As soon as Drake made his withdraw, the Elf ranger grabbed the sack and left the party in the alley, walked to the front of the church, and entered....

Dreyrugr (Vash the Stampede) 1000 year old Male Vampire Rogue Level 13 Power: 17 (Level 13+Weapon 5) Health: 10/19 (Rogue Base 7+ Level Bonus 12) Gold: 69 Equipment: Fauxthril Scythe (WP:5), Psuedos Hood Inventory: Venom x2, Bedroll, Smoke Bomb, Remedy, Grand Potionx1, Smelling Salts x3, Amethyst, Shuriken (WP:5), Mead, Net (if used in combat, 1/3 chance to slow enemy, 1/3 chance to be useless, 1/3 chance slow self, lasts 3 rounds, retrievable), Crow-Claw Dagger (WP: 6, 1/6 chance to stun enemy) Dreyrugr stuck his hand into the bag and pulled out a handful of coins, slipping them into his own pocket. OoC: You can do whatever you like, as long as Sister Lucile doesn't notice anything missing. Also, this isn't your last chance to get money in the quest. From within the Church, the party could hear a door open, and footsteps. "Father Caine! The Guards found the Alterboy! They're taking him to the Court District for questioning. Father Caine?! Where are you Father Caine?"
  5. I wouldn't object if you each took a handful (no more than 10ish), but if Sister Lucile doesn't recognize it as the amount that was stolen... Also, consider your character's morals if applicable.
  6. "Not that this isn't fun..." Began the Cloakless Ed, his partner dragging Father Caine's body away, "But unless you need us any more, I think it's time my mate and I made our getaway." He finished. A crack of lightning filled the air, illuminating the alley in its sinister light. Then a bust of smoke emerged from where Ed had been standing. When the stuff cleared, neither he nor his mate were there. It would appear the party wasn't as thorough in their search of the defeated rogue as they could have been. The Party stood now, alone in the rain at the steps of the back entrance to the Church. It was 10 till four, and Karie remembered the warning Ed gave her about keeping the hot gold. "You'd best return that to the naive Sister Lucile within this establishment. If you keep it, you're likely to run afoul of the whole Town's guard eventually. Caine wasn't planning on keeping it long. Even we wouldn't take on the whole town's guard." What would the Party like to do?

  11. What do we say to the god of death?... In America!

  12. "You really can't, or are you just saying this?"
  13. The Po Brothers looked at each-other awkwardly, as if they had just taken a bite of something entirely nasty, but had to continue eating it for fear of offending their hosts. OoC: Lol, this argument is great.
  14. "Sorry to hear that." Stated Ed. "Even though the man's one true love is his reflection in a golden-framed mirror, he does come in handy on occasion."
  15. "Well, I'd employ Marty or his annoying informant, Craw Fee." "Or you could try telling the Cloth Merchants themselves, but it seems quite late for that, seeing as how Abe intends to make his purchase at 4:30."
  16. "He came around in the morning. Maybe 10 or 11? After that he told us where and when to meet him to enact the plan, and then went to do the same for Marty. He had his companions do a few things for him too. He said he would send Dice to the Mage's district to set-up the purchase with the Shadeaux via Ether-mail. The rumour's probably spread as widely as it needs to be. The thing about words is that once they're spoken... they can't be unspoken. You can shut-up the speaker, but you can never recapture his speech." The were-raven chuckled.
  17. The were-raven captives looked quite shocked as they witnessed Nessa and Karie begin fighting. Al looked quite excited, while Ed looked amused. OoC: Thanks! yeah, take your time. I'm trying to keep a fast pace for your enjoyment and ability to follow the plot, but don't worry about not updating too frequently. I'm not a slave-driver. Yes, you've got time to get the dopplegangers. And I'm sure someone asked, but I can't remember where, you can go to the market after returning the gold to the church and buy consumables I'll assume it doesn't take long and that it's near the cloth market. "watch where you're pointing that thing! The only one who gets to threaten my Baby like that is me!" Al spoke with some defiance. "No need to get upset." spoke Ed, grinning and calm, despite the threat of pain or his psychotic boyfriend's anger. "Ask away my good undead man." "HOW, did you know we were working for the Hinckwells? For how long we've been here you get your information fast." The were-raven grinned further. "I thought I told you. Abe tells us. He told us 6 days ago that the Hinckwells were buying the cloth trade, and he told us today that Dill Hinckwell had hired a band of 5 sellswords stop us. He did fail to mention how powerful you were, and that you're adept thieves." he finished with a serious tone. "WHAT, do you know about the rumour spreading? Tell me everything from the top. NOW." "Easy. Abe's plan requires that poor Dill Hinckwell's plan gets out of the bag, so-to-speak. You can't buy cloth at bottom prices if the merchants still feel like they've got something to lose." The were-raven grinned. "We've disseminated the information as best we could. Al and I got the idea to employ that bastard Marty you keep going on about. He's got an extensive information network, and he's always looking for useful information. We gave him one, told him to use the other and dangled the prospect of money in his face and it didn't take long before the whole city knew all we needed it to." The were-raven chuckled to himself. "Next, WHO is Abe? The Church accountant? Even I could've told you that. Who is he? And why does he want to buy all this cloth?" "To be frank, I don't know much about the man. No one really does. I don't believe anyone's even seen his face, 'cept maybe his companions. He