Insectoids; are Zotoxians necessarily bad?
Dannylonglegs replied to Bornin1980something's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Zotaxians are the good guys/neutral faction trying to survive the hostile environment in which they find themselves. ~Insectoid Aristocrat -
Beautiful! I love this! I had a similar idea when I first got my hands on some of those Hot Air Balloon pieces! Wonderful build! Very pulpy. ~Insectoid Aristocrat

[CONTEST] Benny's Spaceships Building Academy
Dannylonglegs replied to Bob De Quatre's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Ok so now I have another stupid question which is more or less a clarification issue. Say I decided to Bennify... say... this David Bowie Elves set https://shop.lego.com/en-US/product/Breakout-from-the-Goblin-King-s-Fortress-41188 And I got all fancy with the techniques, like using 1-2 bricks and 1-1 round bricks to make all the curves, and turned the "portal" into a big thruster thing and the cage into an ejectable prison-pod and turned the small boat into a small good-guy space ship... Would that be the kind of entry you're looking for? Even if I significantly styled it up with cool AFOL-used techniques? ~Insectoid Aristocrat -
I love this! It's simple, effective, and elegant! ~Insectoid Aristocrat

[CONTEST] Benny's Spaceships Building Academy
Dannylonglegs replied to Bob De Quatre's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Looks fun! For category B... how do u define "new"? I haven't really built anything of substance in 2 years. (Oh. Looks like u clarified that above) ~Insectoid Aristocrat -
Same boat here pal. Hoping that it'll come back soon. Bob said he still plans to get it back up and running but hasn't had the time. When it does come back, you bet your butt I'll be back too. ~Insectoid Aristocrat

We'll thanks! For the record, I always loved your cooky and creative builds and your funny stories. I wish I'd been in a better headspace during our colab, but alas that coincided with my brother's death and I didn't really finish it like I'd intended to. In fact, should AG ever be revived, that storyline will be referenced significantly at first. Anyways I loved playing with you even though my character's logic contrasted so significantly with yours' silliness. Anyways tho, what you're saying is very evidently true. Your style has leveled up! ~Insectoid Aristocrat

Very clean interior build. It feels powerful--imperial. I love it. We're I not so keen on trying out new building styles, I'd likely have joined Commenor rather than the Confederacy because of builds like this. It feels controlled and corporate. Walking the line between luxury and minimalism. Not quite spartan, yet there are certainly no lilies guilded here. You've done an excellent job of showing off your faction's power and aesthetic. I like the repeated use of windshields for windows. And the tile "art" on the wall is eye catching and a nice little detail. Wonderful build. ~Insectoid Aristocrat

Your talents seem to have only improved since our time together at Octan. As always your creativity shines through in this build! I love the idea of throwing small 1-1 round tiles inside the 2-1 trans-blue panel. Inspirational! I never considered a technique like that before! (Tho in fairness I also don't think I have any trans- panels with which to experiment atm. ) great to see more of your builds and your style has improved astronomically since your firsts builds in this forum! I eagerly await more Pombe action in this game! ~Insectoid Aristocrat

I agree with the others that the wall shaping is spectacular. This is a such a clean, elegant build, with just the right amount of detail seamlessly woven into the larger structure of the piece. The roof detailing, stray tubes and greeble, and the few wall sections that break the monotony are all masterfully positioned and curated. Great build and proof that you don't need to overclutter your piece with fancy techniques and a myriad of exotic parts to make it look well designed and beautiful. ~Insectoid Aristocrat

Yamate, senpai! Dania Longstrider is... uh... nothing like that. I have no idea to whom you could possibly be referring! good to be back in the MOCing world tho that's for sure. I missed this community, and building. ~Insectoid Aristocrat

Gorgeous gorgeous build mate! The detail in the Greeble is just exquisite. It all looks so cohesive and functional. The clutter is nicely designed and dispersed as well. My only critique is that is looks like a Hallway or part of a much larger room, rather than a mere bedroom :p ~Insectoid Aristocrat

[Factions Ep. 1] the Captain's Quarters on Felucia
Dannylonglegs replied to goatman461's topic in Factions Archive
This is simply gorgeous! Chock full of NPUs and detail, as one might expect from a Goatman MOC, but also I must say I love the story you've told and the deep drama unfurld in an otherwise small build. Top notch. Great work. Your landscaping skills are phenomenal. I know you more for your shipwork, but the environment you portray is really commendable. ~Insectoid Aristocrat -
Factions - Introduction, Discussion, and Core Rules
Dannylonglegs replied to goatman461's topic in Factions Archive
"The galaxy is a dark place." Mused Dania, crossing her long legs as she leaned against the cold concrete wall, smoking her death stick. "It's dark and even tho it's fulla stars they don't help none." She inhaled deeply, "it's high time someone spread a bit of light in the darkness." Dania Longstrider formally requests to join the Confederacy of Free Systems. Once she was a Private Investigator, helping those the Empire wouldn't deal with... now... she seeks to put that life behind her... and make a new life for herself in the galaxy. -
AG - Introduction and Discussion
Dannylonglegs replied to Bob De Quatre's topic in Andromeda's Gates
Looks like this game has been on Hiatus as long as I have. Pity. I'm finally back in a stable condition and looking forward to AG 2.0 And I was thinking... Maybe I'd go Fleshie this time. Ft: 2 random employees, Dr. Long's secretary Odus Dillberg (head is prelim), Dr. Danielle Long (head from Female Inferno Squad Trooper), and Dr. Long's (possibly only) friend Emily Dupont (head from Black Widow) I wouldn't have gone fleshie without the perfect head for Danielle. And when I saw that head in an affordable set, I knew it was right. ~Insectoid Aristocrat -
AG - Introduction and Discussion
Dannylonglegs replied to Bob De Quatre's topic in Andromeda's Gates
Altho in fairness considering my preference for female characters this probably isn't much of a surprise to anyone. Especially @LucByard who follows me on FB Anyways with any luck I'll be back up and running building mocs and contributing here sooner than later.. ~Insectoid Aristocrat -

Dannylonglegs replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Oh... Oh my holy shit. I really don't have words for how awesome this is other that I'll never be able to afford to buy it. That shit's like a tenth of my semester bill for school. I think it's fair to say this'll be on shelves for years. ~Insectoid Aristocrat -
This got hella bumped, but those are some really nice halo figs btw ~Insectoid Aristocrat

As always, Luc, your story and build are a delight to the eyes! I'm loving how your story has progressed. I'll admit that I only loosely followed AG 1 at the very end, and need to catch up on your story and that of others, but I'm enthused to see you continuing the trend of wonderful builds and stories that you established in AG1! ~Insectoid Aristocrat
