  1. By your argument I can tell I was unclear. If a scum leads a lynch on a Townie on day one, then on day two, he/she can simply say, "whoops, I could have sworn my target was scum," and get off Scott free. There's no reason to believe he/she wasn't a confused Townie especially if a lot of other people noted the lynched-townie's scummyness before. A really shitty scum would make a case against a townie, vote for said townie, notice no one else is voting for said townie, and then unvote said townie, then revote for said townie after being "called out" for unvoting. I know my actions have been stupid, but do you honestly all think I'm that dumb? Yes, and that's what I'd be doing right now if I was scum. Right. Vote: Commander Andrew Gordon (Scubacarrot)
  2. You are referring to yourself correct? No. I do not want to be a town leader. I don't want anyone to give me their power roles, and as you yourself have shown, those with power roles should not trust anyone with their information on the first day or night (or the second unless there's a good reason) I'm glad to hear you'd put this above me. I thought it was too, but I assure you, it's not because I'm scum and I slipped up. It's because I was trying to find a scum, became self-conscious, gave up, realized how dumb that was, and then re-voted him.
  3. I understand how strange my behavior has been, but this is not the behavior of a scum. Honestly, I would not have "slipped up" if I was scum. I would have asked for advice on what to do if I was feeling as uncertain as I was earlier, and frankly, I wouldn't feel so uncertain because I would know that Gordon's not on my team, and I'd push as hard as possible to get him Lynched because I could very easily come off as a confused Townie on day 2, and accuse someone who followed me. Or even better, I wouldn't try to lead the Town, I'd just stay the course and watch the Town Lynch an inactive Townie, a noob, or a screw-up like me right now and not even deal with the responsibility of a lynch. There are very few repercussions for a miss vote on day one. For a scum. For a Townie, a miss vote on day one is a very bad thing, because it means Scum: 1 (more likely 2) Town: 0, with only a bit of information to go on by means of behavioral analysis, and maybe an investigation result or a protection if the Town's very lucky. I wouldn't care if "I'm wrong" or alone if I was scum, because I very literally wouldn't be alone. I'd have a team backing me, and advising me. The same argument goes for you. I really don't know what I'm doing, and I made a really bad decision in dropping the attack. I don't know if I was tunnel visioning earlier, but I probably was. The only way I can see right now is to stay the course and stick to Gordon unless there's another argument that I find even more convincing. I'm sorry I made such a mess of this, but If I get lynched, you'll have lynched a townie.
  4. Well, I don't know what you want me to do. I've explained why I think his behavior is scummy, and he and I have argued the points over and over. Nobody but I, it seems, accept Zachary Jones, agrees that I'm on to something. Everyone either doesn't agree, or hasn't payed attention (perhaps intentionally, I don't know.) I did not wait for someone to vote for him either. I've been very busy today, and I was writing my vote for him before someone else even did. I am, again, uncertain how to lead a vote, or even if it's the right thing to do, and when I did, ultimately, my heart wasn't in it. I really do still suspect him, but I've been convinced that I'm tunnel visioning him for a metagaming reason. I would love to see if he's Townie or not, but I'm not sure if it would be worth it to get a Townie lynched just because I had a suspicion that no one else shared. I'm not trying to get a bandwagon started, I'm trying to find the scum. You're right about one thing though, me unvoting Gordon is not helpful to the Town, no matter how uncertain I am. We're all uncertain, as none of us have anything to work with. I tried to take the lead, but my uncertainty got the best of me when no one else followed. I really should see my vote to the end, even if I'm standing alone. It's the only argument that I find convincing anyways, and in my opinion, unless anything actually shows up, which it won't, we need a lynch to analyze behaviors with. I'm going to revote: Commander Andrew Gordon(Scubacarrot). I think he's scum, and even if I'm tunnel visioning on a townie, the responses to my argument can be analyzed by us tomorrow, and we can figure out who the actual scum are.
  5. "I did too, but we didn't go through yet, did we?"
  6. To what defense are you referring?
  7. I see what you're saying here, and now that he's responded the way he has instead of how I thought he was responding earlier, I'm getting more convinced that I'm wrong. Unvote: Second Officer Lieutenant Commander Andrew Gordon (Scubacarrot)
  8. "Well good, let's go through that portal now."
