  1. No No No A thousand times NO! If LEGO ever fell to Hasbro expect a sharp drop in brick quality, hideous re-issues and cost cutting measures to get every last dime out of each piece mold casting, poor avalibility and case assortments, retailer exclusives impossible to find or afford, a piss-poor online shopping option, a deficit of creativity, and a company so unconcerned with what AFOLs or even basic consumers would love to see as to make Microsoft look like Santa Claus. Hasbro would be a total, unmitigated, f##king disaster... Plus, did you see those Built-To-Rule sets a few years back? :P
  2. Added Starscream last night...it was quite a challenge taking one of the most godawful molds in Transformers history and trying to make something decent out of it :-D
  3. Wait...is it just another Minifig scale X-wing or a UCS? If it's Minifig scale perhaps we will get a Wedge or something new with it...perhaps different colors even *y* And I suppose it's too much to hope the TIE "Advanced" they're talking about here is the TIE Avenger model and not that tired old x1 prototype ...yeah...probably not
  4. Sounds like a solid move to me...I'm not the least bit worried ;-)
  5. Yeah, LEGO is sending legs to anyone who asks as chronicled here: http://eurobricks.hosting.ipsyn.com/eurofo...?showtopic=5118 so you make TWO people who have gotten their Mecha-1 legs already! I personally haven't gotten my legs yet...but our mail service here sucks hard so I'm not worried
  6. Okay...let's give this a shot
  7. For you UOT fans I hope LEGO re-releases the original versions of the Y-Wing, X-wing, A-Wing, B-wing, Speeder Bikes, and the Snowspeeder...without the recent improvements :-P
  8. Nice ideas...my thoughts... * Escape pod - Wake me up if they do something interesting ;) * At-ST - Absolutley needs a redesign. * Endor speeder bikes - Meh * Y-Wing - The last of the Rebel fighters in need of a face lift...the newer curved bricks would make this ship super-slick nowadays. * Twin Pod Cloud Car - Orange please
  9. NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs!!! Oh...wait...nobody in Europe cares about North American hockey... come to think of it, nobody in the United States cares about north american hockey :-P
  10. :-D Actually I remembered that pic from your review while I was trying to shoehorn it onto shelves...didn't look right anywhere unfortunatly :-P
  11. So I've got the Striking Venom all assembled and ready to go on display in my Den somewhere and I'm finding out I have nowhere the bloody thing will fit! Shelves aren't deep enough, Big square surfaces already house whole themes and really can't be moved...it's a display nightmare unless I can like...mount it on the wall like I did Slave I or something. So while I try to figure this out, I ask other owners of the SV, where have you ended up putting that monster?
  12. Hey, a Minifig-scale Bionicle set that seems to be centered around "vehicles" Now we're talking *y*
  13. A few thousand US dollars
  14. Well, it says "Hasbro and LEGO", so from that I'd say both. However it could always be a spokesman who doesn't know what he's talking about and it's neither :-P That's a very distinct possibility :P It's also possible they could just be older sets but in some sort of newe "Original Trilogy" packaging like they had a couple years back...repackages of the X-Wing, TIE Fighter, Falcon, Mos Eisley set, Snowspeeder, B-wing, A-Wing etc.
  15. That'd be ACE Hardware Premium brand metallic spraypaint in chrome. I love that paint, its some of the most well behaved and visually pleasing paint I've found. I'm always looking for excuses to chrome something out
  16. The paint I use ranges from all kinds and brands. Mostly I use regular oil based spray paints that you can get from any retail store and common model paints for the main colors, then use acrylic craft paints or small bottle model paints for detailing. There is even a paint called Fusion made by Krylon that's formulated specificly to work on plastic. So, I'm guessing your past troubles could have a lot to do with past paint quality, there's a lot out there nowadays. The only paint I would never reccomend are latex based sprays or anything with rust protection in it (which is a shame since those always seem to have the colors I'm looking for :-P )
  17. Nope, those are all real-deal paint and plastic toys. I couldn't do a digital repaint if I tried. And thanks...Krok is one of my all-time personal favorite creations and I always like it when someone else apreciates what I was going for with him
  18. For any of you interested in Transformers (I know there's at least a couple of you ;-) ) you might get a kick out of this. For the past few years I've been doing custom Transformer repaints and sticking them under the banner of Transformers: Legacy. I hadn't gotten one finished in a year or so, and I finally managed to get around to a new one and finished today (Cosmos) so I figured I'd just post here in case anyone cared to look. Transformers: Legacy Now I must warn you, the bandwidth on my webspace is crap so it could go out at any time, so please forgive me if you get a dead link, just try again in 24 hours :-P Anyhow, the philosophy behind these are to take one mold and transfer the colors from another toy onto it as faithfully as possible...that's why some look as if they would be better with more or different colors. And don't be confused by the "story". The plot is told sort of like if it were on toy packaging; through the front page blurb and information in the bios, so don't feel like you're missing anything. Not all of the creations are mine, but the majority are. So, enjoy!
  19. So anyway... What do you think our chances are of getting some more White Lightning-scale Exo-Frames? I lind of like the design, sort of mid way between the smaller class Mechs and the standard ones
  20. That was from the email the LEGO Direct service sent me in confirmation. I think if you want to request legs of your own you have to go through the customer service section of their site like I did http://www.lego.com/eng/service/contactusform.asp All they need you to do is fill in what the problem is, give your mailing address and email address, and boom, you're good to go Well it's not a race here LT ;-) I was just saying that between us two we'll be able to inform everyone as to how fast we get them, if they're the correct color, what kind of "apology letter" we get from LEGO, etc.
  21. Sent my request yesterday and got the reply today
  22. Forget that...howabout they release that Super Star Destroyer...I can save up for one! *wub*
  23. My only theory on this is that LEGO is trying to get a feel from casual Star Wars fans as to what sets they'd like and not so much people who normally buy LEGO sets. Otherwise the choices make no sense. A pair of droids, a "Frankenstein's Monster" between the System AT-AT and the Mindstorm version, and the rather boring Vulture Droid/Starfighter...there has to be some unseen logic beneath this because there's no obvious logic :-P All this tells me for sure is that there's no chance in Hell we'll ever get UCS versions of the Assault Gunboat or a Yuuzhan Vong Coralskipper
  24. NONE OF THE ABOVE! That's more like it At the very least they could just reissue or redo the X-Wing and TIE Interceptor :-/
