Oh swell...now I'll have to keep Brickmaster just to get the Bionicle comics..

There's a number of larger sets ready to pop up on store shelves in the coming months, and since I was having some difficulty sorting through random snatches of information in long and ponderous threads, I figured getting them together in one place would be a good idea. So... 6210 Sail Barge 6210 Star Destroyer 7783 Batcave - General Release 7784 UCS Batmobile "778X" Arkham Asylum - TRU Exclusive Now I'm fairly certain of the release status of Arkham and the Batcave, but the others I'm unsure of. I think one or the other of the Star Wars ones was supposed to be an exclusive of some kind. Any help here would be most apreciated

Lego movie from Python Holy Grail sketch

HAW! Thanks for the link! I was so disapointed when LEGO lost that from their site a couple years back, now I finally get to see it again -
wait...we do? 8-|

BAH! The time zones made me get duped...I call shenanigans since it's still March 31 here in the EST zone. You Euros will pay for this outrage! :-P See, I'm being sneaky over on my own board and waiting until it's midnight in all my users time zones before I pull my stunt
-
Some of the other stuff in that folder is stuff I've seen in LEGO stores...so perhaps that's it for now? 8-|

So who's your favourite singer/band
Deinonychus replied to Sarg_Kulo's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Hmmm... (runs through list) Metallica has sort of gone downhill and seemingly disappeared, Megadeth and Pantera are defunct... Guess that leaves GWAR -
HAW! that's great! :-D (runs off to post elsewhere)

Just remember this is the same UN that thought bombing the living hell out of the Smurfs for a Unicef ad would help get their point across... No better way to shame people into social awareness then by crappping all over our childhood icons |-/

I'll say, how could you afford one after gathering all the pieces for that? :-D
-
Sure can And here's the rest of Alpha-Force X-D

I'm willing to bet that "normal version" is just a prototype box image. I could be wrong, but I seriously doubt there'd be two products that similar with so few differences

The world now shudders at the prospect of a mini-Me The stand is actually part of the central support axis that runs up poles of the battle station and connects to the horizontal support beams that radiate out to the equator. It's a variety of these Technic type beams http://www.bricklink.com/PL/32278.gif I'm not sure how many pieces it is in total, but not as many as you'd think...and I personally don't think it's strong enough. As it is, the whole thing leans to the right quite a bit and probably in another 6 months or so I'm going to tear the whole center support structure apart and rebuild it just so the weight-stress wont warp the pieces.
-
It weighs roughly 10 pounds and as far as difficulty, an 11 year old could handle it I suppose. As far as the average attention-span of 11 year olds these days...I kinda doubt it

Wow...an old-school LEGO figure keychain...that's definatly worth getting *wub* I've had a basic red brick keychain on my keys for the past several years now...the only problem is, over time they tend to erode down and get all rounded off...so every time I go to the LEGO Shop I buy one or two so I can keep rotating fresh ones onto my keys
-
Yeah...looks like you're better off keeping those as two seperate mechs instead of one big one. Ah well...they can't all be great...at least it gives you a good way to kill an hour or so ;-)

Review: 7780 Batman - The Batboat: Hunt for Killer Croc
Deinonychus replied to Vader's topic in LEGO Licensed
Now, this is just me nitpicking and being comic-geeky, but after building this set I've decided they really should have called it the Hover-Bat or something like that, because the vehicle that comes with the Batcave looks a LOT more like the Batboats we've come to expect from the comics. But, like I said, that's just me being nitpicky, as a set I like the Batboat a lot more then I thought I would, and it looks great next to the rest of Batman's vehicles -
You may need to update your video player or something...I've had that "multiple commercials and no video" problem before and that has usually solved it *yoda*

Okay, so I'm assuming most of you Europeans probably haven't been exposed to this particualar Japanese export yet, but I'm willing to bet some of the North American EBers have seen the TV cooking show Iron Chef and may get a kick out of this little video I ran across...it gave me a chuckle at least http://www.ifilm.com/ifilmdetail/460262?htv=12

I had some downtime at work today, and thankfully I had a LEGO set on-hand to mess with. Perhaps it's the Exo-Force influence, but I whipped this Deep Sea Mech up out of parts from the Sea Machines Designer set. (4505) I'm calling it the Trench Stalker You're probably thinking the legs look a little fragile and unsturdy...well you're right, but because of the small pieces I had to work with for the legs, I was also able to add a little rotational articulation to them at the hips, so it's not all bad. Pretty much your basic "hunchbacked" mech up top, although I like how I was able to make "fingers" out of the antenna. And, from all the junk I had to stack up to make the torso, I put in a little auxiliary cockpit in the rear. Yeah, not that impressive, but not bad for using limited parts just to kill time