  9. The problem is I'm not so sure at the moment. I think he's scum but at the same time, I'm worried that it's just as likely that I have tunnel vision, and I'm singling him out because his actions remind me of myself during the simulation. That being said, I was scum, and I know that scum can be very logical and very capable of concealing their affiliation by mimicking themselves from past games. In addition, I want to see if anyone agrees with me, which would indicate to me either that others have picked up on his scummyness, or that the scum are trying to use me to get a Townie Lynched. It doesn't seem like too many agree with me though, which could mean I am on the right track, and the scum are pushing in other directions to get the popular vote away from their team mate. Or that I'm dumb and have no valid argument. What do you mean by 4 and 7? I do, and I told you, I think you brought it up to discretely change the subject and try to seem useful It's not all metagaming. That's just the reason I locked on to you. I very well might be. I could have sworn you used that during the Holovid Jedi Temple Mafia, but it was likely combined with other suspicions, so it wasn't as simple as a retaliation vote. Well, there's not much I can say in response to this apart from, you're welcome. You were a clear Town-tell from the start and we were correctly worried that you'd become a huge problem for us. This time around though, I'm getting a different read from you (although it might have something to do with not being scum myself this time around. ) No, I don't his post really strikes me as nooby, especially since he's essential repeating what I told him of my suspicions towards you in private. He's behaving like a sheep and for the most part he's alone, so no, it doesn't strike me as scummy. And by "looking for a noob to vote off again" I'm referring to your initial comment where you pointed out "Awesomestar." You've made it a habit of only picking on those who are sheepy because of their relative newness to the game, and I don't think that's Townie behavior. It reminds me of myself during the simulation. Well, I think it is best, so yes, I will vote for you. Vote: Commander Andrew Gordon(Scubacarrot) I'm not going to back off. If others want to vote for you, that's fine. I'd love to find out if I'm right. If no one joins me, I'm also pretty suspicious of Brian Pewter (Palathadric) who I think may be in league with you from some of the stuff he's said to me in private. His being in league with you in my mind depends on whether or not you are scum.
  10. This is a lot more like the you I remember. Your first response to my accusation was much more passive than this. Let me answer your points. Let's go back and reread that, shall we? You tell me my "logic fails", give me a veiled complement ("but I think at this point even half-logic like this is better than no discussion at all"), then you ask us all to give out information from the simulation which has no bearing in this game, but is also A. only really useful to the scum, and B. the "the number of scum and things like that" are very easily determined from actually paying attention to what happened during the simulation and after it. See above where I respond again to your post. It's passive and it seems to be avoiding conflict by changing the subject to that metagaming stuff, which might make you seem useful without actually being useful. Absolutely, it's rather obviously a joke or confusion (the latter in this case), but as you yourself told me during the simulation, "she's new." I understand that it was not an accusation, but a hint here and there can push things into motion which later you can easily deny. Sorry, I'm not trying to be a megablock, and it's nothing personal, I just think that your behavior today has been very scummy. There are no clues on the first day, apart from those we can garner from behavior analysis. You've used "he is accusing me, so he must be scum" before to some extent, and I expected you to say something along the lines of what I said earlier. Instead of even thinking that I could be scum for targeting you though, you just change the subject. There it is. I very well may be an idiot, mate, I'll give you that. I also very well may been blinded by the light (knowledge into the workings of the game...of life) of playing scum, however, idiot that I am, I haven't yet seen your light, and while this post here is very convincing, your next post isn't. I never carry any grudges, only friendly competitiveness. I have no hard feelings for you being awesome at your job during the simulation. This is what makes me continue to suspect you even after that rant. Do you honestly think that Campbell's behavior has been scummy, or is this you looking for a noob to vote off again? I'm calling you out on this. That's what really tops it off for me. The scummy cherry on the chocolate ice cream.
  11. Don't look for clues in the pictures!
  12. I still think Commander Gordon (Scubacarrot)'s behavior is scummy, but you're right about how quick my accusation was. I've never honestly led a lynch (on my own or for the town), and while I think Gordon's the most scummy, I'm not sure what to do apart from vote when the time comes. I suppose this is my cue. I'll reiterate my argument, because all meaningful talk seems to have died down. I think Commander Gordon (Scubacarrot) is scum for the following reasons: 1. My previously mentioned argument in which Gordon pointed out the sheepy behavior of Lieutenant Francis (Awesomestar) which you mentioned. Furthermore, 2. Gordon (Scubacarrot) is usually more on the attack. From watching his behavior, he usually gets into messy arguments when he's suspected and acts very defensively, which usually makes some suspect him because "Scum act defensively." He hasn't done that. Instead he attempted to change the subject after addressing my concerns, starting the whole metagaming discussion. Frankly, I think, if he was Town, he'd have noticed how quick and unsubstantuated my argument was, and suspect I was scum for making that argument and 'trying to get rid of a potentially dangerous Townie.' This is now the meat of my argument. Since then he hasn't said a whole lot, and let the discussion drop. To top it off. 3. He's calling out Ensign Toby Rockford (Darkdragon)'s confusing behavior, when during the simulation, I approached him in an attempt to convince him to Lynch "darkdragon" on the grounds that his behavior was sheepish and confusing/confused, and he (Gordon (Scubacarrot)) said: He brushed by her 'scummy' and confused behavior by saying "She's quite new to Mafia." Has that changed, or have you, Gordon?
