  1. Sure thing, I'll post a pic later after I get back home from work.
  2. Updated with picture of vignette!
  3. A while back I saw an old Yoda lightsaber tag in the Tag Archives and I thought it would be cool to update it into LEGO-fied versions so I made these. But it was actually a secret plan to know who among the staff are (closet?) SW fans. (Just kidding!) ____ And Doc, once again great job on the vastly improved MOC Index! Very impressive organization!
  4. Thanks! Glad you liked the hoverboard! 'Sacrificing' that skateboard piece was worth the effort after all. Much like the character compensating his youth and relative 'weakness' with intellectual genius and high-tech gadgetry to be an effective hero, I also had to give the relatively plain fig some custom (cool?) gadgets to spice up the overall look.

Inspiration Behind the Entry: I was not really intending to enter the other categories in this contest aside from the Category A entry that I did, but I was really impressed by some of the great entries so far that inspired me to take a shot at the Build-a-Hero category. For this category, I wanted to create an out-of-the-box character that deviates from the cookie-cutter format of "dark characters with a tragic past and seeks revenge in life" but still would somehow fit in the Batman universe. So I created a character based on a kid genius who always seeks to positively contribute to Gotham City. Admittedly, he isn't the normally physically strong protagonist that we're used to, but more in the mold of Teen Titan Robin. But despite Kid Flare's diminutive stature, no one can question his big heart to help Gotham City in anyway that he can. Thanks for looking! C & C's are always welcome!
  6. Here's a couple of shots of the vignette without the photo editing and without the minifig (can't put these two in the main entry as it will be over the 5 pics max. limit). This is supposed to be the rooftop where the bat signal is located, the build is purely fictional and I did not base it on any reference material. I was planning to put some actual lighting in the bat signal but I thought it would distract too much from the main focus of the contest which is the custom minifig. Maybe I could expand this build further in the near future into a Batman MOC. Maybe.
  7. This is me, but the "less-crazy" variant.
  8. Clue #1: He used to be "busy being awesome".
  9. Looks like Nightwing got into the Aztec Warrior's wardrobe. No seriously, this is one very fine entry, great job on combining all the pearl gold elements to achieve the overall golden look of this fig. It might be a bit 'too bright' for the dark Batman universe, but in the weird world of comics where everything is possible, his background more than justifies the outfit motif. One of the stronger entries in the Hero category, best of luck in the competition!
  10. Here are a couple of new ones (I hope these aren't that easy :p )
  11. Still my all-time favorite LEGO jedi. The Fisto fig is like the grand-daddy of all PT/CW jedi, paving the way for the custom head molds for Plo, Saesee, Shaak, Koth, Kolar, Piell. Though I would certainly love for him to have an updated head using the current soft-plastic/rubber-type material as opposed to the old rubber one. With the upcoming Palpy's Arrest set, it would be interesting to see if his fig will indeed have a much-needed update.
  12. Great review of this new Friends set Luxor! Reminds me of my previous "time with Friends" when I did a couple of reviews in the first wave. One thing I noticed, at least for myself, is that after the all the hype (and controversy) surrounding the theme a few months back have already died down, it seems the level of interest for 'curious' buyers like me have also waned. This set doesn't appeal to me as much unlike the first time I bought the Andrea's Music Stage set, most probably because I already had the Andrea fig and I'm not much interested on the parts. I couldn't speak for others, so it would be interesting to know how the second wave will perform compared to the first one. Funny thing, Andrea sporting blond hair reminds of this:
  13. Wow, I didn't think the word Oky had such a deep and eloquent meaning.
  14. You mean Count Dooku's. I was quite surprised myself with the almost-purist outcome of this fig (sans the custom trench coat). It just so happened that the overall look 'clicked' and it worked for me, even if I had initial plans of brasso-ing/painting black the brown part of the torso. Of course that's a very good suggestion, I actually wanted to do that but my lightning piece isn't with me (it's back home). I guess I'll just do a fake lighting spark effect on the image.
