Wow! While I do not like the ship, I am constantly astounded by how much NPU that set has going on! I can't wait to build my own Insectoid Arsenal. I think I may actually give my sig-fig the new gun as opposed to the trans-green Aquazone one... I've got allot of scorpions. ~Insectoid Aristocrat

just2good, you are just too good! thanks for the two reviews! It doesn't balance on the legs? What's the point of only having two of them? *grumble grumble* Actually, it looks much nicer in the video, reminding me that it is in fact Lego and not some poorly designed clone. I actually admire some of the techniques and allot of the new technic pieces. It reminds me of the good old days. Don't get me wrong, I'm still not getting this set probably, but it's not too bad considering all. I like how you mentioned the wheel pieces were indeed not double sided studs. Your review also makes me like the mosquito figure allot more too. You managed in one scene to capture a particularly menacing and not-too-goofy angle. Still though, I'll have to agree to disagree with you on the best minifigure ever, as that title truly belongs to Queen Gypsy Moth... Space-God save the Queen. I do have a question; what is the second piece in the Insectoid's gun? 1. Scorpion, 2. ?, 3. trans-Magenta disk. As for the Beetle-Pod, I love it. While I usually like more streamlined craft, this one is quite alright the way it is... And that Minifigure is just.... ~Insectoid Aristocrat

I agree. It's not that I'm disappointed though. The theme is well thought out and well executed--It's just not my cup of tea for the most part. I may buy one or two sets, and that new Raven set looks great, but overall, It's goofy (and in some cases reminiscent of megablocks) and I don't want to involve myself with the story. (on a positive note, though, it feels a bit like Bionicle did when I was a kid... Oh the halcyon days of youth. ) I like it better than Ninjago story-wise though, and I think it's setting itself up to be a tiny bit darker. I'm not sure how I feel about the massive quantity of new mask molds used in this. On one hand they look cool, on the other, they don't look Lego. I'm pleased that they use masks though, because I'll likely use the heads at some point. I don't like the new choppy wing piece either. Overall, it's nice, but not something I'd be interested in. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
