only got back into it because of SW. I'm also getting into SW Transformers (also a childhood TF fan!) Yes, an X-Wing does look incongruous parked in your city car park. Unless you're building an Area 51 set! Not buying City, I can't say with any certainty, but I would imagine that Batman is probably way out of scale with other city sets. OK, so SW and themes like it have given us new pieces to integrate into our MOCs or for LEGO to employ to the best of their genius and imagination. But what use is a Jabba piece (for example)? This all said, I love my two Batman sets and look forward to getting more. And I hope the licence continues.

Hey >:-( Mudhole ? Slimmy ? My home this is !! :-D *yoda* :-P Hehe, number three of Yoda's most favourite quotes. I think it's really weird that Yoda lives in a small hut like the one from the movies. I know he's old and old that, but he still has the force to pull of something better than a 'hut' made out of mud in the middle of a swamp. You really need to read Yoda: Dark Rendezvous

The Imperial Inspection set had more than just "minor details": more MFs, a maintenance vechicle, some DS2 scenery. OK I'm not affected by having already had the Imperial Shuttle, but I think the II was a very worthwhile release. I really enjoyed it. Set most in need of an upgrade: AT-ST Second most in need: Sith Infiltrator (not OT, but majorly unfulfilling of potential) What's wrong with the Y-Wing? OK, maybe it could do with a minor overhaul, but again its smart. If the system-scale ISD is successful, I think a system-sclae Tantive IV in the same vein would be excellent.
-
I could understand it if say you got a UCS Executor and System ISD. They they'd be something like to scale. Otherwise, I see who'd buy them

It seems to me that everyone wants minifig packs but Hasbro prevent this happening. Now recent sets are minfig treasure-troves. How many did we get with the new new Slave I? With the Sailbarge? With the System-scale ISD? And now how many could we potentially get with the new new X-Wing? Maybe LEGO are trying to give us what we want - LOTS of minifigs, but in a way that won't cause agro. Be grateful! Now I'll wait for the complaints - yeah, but another LUKE, another HAN. Another C-3PO. As I said, be grateful and accept that new molds would up the price and give you something else to moan about.

I'd have thought you pro-ban. All in the interests of self-preservation and all! X-D

Are they Darth Vader helmets I see as shoulders?
-
I was being sarcastic. You see, on Earth (in a galaxy far, far away), sometime in distant future, the "sport" of Dwarf Tossing will become a banned activity in Australia, Canada and most States in America.

Batman sets, magnets and keychains in UK
captaintau replied to sam89's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
I got my Batmobile today via e-bay. Going to work in a few mins but I hope to review it in tomorrow afternoon when I wake up. Very short review - excellent set. -
Ewok tossing? Or is that illegal now?

No need to apologise, just me being an ar$e! As normal. X-D

While I agree with you that this is a great set, Captaintau, I do think there's still room for improvement. I agree totally with Yoda on things like removing the tan pieces, making it grey instead of white, swapping the red for dark red, and simplifying the wing-opening mechanism. I would also add: * A slight redesign of the engines: making the rear thruster part beefier (instead of just the little trans-orange radar dishes), and putting a T-bar across the front intake to make it more movie-accurate. * Making the rear end more hexagonal (lose the hinge piece and the little 2x2 dome). The X-wings have a very distinctive hexagonal shape from the back. * The top of the body: could have long tiles along the borders, and greebly pieces in the central area * A couple of inverse slopes on the underside of the wings, next to the engines * Long-shot: making the line from the nose to the windshield flatter (this is really unlikely since they'd have to do a new windshield mold.... and frankly, I'm not even sure I would WANT this, because I like the X-wing windshields. And I like my Lego vehicles to be a bit tall and stylized to fit minifigs.) Here's some pics to illustrate what I mean: Plus, add a Wedge and a Death Star trench turret, and I think that's plenty to justify a re-release! *sweet* Wow! X-O That MOC is so detailed, it doesn't even look like LEGO!

Just a further thought, not to argue: Would a ranking system ceate unnecessary and unproductive competition, or would be an incentive system to get more members posting and actively discussing as a result? As I said, just a thought.

Well, although swiss chocolate ranks high reputation-wise I personally see belgian and german chocolate (we have GREAT chocolates here! although very vile ones also... :'-( ) as far better than swiss made chocolate. I personally reckon the art of H.R.Giger, Cheese and Clocks as the best of export-goods Switzerland has to offer :-) OK, so if anyone wants to send me some Belgian, Swiss, Swedish and German chocolate, I'll gladly try each of them and write a comparitive review for EB. All impartial of course.

That's cool. Personally I'd like a SW tag. Not "Theatre" generally, but SW specifically. But then the counter argument is that I've already got one, in a sense. Lord Maul. If that isn't declaring my tastes, then what is?
