Yakuza Family - Confirmation and Discussion
XimenaPaulina replied to badboytje88's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
The ghost of Lloyd Jr. is still roaming... watching all over you... his soul not resting until he finds out those without conscience that killed an innocent young child... Or a Mod. I see 'dead' people too. -
Theed Hangar Battle The battle rages on inside the Theed hangar as the Trade Federation droid army brings in reinforcements to recapture the hangar. As several Naboo Starfighters scramble to get airborne, the ground forces have been split to enable the royal entourage to get to the palace. Eurobricks MOC Expert ACPin shares with us his latest signature large-scale diorama – an epic recreation of the Theed Hangar Battle for his Phantom Menace Community Build entry. You could also support this creation in ACPin’s Star Wars Modular Buildings/Locations Project on LEGO CUUSOO. Visit the MOC topic to see more.

Review: 9495 Gold Leader's Y Wing Starfighter
XimenaPaulina replied to Oky's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Man, why do excellent reviews have to come up with sets I'm 50/50 on getting, now after seeing this review I might just have to get this! I agree this version has certainly addressed most of the inaccuracies of the previous two versions, and while not perfect I think the designers did a good job on this one. Thanks for sharing this brilliant review Oky! He did get his afterall. -
Very nice work Master Shifu! You really did a good job job downscaling Kevin J. Walter's version keeping the overall shape, design, and detailing of the ship even at mini/micro-scale. Thanks for shapring, even if you misposted it in Sci-Fi.

Whoops, busy me! Just had a short time to blog and had to log-off to attend to some stuff. But as always, it's a pleasure to see your large-scale dios AC, you really captured the scene accurately. And for some reason, even if there are already more recent versions of the N-1 it's still good to see you used the classic '99 ones. Any particular reason why you used those? (Don't have the recent ones I suppose? - though I doubt it you miss on SW sets ).

REVIEW: 6857 The Dynamic Duo Funhouse Escape
XimenaPaulina replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
Excellent review CloneyO! As always the presentation is top-notch and I enjoyed your signature style of commentary. I was really on the fence on getting this set, but this review just reconfirms my initial impression that this set is worth getting. For its $40 price tag this is certainly a great value set, so even if I was planning on saving bucks for the upcoming SW, LOTR, and Marvel sets, I think this will be a 'good investment', either for my own personal consumption or for re-selling in the future. -
While I personally do not condone any form of human crimes and injustice, I just don't think Eurobricks is the proper forum to discuss serious political issues such as this. I will have to close this topic, but members could still watch the video and be informed and judge for themselves.

LEGO Superheroes 2012 Rumours & Discussion
XimenaPaulina replied to Hinckley's topic in LEGO Licensed
Like what I previously mentioned in my Superman set review, those damned cheek bones really make minifig characters unnaturally "old" (add to that they resemble the unpopular CW faces ). I really wish TLG could've just left these unwanted prints out, I mean it worked well with the Indys, the Hans, and the Leias before so why introduce this small but annoying face print detail? -
No. Stop spamming this EB Member's Titles Thread. No, seriously, stop spamming. NOW. And this goes to everyone else, pls. keep the off-topic comments to a bare minimum.

Wow you easily forget eh? I blogged your Tatooine Desert scene last year --> "No wait, I thought you were blind?!?"

Yoda is indeed right in saying "size matters not" as you've shown how a small build like this can be so jampacked with very interesting techniques with your effective combination of customization, mini-building, and forced perspective photography. Really impressive Darth Yogi!

I've always been a fan of brickbuilt SW creatures, from BaronSat's Bantha to ACPin's Rancor, and this Dewback certainly ranks among them as one of my favorites! This is indeed a very good alternative to the rare and expensive official LEGO Dewback, and the good thing about this is you could even have a different color variant as you've shown with your tan Dewback. Excellent work overall Brickmamba!
-
Yeah a re-issue of Batman's Tumbler and/or the new tan-brown camouflaged variant would really be cool if ever there will be a TDKR sets. One idea that might be worth exploring is Catwoman (Anne Hathaway version) in a Bat Pod, sorta like a small set ala-Catwoman Catcycle City Chase set.

Great job on setting up the cleverly-named "Launch Pad" Macoco/SI-mocs! I really like how things now are getting organized around here in Sci-Fi. For starters I think the banner might need a little bit of updating to give the whole subforum a fresh look. (We'll have to discuss with the graphic designers in the Staff regarding this, but if you have ideas feel free to thrown them in.) And I believe I've heard of some interesting ideas to liven up this forum once again, but I guess we'll have to discuss it somewhere else to keep the 'surprise factor' for the members. But so far, excellent work guys and keep it up!

Once again, thanks to everyone who participated in this raffle and hope to see you again in the next raffles here in our forum! -
Like what I said in the blog post, this podracer entry has the high quality of MOCing we've come to expect from you Oky - from the nicely-thought concept to the seamless transformation in brickbuild. And no, you don't have to 'shake up' your building style as we're enjoying every part of your creations. Keep up the excellent builds and best of luck in the contest!

Well done Jack! I really like how the Chinese dragon engines give the podracer an overall oriental look, even if it isn't automatically related to the Japanese Samurai.

LEGOLAND Windsor - Star Wars Miniland Experience Mini-Raffle
XimenaPaulina replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
The mini-raffle is now closed and a winner shall be announced shortly. Thanks to all those who expressed their interest, best of luck! -
And here I thought this topic will quickly go down the drain, but then I remembered that I also did dream of LEGO before. Actually several times sporadically occurring when I was growing up. Curiously, it was similar to most of the members who posted their experiences: Back when I was a kid, I really didn't have much LEGO since the sets were unaffordable by my parents and I had to settle for at most a couple of small sets a year (as b-day and x-mas gifts). Those where the times when I was dreaming of being on a LEGO store and just getting all the sets I want, but when it was time to go home *poof!* It was all but a dream. So sad and cruel for a young kid to get his hopes high, really. You can now stop playing the world's smallest violin.

Praiter Yed's Star Wars Customs
XimenaPaulina replied to Praiter Yed's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Praiter, thank you for giving us a glimpse of never-before-released Star Wars characters in minifig form (before TLG decides to release them shortly after ), like this excellent custom Wullf Yularen. You have certainly become one of my most favorite SW customizer around with your unique customs and very clean and professional-looking works. -
"Like" is overrated. I absolutely LOVE this! This would probably be my desktop wallpaper for a VERY LOOONG time. EDIT: And just to visualize my reaction, featuring (ironically) my less-than-stellar photography skills: Frozen in Awe by Kiel.Da.Man on flickr

For some reason the scene showing that alien eel/whale/whatever reminds me of the Driller/Shockwave in Transformers 3.