keeps it covered by scarves all the time. Rumour has it it's because he got the goblin-pox when he was just a boy. His face is deformed, and he's ashamed of it, is my guess. He's not a religious man either. He's just smart. He probably knows more about business than Marty, and without the information gathering network." The were-raven stopped to gather his thoughts. He looked around at the party, then back to Dreyrugr. "Well, he wants money, of course. The plan is quite simple: Buy as much cloth in bulk as possible while the price is at rock-bottom by getting the city people to know of Hinckwell's move before-hand, and then sell it to the Shadeaux for 6 times its worth. The Shadeaux'll want to remain competitive, and they'll buy whatever we sell to them at whatever price we want." he grinned. "Essentially, we use the Hinckwell's play against them. They don't benefit from the trade restriction, and neither does the Shadeaux. Lose-lose." he finished, looking pleased. "You say this is Abe's plan. He was heading over to Marty earlier and yet I found a note from both of you giving him orders for this whole rumour business. Why such a roundabout method? And what rumour did you tell him to spread?" "Including Marty was our idea, and a good one too. Abe devised the plan and called the shots, but we decided that Marty'd be the fastest way to get the info out, so we offered to include him in the scheme. We told him to spread the rumour that 'the lord is passing a new law that will allow only the Hinckwell company to purchase cloth from the vendors and artisans of Brendenton tomorrow.' He was also going to bring some money to the table, but I'm not sure if he will now. He was supposed to meet Abe earlier, but I haven't heard back on that yet." "And now an added question. Tell me everything you know about Yoro and Lawrence Dice. And don't try my patience or else we won't need your doppelgangers." Al stuck out his thick bird-like tongue at Dreyrugr, and clucked antagonistically. Ed stifled a chuckle at his lover's antic. "Yoro and Dice seem to be Abe's old companions. They only got in town a week ago. Abe was quite pleased to see them, or, at-least Dice, and immediately set the plan in motion. Dice is a travelling salesman, and I think Yoro's his wife... or sister. It's hard to tell, and you humans all look alike. It was the first time we saw them, but Abe trusted them enough to let them into the fold immediately. They're bringing 1000 gold to the table." "Killing him should be easy. Whatever he looks like, he's human as far as I can tell, and I've never seen him fight. It could be that he doesn't know how to. Most people don't."
  18. Don't you mean phase fun?! Thou, Nature, art my goddess. To thy law my services are bound. You only need to worry about that if you talk to the same person twice... or people cross-reference. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  19. Well, that battle took more time than the previous! I hope you all enjoyed it and didn't get bored by it's length. I loved doing the dialogue for the Po Brothers. You all get more time to ask questions and whatnot. I'm going to be very busy tomorrow, and likely won't check in until the evening. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  20. Karie Alderflask (Played by Kintober) *Party Leader* 22 year old Human Rogue, lvl 6 Power: 12 (lvl 5 + WP: 6) Health: 9/12 Gold: 44 Equipment: Sexy (WP: 6, Rapier, Disregards SP, usable by Knights and Rogues) Inventory: Potion (3), Mead (2), Remedy (2), Venom, (1) Smoke bomb (2), Telescope (1), Bedroll (1), Heirloom Dagger (WP:3), Map of Brendenton (1), Spider Coin (worth 1 gp) (1),Dagger (WP:4), Topaz, Sack of the Church's gold "Don't sell yourself short Lady, it takes one hell of a rogue to get the drop on my mate." He stated, catching the woman's potion in his talon hands. He leaned over to his mate, cradling the were-raven's head in his lap. He fed the unconscious rogue the rest of the vial. His eyes opened, and he started to stir. "Did we win?" He asked meekly, but facetiously, looking up at his lover's face. Ed chuckled. "We're cooperating." He informed Al. "Lovely." He rolled his eyes. "And we're not staying in Brendenton anymore." "We haven't been to Drandora in a while." "We might take up Eubric." "You know, Carthago's a lovely city." "Boys!" "Oh, yeah, sorry." "A deal's a deal. If you would be so kind to dispose of Mr. Arch-Bishop's body over there it would be most appreciated. As well, can you point out the rendezvous point?" "Of course." The were-raven grinned. "Oooh." Crooned his mate, "I'll do that." "Oh, I'm sure." His mate chuckled, standing up and helping his mate onto his feet. He turned to the rogue, sizing her up. "You know, you're alright." he stated. "There ought to be more honourable thieves." he finished, grinning with some respect. "And speaking of Honour, we were planning on meeting outside Honourable Che Qi's cloth stall. But he's not the only one who's selling." He stated. "I'm afraid that Abraham's not going to be able to buy as much without this gold, though." The Were-raven snickered, pointing at the black sack Karie carried at her side. "You'd best return that to the naive Sister Lucile within this establishment. If you keep it, you're likely to run afoul of the whole Town's guard eventually. Caine wasn't planning on keeping it long. Even we wouldn't take on the whole town's guard." OoC: I'll leave you here for tonight to allow for additional questioning and talk. I'll be very busy tomorrow, so I may not update it until quite late in the evening. You've got planty of time to decide on your next course of action or ask the Brothers any further questions. I know Dreyrugr's got at least one that has yet to be answered (and one that could be elaborated on.) (I'll ask those two for you if you can't make it, but you've got time.) Good night all.