  15. I like this custom the way as it is, especially the shroud of mystery behind that faceless mask. I understand where Oky is coming from with his constructive criticism, but even if this uses majority of the CMS Bandit fig, one could not deny the fact that the simple tweaks done - black faceless mask with custom decal, reversed handkerchief thingy, custom trench coat, and modified pistols - gives this custom fig a whole different look that is significantly divergent from its original fig. And at the end of the day if you're happy with your entry then that's what's most important. Good job and best of luck!
  16. Great entry Oky! I love the intimidating scary look of the face, as well as the nicely-done vignette. Overall it sure looks like a villain I could see fitting the Batman universe perfectly. Though I really can’t help but giggle at the name being exactly the same as sok’s Nighthawk hero entry. I sure would want to see a battle of the Good vs. Evil Nighthawk for the bragging rights to use the Nighthawk monicker.
  17. Thanks for the excellent review def! Good to see this set gets its proper review treatment, though after seeing it up close I’m still not sold into this. It might just be my personal taste, but its red color scheme is too bright for my liking (even the CW-era Delta 7Bs have more ‘towned down’ color schemes). The design also doesn’t cut it for me, even with its nifty folding wings mechanism. The only reason I would probably buy this is because of the new figs, but even these aren’t too enticing to get, and especially not with the impressive new minifig line-up of this wave. This might be one of the relatively cheaper sets of the wave, but I’d rather save the money to buy on of the bigger sets like Jabba’s Palace, Gungan sub, or even its fellow TOR set The Fury.
  18. Yeah I know. And due to "insistent public demand", I finally included the comparison with the Sail Barge desert skiff in the review, as well as comparison of the old and new Sarlacc pits. (Accompanying texts are in the main review). Yeah I thought of this too (just forgot to mention it in the review ). If Jabba's Palace and this Desert Skiff sets are signs of things to come, then we could most likely anticipate an updated Sail Barge along with the rumored Rancor pit hopefully in the near future. Aha, I knew there was something wrong when I saw that hinge piece in the leftover parts! Yeah I somehow missed that part in the instructions. Looks like it's quite a common mistake (?).
  19. 1. Lion 2. Tiger 3. Eagle 4. Wolf 5. Deer
  20. This is a brilliant idea! And even a greater way to present these LEGO animals with your digital renders - makes it much more a 'sellable' concept with these visualizations. As they are I think they're already perfect molds for LEGO to use. This is one of the few CUUSOO entries that I could really see being part of regular themes like CITY (zoo), or a 'Safari Adventure'-type of theme. Now this just needs a strong support from the FOL community - and you certainly have mine.
  21. Thanks! Ha, how I wish I could really see him battling Bats in the comics, so I guess the next best thing is to pit him against the Dark Knight in a MOC I'll probably do in the near future.
  22. I'm quite surprised no one has commented yet on these extremely impressive Sci-Fi custom minifigs, I'm really impressed with the high level of detailing you've done with these customs. You've surely demonstrated a great mix of various customization techniques - modification of LEGO parts, use of supplementary third-party weapons and accessories, intricate custom paint detailing of the parts - all of which resulted in very unique and aesthetically-pleasing batch of custom figs. Very well done, thanks for sharing these and hope to see more from you! <br><br>EDIT: I see you're a liaison for Arealight, so that explains the use of the patented curved torso. <img class="bbc_emoticon" alt="" src="http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/default/default_laugh_new.gif"> I'm quite a fan of his custom parts too, I actually did a review of his Clone Helmets before, though it's been a while since I've purchased from him. <br>
  23. Great entry sok! I love the overall look, he does fit the Batman-type hero bill. Effective dark blue-blue color combo, excellent choice of parts, and clever use of stickers, really well done! And the fact that it's purist makes it very doable by anyone, which is always a plus. Best of luck!
