Very interesting teaser, knowing it's AC's creation, this promises to be a great diorama. Looking forward for the finished product then.

Nice mini-model of the Nebulon-B Frigate apemax, I think you got the basic shape right using your 'plates-only approach'. The multi-colored brickbuild does look weird, but I guess that's just a prototype (I also do the same technique when starting a certain MOC ) but you could always fix that when you have the right parts. And I agree with the others that if ever you decide to change your approach on this build, you could use a few more pieces other than plates to get more accurate details and you could even go to a larger scale to improve the overall look of this one.

National Geographic's "Megafactories" Lego Episode
XimenaPaulina replied to DLuders's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I finally got the time to watch this episode in its entirety and it's really very informative and insightful on how our beloved plastic bricks are made from scratch all the way how the sets make it their way to the stores. It's also great to know about the humble beginnings of TLG, and how the starting wooden toys became the most popular toy of the modern times. As one who works in a manufacturing facility (though in a much much smaller one and less complicated product), I really appreciated the efficiency and complexity of the production flow and process and all the massive effort they put into making each single piece and element of LEGO sets. Now I completely understand why LEGO costs that much. Thanks for sharing this great find DLuders! -
That's a very good starting design Giovanne, I love the smooth SNOT finish and you really captured the basic shape and features of the Lambda shuttle. It's good to know you're taking the suggestions to improve the design. Looking forward for version 2 then.

General Pirates of the Caribbean Theme Discussion Thread
XimenaPaulina replied to Oswald the Rabbit's topic in LEGO Pirates
Ooh, nice to see TLG is doing this 'cardboarded' instructions even in smaller sets. Hope to see more of these in most sets. -
Now that's better, this TIE/in really looks good, I see this is an improved version of your first one right? I love the 'clean' finish of the wing surfaces. Very nice work!

Happy Birthday to our Fellow, Academy Teacher, and SW MOC Expert - Walter Kovacs! Enjoy your special day buddy! (Happy Birthday to other celebrants as well.)

The decal looks great - very movie accurate and flawlessly applied on the torso. I just wish the arm stripes could've been applied better, but I guess it's quite difficult to do due to the curved surfaces. Still, this is a unique, fresh, and very well done custom from the movies.

Interesting, ingenious and very modern design Ronan! The suspended cross is indeed a pretty neat detail. Good job!

Beautiful, another beautiful creation creation Andy! As always it was truly enjoyable to look at every detail of this build, I particularly like the water wheel and the viewing deck. Excellent work!

Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Season 4 Discussion
XimenaPaulina replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Hope so, it's about time they ditch the triangles and finally bring in the Eta-2s if it's indeed going to be Phase 2 already. Judging from this pic, it looks like this pilot is a variant of the clone shown in Cat and Mouse (Season 2). -
Excellent custom morgan! Your knack for effectively combining non-LEGO elements with LEGO and other custom parts is really impressive and this one is clearly a testament of that.

Thanks Daedalus, I actually thought of using that as well, though I currently don't have that piece at my disposal (read: extremely limited parts). I might look into using that (will go order some in BL), so thanks for pointing it out.

Pretty nice customization you did there on those BARCs lysander, the lightsaber holder on Luminara's is a pretty neat function, and the missile-like details on other two are quite unique. The hovering effect of the BARCs are also well done, though the green base could use a few more details like some additional rock formations. But overall it's still a good build!

Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Season 4 Discussion

I don't think the Gungan is Jar-Jar, since he's wearing a mask and has mad combat skills to even damage Grievous. -
Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Season 4 Discussion
XimenaPaulina posted a topic in Culture & Multimedia
Now that Season 3 is officially over, and a preview for Season 4 has come up, I guess it's time to start a new thread for discussions. Preview Video 1 http://www.youtube.c...-09URHNBFg&hd=1 Another video on StarWars.com Preview Video 2 Looks like the series will visit Mon Calamari. A second look at the Battle of Mon Calamari: Kit Fisto finally in action once again. So I guess this really means they're going to redo the Battle of Mon Cal from '03 the cartoon series. New ship design Grievous vs. Gungan ..and the Gungan wins? Phase 2 clones - The Wolfpack Troopers under Jedi General Plo Koon New 'Bio-hazard looking' Clones A new double-dual-lightsaber wielding Besalisk jedi. Why do I have this feeling that he will be another Nahdar Vebb/Ord Eniscence/Bolla Ropal/Ima Gundi in the making? New Z-95-like starfighter. This one will make for a good mid-sized set IMO. -
Yes, right! Thanks for the suggestion Doc, I'll do that next time (gotta order some screwdrivers from BL).

Yeah I know the harpoons' shape is quite questionable, but I don't know any other piece that has that skinny front. I might have to explore on brick-building that part. With regards to the link, I'm going to look at it. Sorry, I didn't know the proper term to describe it. Nothing's perfect my friend. But I'm quite happy with this one right now, so I would leave the design of this one at the moment. Thanks Mr Man! I know the controls should only be one set, but I really like the double steering vane set-up. I guess this is the case of following what I want even if it's slightly inaccurate. And yes, the 1x1 plate beneath the cheese slope should also be the dark grey, I just ran out of that piece and got lazy to scavenge from my other MOCs.

Very nicely done kyphur! I love the triple theme mash-up of this pod racer (HP-NinjaGo-SW). Great job!

Pretty nice family scene Calvin! I love the cozy interior with instantly recognizable home elements (curtains, piano, floor tile work). Good job!

Q's & A's on instructions, tutorials, scans, book reviews
XimenaPaulina replied to KimT's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Same here, not a fan of minis, but I gotta say this is one of the best-looking minis I've seen - nice color scheme and the overall shape and design is pretty spot-on. -
Classic Mr Man! Your new much-deserved title says it all. Thanks for putting this 'light-hearted' moment amidst all the heated discussions about accuracy.

Terror Of The Witchfinder General!
XimenaPaulina replied to Derfel Cadarn's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Wow another excellent creation Derfel! As always, looking at every inch of your highly-detailed build is very enjoyable. Outstanding work once again! -
Thanks Rob. Ive actually played around on how long should the front part be, and I even did that 1-stud longer that you mentioned. But in the end I went with this one since I thought this is a 'safe' length that's not too long and not to short either (if you look closely, I actually used an illegal 'half-stud connection' just to be in the middle).
