Disney Collectible Minifigures Series 1 Discussion
Dannylonglegs replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Licensed
Illuminati Confirmed. Why would someone go through the trouble of forging that fake one? There's clearly effort put into it. If it's fake, someone out there has no life. ~Insectoid Aristocrat- 4,155 replies

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
Dannylonglegs replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Really? I've never seen it before... ~Insectoid Aristocrat -
Yeah, I once tried to use tissue paper to colour the lights in a room for a party. I started a fire. Fortunately the smoke alarms weren't working, and no one really noticed. ~Insectoid Aristocrat

Yes, Thanks, Bob! Good call! I use my (used prior to purchase and abused subsequently) Galaxy Note 2's inbuilt camera, the light of the sun, a white poster board, and my arms to hold the camera steady. I edit in instagram, which gives my photos their characteristic square shape. I wish I could create a photo box or something to take pictures at night, which is when I'm forced to do so these days. ~Insectoid Aristocrat

Thanks all! Better pictures are up! @SpacerSteve: thanks! Many of my builds are actually inspired by songs. When I was listening to this song, I thought it was perfect for poor H3. @Kabel: only the Logs know... @Medium: ha! Good catch! Originally it was supposed to go on a track, but I scrapped that for time reasons. ~Insectoid Aristocrat

Tags: Land Vehicle, Science (follow-up to past "experiments", although this aspect of the story is intentionally ambiguous.) Sector: G03 ~~~~~~~~~~~~Meanwhile, in real life~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Dr. Long: "So, yeah, I will need you to file those follow-up behavioral reports by the end of the week. But it seems he's made excellent progress." Engineer: "Well yeah! He's hardly made a peep, since... you know..." Dr. Long: "Good to know. A quiet worker is a happy worker." "Log date 470, This is Dr. Danielle Long. The Subject's behavior has improved dramatically. I await a full data sheet from his handler, but I suspect that our behavioral improvement methods have finally rendered the subject a functional employee. Perhaps we can expand these methods to solve other problematic employees. I can think of a few who would potentially benefit from them... Dr. Long out, for now. Must check progress of Top Secret rescue mission." I've been experimenting (Science!) with that vertical border technique I'm seeing so often in GoH and some other expert builds. I'm actually quite pleased by even my own neophyte work here, so I will definitely try the technique again in the future. ~Insectoid Aristocrat

Having seen the pictures, I can say that the Ultimates look laughably rediculous. I am also not a fan of the transparent visors and Armour... they make an otherwise low reusability piece even less reusable. I'm sure some genius MoC expert will think of a use for the transparent armours... but I can't think if anything. Also, the Knights' Torsos look... worse? Anyways, these were prelims rudely smuggled behind Lego's back and are therefore unflattering, I'm sure. I bet the final products will look.... more worth 10$s. I also respect that they aren't trying some Gimmick, like the Speedorz, or the Spinjitzu things. Those always artificially raised the price of the "cheap" minifigure sets. These are much more worth the money it seems. Still thinking of getting Macy. Lavaria looks just great! I'll be getting at least one of her! I hope she has actual Legs too, though. Beautiful figure! Agreed. I think I'd much rather the Shields be blank. I'm a fan of utility, and if I want the stickers on, then the shape of the Shield is actually pretty easy to put a sticker on anyways. ~Insectoid Aristocrat

Well it's blurry and small, but it looks like a brand new artsy motif piece! Oh, yeah, I thought it might have been that. I still think it might be new though. ~Insectoid Aristocrat

It's new, I think! ~Insectoid Aristocrat

Ooh, delightful! The buildings are all lovely! I hope some parts of this are preliminary, since an overdose of (pointless?) Trans pink bricks is evident. I hope they are at least better integrated into the builds. I feel like there's more pink in the sets this time around?... or at least it's more obvious to me. I really liked how muted the otherwise overcommon in girl-targeted themes colour was last wave, but ah well. The Dragons are quite nice looking. Maybe not easily fit into the same world as most of Lego's previous Dragons, but cute nonetheless. I'll have a hard time arguing that I just buy the sets "for the foliage parts" this wave. Their faces are really cute. What really stands out are the buildings! they are nicely fanciful. Very elvish. I love the new tail piece (in brown!) And the seat piece too! And the new tea pot piece! And the new hourglass! And that sexy blue hair! I'll wait for official pictures before saying more though, because they always manage to make these sets irresistible with their photo-editing! I think I liked the first wave much better though... but maybe I'm biased by my love of foliage and cheap sets... ~Insectoid Aristocrat