  13. OK. I am suspicious of Second Officer Lieutenant Commander Andrew Gordon (Scubacarrot) for "noting" Lieutenant Richard Francis, chief astrobiology officer (AwesomeStar)'s sheepy behavior, because during the simulation, (Awesomestar) then Lieutenant Joshua Wright, med-bay nurse, was behaving very sheepishly and confusingly, so the scum (myself included, then Brian Pewter) split the vote between (Awesomestar) then Lieutenant Joshua Wright, med-bay nurse, and (KingoftheZempk), then Ensign Peter Robbins, janitorial staff. During Night one, the Vigillante killed (Awesomestar) then Lieutenant Joshua Wright, med-bay nurse because of the suspicion we raised against him and his behavior under pressure. I suggest that Lieutenant Richard Francis, chief astrobiology officer (AwesomeStar) would make a good target for a day lynch by the scum who are looking to find someone who will crack under pressure and confuse the town.
  14. Oh, most certainly not. You are mistaken. I'm suggesting that because Commander Gordon was pointing out a very easy target, he was trying to initiate some popular suspion towards him, which would lead to a bandwagon, which would lead to a dead Townie and a wasted day lynch. Wrong again, I was referencing to day one of the simulation during which me and my scum buddies split the vote between two very sheepy and confusing townies, and the second who did not get Lynched (who bore a striking resemblance to Francis) got killed that night by a misslead Townie. I don't think that this is Gordons intent. I concur that pressure is necessary, but this strikes me as pressure intentionally misplaced. Sorry, that's worded poorly, I mean, I don't think hinting the Vig to target Francis was his intent.
  15. Maybe, but your statement was non-commital in that you were merely "noting" it. Merely noting it is a great way to start something (a Lynch) and not take any credit for it once it results in the death of a Townie. We did last game too, just saying. I have it on good account that such a move is highly beneficial in advancing their cause. And, no, metagaming is not useful in this situation, because the number of scum may have changed, the number or presence of other factions may have changed, the quantity, effect, and name of any PRs may have changed. And it may not have. Such information, as Falcon pointed out, is easily manipulated to benefit the scum, so calling for such action would certainly aid them more than us. Also, it serves to distract the Town from looking for scum. (I meant to say it last post, but, I had narrowed the blocker down to either you or Darkdragon. I'm glad to hear I was right.)
  16. I don't think my logic fails, and I think I'd prefer the name mr. I-know-players-by-getting-them-killed-by-the-pro-town-killer-night-one-by-doing-exactly-what-you-just-did. (At least I think it was the pro-town killer. It wasn't the Purists) You're very welcome. You'll get a title like mine playing that game! That's metagaming, and it's against the law! Where's that hansome security guard Pewter? (and I'm sorry about my squeemishness, but I can't hold down my lunch when I see dead bodies, weiners, or team-outings!) There is very little use that can come from such information, and the little that could would not be fair use anyways. I strongly disagree with your decision to ask for such information, and even if you're not scum, it would most likely benefit the scum more than the Townies.
  17. Was I too bombastic? I'll clarify in layman's terms. Everyone knows1 that scum behave sheepishly to avoid suspicion. So, it would be easy for a scum who does not behave sheepishly to take advantage of this common knowledge2 by pointing out scummy3 behavior to lynch a Townie. 1: thinks 2: widespread erroneous conclusion 3: sheepy Thanks for teaching me that function , is there a reason for the 3?
  18. Yes I am, because, he's a sheep. (No offence.) He is very easily pointed out as a sheep. It would be very easy to get him lynched for sheepy behavior, and Townie or not, no one would really care because "He was mucking-up our scumdars."
  19. Dead body! *Vomits* Hey! That's my MO! filthy no good copy cat. And so has this. Are you really pointing out Francis's 'unhelpful actions'? I'm feeling a bit of Deja Vu, but also a bit of suspicion towards you for having pointed them out. A prevalent logic fallacy often abused by the antagonists in certain situations such as the one in which we find ourselves is to target those who, by lack of experience or analytical prowess, cannot make themselves evidently 'useful' in isolating the Scum from the Town, as behaving 'scummy,' when in most circumstances the behavior would be better termed 'nooby.' Your quickness to "note" these actions suggests to me that your agenda would be furthered by Lynching a nooby Townie. I may be wrong but this looks like an attempt to get him to crack under pressure, which you already know won't be hard, and won't be useful to the town, and once he's succesfully lynched by you and your scum-buddies (maybe excluding one for caution) and a bandwagon full of drunken townsfolk, you can say: "Huh, the way he responded to my suspicions made me even more convinced he was scum. Oh well, at least he won't be around any more to clog up our out-lawed scumdars... Who's next? "
  20. You're giving him a gun?! But he could be scum! He could kill us all! Where did you study Security?!
  21. Infection! Blegh! That Holo-vid made me nauseous! There's only one way to avert such a crisis: Pandemonium! I'd scream, but I don't think any one would hear me.
  22. And I'll have you know that even Shakespeare misspelled words. However, you're correct. That wasn't precisely the spelling I was aiming for. You see, the spell-check in my head seemed to be turned off. I shall endeavor to ameliorate my decidedly atrocious spelling, as you comand .
  23. Precicely! At least we don't wear red shirts! Then we'd be in trouble.
  24. Welcome to the Ensigns. By the way, that Brian Pewter's a hansome looking fellow.