  21. "Hm. It seems you're half the progg you used to be." Stated Sylph bluntly. (OoC: Isn't Johon un-marked?) Sylph: Frail Reggie, BR Alex: Reggie, BR Galen: Reggie, BR Hal: DhI, BR Galen: Reggie, BR Elgar: Reggie, BR Johon: VhC, BR Sylph: Heal Daxus, BR Punii: Make Jellies
  22. The were-raven grinned evilly. "It would appear you are in luck then...." He began, with a surprising amount of self-assurance. "My mate and I've got Doppelgangers." He grinned. "I've been preparing for defeat for some time. We've got a way out, and you can keep your bounty." He stated, pleased. "Two mafiosos by the name of Sha Do and Da Gi, they look pretty close to my mate and I. It's not a coincidence of course. We were Don's best men, and those two were chosen to be our lookalikes, for obvious reasons. They run loyal to the Don's upstart son Bo now, so I'm sure he won't miss them, and my mate and I'll be gone before he finds out anyways. You'd do well to burn their faces a bit before you hand 'em to Don though." The lone brother chuckled. "But that's not the kind of information I promised to tell you though. I don't know where Sha and Da are, but I do know where you can find the Accountant, I think. It's fifteen till four now, I think, and he should be in the Market place at our rendezvous point at four thirty to solidify the cloth purchase." He finished, openly. "Will you heal my mate now? I'll continue to be compliant, but I don't want you lot betraying me either."
  23. The were-raven was quite shocked at the painted lady's display, her irritation clearly visible beneath the worn and rinsed face-paint. The rain drizzled lightly on the party and the fallen bird-man. Dreyrugr could not tell if the man was lying or not. He remained calm, and his blood didn't shift, despite his condition. He was either honest or so used to dishonesty that his blood refused to change its course from apathy. Likely both. "First I want to know what you're planning on doing with me when I tell you. I know how the game is played, Lady, and once one's cards are on the table, they can't go back in one's hands. What angle are you driving, because we can help you if it suits our better interests."
  24. Karie Alderflask (Played by Kintober) *Party Leader* 22 year old Human Rogue, lvl 6 Power: 12 (lvl 5 + WP: 6) Health: 9/12 Gold: 44 Equipment: Sexy (WP: 6, Rapier, Disregards SP, usable by Knights and Rogues) Inventory: Potion (3), Mead (2), Remedy (2), Venom, (1) Smoke bomb (2), Telescope (1), Bedroll (1), Heirloom Dagger (WP:3), Map of Brendenton (1), Spider Coin (worth 1 gp) (1),Dagger (WP:4), Topaz, Sack of the Church's gold, 1/2 Potion (Not usable by PCs) The were-raven looked at her slyly. "Hm." He contemplated. "You know what? Fine. As long as I'm not actively dying, I can save Al from you sell-swords even if you betray me." He took the potion and drank half of it, handing it back to Karie. He flinched a little as the stuff kicked in. "There we go. Nasty stuff." He grumbled, his condition now stable. "Alright. I'll tell you what you want to know from me." He grumbled, looking defeated. Dreyrugr muttered "I am sick of liars today so spill everything you know and make it quick." Dreyrugr picked up one of the anti were-creature bolts off the ground and hovered the point very close to Ed's neck. Dreyrugr then started mutttering loud enough to be heard but soft enough for it to seem as though he were talking to himself, "If I place this bolt under your skin will you be in eternal pain........or bleed slowly from the inside, either way I guess that would be painful. Ripping all your feathers out would hurt now wouldn't it. Maybe if I slowly cut off your talons with my Scythe....." Dreyrugr stated with an evil looking smile on his face and then slowly went along with all he'd been muttering aloud. "First question I want answered is how you knew we were working for the Hinckwells. Next, tell me everything you know about the rumour spreading. And don't bother lying, you're blood moves differently if you lie. If you do lie I'll just make everything a lot more painful. Actually if you don't want to answer or tell the truth than that's fine too, I don't think my friends will let me harm you if you tell me everything and that wouldn't be any fun now would it?" Dreyrugr spoke the last sentence while bearing his fangs, letting a truly murderous look come out of his eyes at the same time as looking like an innocent child who just received a new toy to play with. "We've been following Abe's plan. He told Father Caine of the takeover 6 days ago, and convinced him to go along with his scheme." "So who's Abe?" "The Church accountant now for 6 or so years. He seems young, and he's got a boyish voice, but he knows allot more about everything then he ever lets on. And he's brilliant too. He's kept the Church in the black for the past 5, 6 years, and he's why we've got our job in the first place."
  25. Do you mean Ed, the conscious one, or do you really mean you'll heal Al, the unconscious one?
