  1. Waves of space? That must have been and empty theme! :-D as you will find out one day, classic space has had several waves: sets completely changed in style, colours,... after three - five years, an entire catalogue had changed... but remained legoland space up untill 1990 I was trying to be funny :-|
  2. I did originally post that I wouldn't get this set. But with the option to make a Wedge Red 3, I may do, if its cheap enough. Could be part of quite a nice fleet. A thought occurs: We wanted Hoth sets and this is a Hoth set. A further though occurs: We wanted a Wedge and now we've got a Wedge. OK, we're all underwhelmed by it, but LEGO have given us what we wanted.

  4. Off course !! Especially in the dog fight sessions !! Thats why it has S-Foils (I never seen those types of wings on old grey and bulky spaceships X-D ) ARC stands for Aggressive Reconnaissance starfighter !! The ARC-170 fighter is a bulky, aggressive ship covered with weapons: 2 medium laser cannons, 2 aft laser cannons, 6 proton torpedoes and operated by 3 pilots !! A pilot handling the flight maneuvers, a copilot operating the laser cannons mounted on the ship's wide wings, and a tailgunner operating the dorsal rear-facing cannon. The fighter also carried an astromech droid for onboard repairs. So bring your puny missile launcher on :-P !! *yoda* i don't get it... one guy to pilot the thing, another for the lasers, a third for the cannons... hm... then who's doing the reconnaissance? in the space days, yoda, the astronauts were highly skilled and experienced. they didn't need three men to do a 1 man's job... oh well... they don't make them anymore the way they used to in the old days... :-P They also had an Astromech on board. As Yoda says, it's very complex craft. As for grey computers, SW craft have targetting scanners! One worrying thought about SW: "A long time ago..." there was a craft called the ARC!
  5. Yes Captain, your new space tag is beeing painted right now :-P And like I said previously, a tag is just a cool image that shows you appreciate a theme ;-) And it does not encompass compromising your first love ;-) *yoda* The first post seemed to almost condemn SW in favour of Space. Lets see now, references to space-people with no air tanks, too many X-Wings and Slave I's. Shall I go on? weeeeell... we probably won't be seeing any space as long as sw is around, so i guess we have the right to bash sw from time to time X-D Well, if want to talk about "bashing", I can't see the space sets holding up a missile launched by the ARC170 or TIE Bomber :-P hehe... do you really think an arc-190 is able to survive a direct hit from this baby? :-P That's a cool set *y* Where's the launching mechanism on it? :-P Are LEGO doing an ARC-190. Its not even in the movies ;-)

  7. The nose is awful. Otherwise, could be good on a shelf. D'you reckon LEGO will release the cockpit they have at Windsor as a set? I'm joking, but its smart

  9. Very nice *y* Any chance of Wily Kit, Wily Kat and Snarf?
  10. Well I love Space, especially early Space as I missed out on later generations (going through my "growing up" phase. Got over it now, thankfully). I'd love a tag, but if it means compromising my first love - STAR WARS. Can't have too many Slave I's. Jar Jars on the other hand...
  11. Unfortunately, I really can't see a good reason to buy this set. I really don't think its fair to compare this with the latest Slave 1. S1 was complete redesign, was bigger, packed more features and had nw uniques MFs. This new X-Wing has minimal alterations and possibly one unique MF, who is hardly inspiring anyway. It had so much potential, but all completely unrealised
  12. 6384. Sorry, it was only the new Fire Station thread taht had me sit and take notice. Voting for this (belatedly) for mcuh the same reason as I voted for the Fire Station that I did - it one of the first sets I remember having as a kid and I did loads with it. Put it next the same-age fire station (sorry, can't remember number) and they compliment eaxh other well - very similar design, height etc. I actually did have next to each other, joined by road base plates. SO, what next? Airport?
  13. They won't work in a drought!
  14. I've voted for 6382. Its one of the first sets I remember having as a kid. I've built it, had it broken into by burgulars (so the police could come) and had a plane crash into it so many times. Its lovely building.
  15. Explicit? Did you read the non-authorised version? :-P
  16. Nail polish remover! That reduces LEGO bricks to a mushy mess. I'm told.
  17. Ah, no fun! Its one way members express themselves Its nice to be different Though I don't usually, purely because I can't be bothered :-P
  18. Nice knowing you. It all ended so soon... :-D
  19. Off topic, but before anyone goes to Legoland again and intends buying a poncho for rain or water rides, look at this guys' offers: eBay seller Rain capes at Windsor were
  20. As much as I loved my Transformers, I'm just wondering if this has any place on a LEGO forum? Sorry to be Mr Negative. Nice job, though *y*
  21. So, what's the elastic band for anyway?
  22. Well, you posted earth, then Cutty posted a dwarf. In most fantasy stories, dwarves are known for being very good at digging, carving, mining, etc. I then posted a picture of a balrog, which is a fantasy creature from Lord of the Rings. In the books/movies, the dwarves dig too deep into a mine of their's, and awake the balrog, which if I recall correctly, along with some goblins, kills off all the dwarves. I hope that makes sense. I'm not sure I get Deino's though... BTW, I'm assuming you meant Cutty's and my pictures. I think Dark Avenger's picture just didn't show up. If that actually was his image though, I don't understand it... :-$ Thanks, Dillon. I did get teh dwarf one, it was after that, including Dark Avenger's, which has since been explained too. A Balrog, eh? Well I really shoudl get round to watching (or better yet reading) LOTR, but in the meantime, I thought Balrog was a Street Fighter 2 boxer! I suppose I'd better add another image:
  23. Would anyone care to explain the last three? Please
  24. I don't get the last two
