Nice planning, I do the same Excel thing when planning my BL parts purchases. Looking forward to the brickbuilt versions of these minis then.

Yeah I forgot timeline-wise, the Clone Wars happened before Sith so I guess the sloping hull is the original one. And I also agree that the slope at the end of the bike seems noncontinuous, so cheese slopes might be a better solution. Thanks for the suggestion and the kind words Mr Man.

Yep, that's an old custom when I did the Arealight SW Clone Helmets review. Thanks LT. The foot pedals were one of the last additional details I did, good thing I still have some 'tricks left in the bag' to be able to squeeze it in there.

General Pirates of the Caribbean Theme Discussion Thread
XimenaPaulina replied to Oswald the Rabbit's topic in LEGO Pirates
Same here, I have to re-allocate some of my SW budget just to get that oh-so-beautiful QAR. If the 4194 review is any indication, I'm pretty sure QAR will be amazing. Can't wait to finally grab one. -
Very impressive collection of 7-wide vehicles danthaman! All three look really great and most importantly, they can actually fit multiple minifigs inside. I really like the cool-looking black car with the orange race stripes, but the SUVs are equally great too. The taxi is ok, but I think you forgot to put the basic element - passenger seats at the back. But overall, excellent job on all of these.

What other SW "Battle Packs" would you like to see?
XimenaPaulina replied to BearHeart's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I think specific jedi characters are really not fit for the Battle Pack category, we'd likely see them in magnet sets or as key chains, but never in a BP. On the other hand, a generic jedi BP which has been already suggested several times would make for a great BP IMO, just like what pedro did for a contest entry. I also think we'll be getting a Phase II clone trooper BP once the current TCW series shifts into Phase II. And the 'jedi with horns' is Saesee Tiin. -
Congratulations for completing this project mutley! For the nth time, this is simply an amazing collection of uniquely colored dark red CW Y-Wings. How I wish I could do the same for my Razor Squadron ARC-170s.

[REVIEW] 2263 Turbo Shredder
XimenaPaulina replied to Ritz Brick's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Nice review Ritz, thanks for sharing! I'm not a fan of NinjaGo but there are some 'few gems' that are quite interesting in this set, particularly Frakjaw's hat and the colored flame piece. I think the gap on Jay's eyebrow is supposed to be a scar, but your Cole seems to have a slight misprint on the eye area. -
Now this is something I will surely buy if this was an official set. Great choice of action theme, very nice selection of useful parts and minifigs, simply an outstanding entry overall. Impressive work once again Oky!

D2C Contest: The City Connection
XimenaPaulina replied to Tazmaniac's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Oh wow, truly an excellent creation TazManiac! I love how 'packed' in parts this would be if ever this was made into a set (and a very expensive one). Nice use of the CMS bases for the road too. -
Done and Done! Now that was a breeze to answer.

Yes, there has been already 10 astromechs made (excluding the heads-only R4-G9 and R4-P17): R1-G4 R2-D2 R2-Q2 R2-Q5 R2-R7 R4-P44 R5-D4 R7-A7 R7-F5 R8-B7 Now I'm envious to the winners.

Thanks Doc. It looks like I'm stuck with my reputation of modifying official sets even if this one was entirely designed and built from scratch. I understand that it highly resembles the 7913 BARC due to the ski and harpoon pieces, which are, IMO, the best available pieces to represent their respective parts in the real BARC speeder. Nice to hear that. For a while I thought I was the only one who's thinking that this is not too big minifig-scale wise.
-
Thanks Solscud. I guess I should've taken a pic of this side-by-side with the official BP BARC to clearly show the major differences. And just wait for Part 2 for the blue and other BARC variants.
-
Very nice attempt at designing a mini AT-OT Solscud, it fits with the official Dropship pretty well. I agree, as far as I can remember the Brickmaster dropship was coupled with the AT-TE. Though I'm not sure if there is an official mini AT-OT, as I maybe just confusing it with the several MOCs I've seen (like Doc's).
-
Thanks prateek. Actually, I am concerned about the scale to the minifig. The problem is the difference in the individual perception of each viewer on what is 'true' minifig scale. The way I see my version, I think it's just about the right size, just look at the length of the BARC with respect to the clone troopers: I love it, and that's what's most important to me at the end of the day.

After a relatively long MOCing break, I finally had the time to whip up my first MOC of the year, even if it is a small build - the BARC Speeder. Since I still don't have a decent speeder bike for my clone army (my made-up BARC-X nor the new BP BARC won't do it for me), I decided to take the challenge of building this 'tricky' vehicle. After several hours of trial and error, I came up with a version that I'm quite satisfied with, in terms of overall shape, design, and the required elements. Note that this is the clone wars version, so the bar thingy is modified with a sloping hull part. BARC Speeder Specifications Comparison with the 7913 BARC Speeder For those who are wondering, here are the significant improvements of this version over the official BARC speeder : - More accurate shape and detailing of the front engine turbine repulsor and side air intakes - Sleeker front part by using a 1-stud width and more accurate longer slope piece - Added the twin steering vanes and foot pedal details Other Views A Closer Look at the BARC Speeder ______________ Version 2.0 Modifications made: 1. After realizing (lately) that the 2-slope wide rear part is too blocky, I decided to follow the BP BARC 1-slope set-up with some minor mods and following Mr Man's suggestions of using cheese wedges for a more continuous transition to a sloping end. I'm now happy with the slimmer shape and getting that grey patch detail at the rear. Here's the reference image of the slim rear part. 2. I replaced the ski rear flaps with 1x2 tiles as suggested by DobbyClone. The size is much better now. Reference image . I laud your dedication to customization then.

The hat is now perfect! The brassoed Jango Fett head is also well done. But I hope that's just a spare head or you really messed up a rare and expensive minifig?
-
Pretty neat mods on the official CITY vehicles ukaskew, I like the Prisoner Transport-to-Burger Van transformation. Well done!

Street Fighter minifigure project
XimenaPaulina replied to mo123567's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
I'm lovin' your purist approach on these SF customs mo123567, I think you managed to get the look of each character pretty well without any advanced customization techniques. Great job so far and looking forward to see the remaining SF characters. -
Not really bad for your first steampunk build brickmack, thought I'm not a fan of huge <insert that tiresome argument> pieces. Still, nice work on this one.

Wow, astromechs galore! Congrats to the three lucky winners! Be sure to 'share' with us your prizes through pictures.

Mightily impressive creation! Everything is... perfect! It's really enjoyable to look at every bit of detail on this massive and beautiful build. Simply an outstanding work and thanks for sharing this with us!
