  1. Actually, LEGO Star Wars sets won a Toy of the Year Award from the Toy Industry Association this year... http://www.starwars.com/collecting/news/le...ws20060213.html
  2. I'm hoping for more vehicles. It's easy to do stuff like a Bat-Sub or a Bat-copter...or even something completley weird like a Bat-Mech! Also, Batman's history of vehicles has been so wide and varied I'd love to see new and different versions of the Batmoblie, Plane, Boat, etc. LEGO is really only limited here by how many of any type of vehicle they want to do. Bad-guy vehicles could work more as well...Mr. Freeze is screaming for a Cryo-Tank of some sort. And as long as they keep producing Minifigs of different characters I'm in. I hope they don't go heavily into play-scenes, but I have a feeling it'll head that way eventually. Either way my wallet is ready
  3. That dragon reminds me of that armored dragon-thing from the last Lord of the Rings movie. Can't wait to add that to my little Vikings scene I've got going on *y*
  4. I'd say it's pretty certain the regular set instructions will be in there too...all the other big combination sets have had the individual instructions, this will most assuredly be no different
  5. Well this also begs the question of, if you're only getting Toa one or two at a time, which ones are you choosing first? I couldn't decide between Matoro, Nuparu or Hahli so I had the Wife choose for me I'm thinking Jaller or Kongu will be last in line...depending on any interesting character developments in the books that is ;-)
  6. I tossed my "Canister of the Month" , Hahli onto my order when I put in for the UCS AT-ST last weekend...I should have her on Monday...can hardly wait *wub*
  7. Here is some info on that... The word 'krake' is Norw. in origin. It means (a sickly beast or twisted.) kraken is the noun form. It was probably a more common term. Anyway, getting back to sets. I'm working on mocs of the giant and the kraken. I'll post them when I work out the kinks. I don't have all the parts to make exact replicas, but maybe I can even improve them more to my liking using my available inventory. Sweet!
  8. Hungh...interesting...I always pictured Grendel as a sort of hulking man-beast around the size of the Incredible Hulk or something, but further Googling shows he may have been intended as simply a large warrior. Learn something new every day Or perhaps it's Grendel's mother and she's just one beast of a woman! :-P Could also be one of the numbers of various trolls and such in Norse mythology. I recall Frost Giants or Mountain Trolls being in there somewhere...
  9. I nearly dumped myself when I saw that picture :-D As for the price, it's a Target exclusive in the US. And last year they had all the $20 Titans together for $50, so I'm guessing this set might be around $50 or $60 US...however much that is in Euros I'm not sure, but $30 seems a little wild ;-)
  10. Hmmm...I'm not getting Minotaur from that. If anything I'm getting a vibe like it's supposed to be some hulking humanoid beast like Grendel or somesuch.
  11. If my Hahli arrives before anyone else puts some pics and descriptions up for you guys I'll be sure to include an in-depth look at her back
  12. Awww...aren't trolls cute when their feelings get hurt?
  13. Okay, in the past week or so I've added a self-serving Dinobot repaint made into my online Avatar (as most of you have probably seen off to the left over here <-------- ) and I just put up a Centurion robot from the old UK comic series. Here's the link to my site again so you don't have to go back to the topics's first page. http://bellsouthpwp.net/d/e/deinonychus/legacy/ So, nothing too spectacular recently, but I've finally started on one of my long-planned biggest projects, so look forward to that one ;-)
  14. I don't know about Megabloks... I know they have the licence for Marvel comic characters, but sometimes with licences the regular comic/show/book/etc. is a whole different deal then the movie licence. While I'll bet they probably have the movie licence by now, it's not a foregone conclusion. Even before when LEGO had Spider-Man 2 sets, there was another set of building blocks put out by a seperate company with some Marvel characters (including Spidey) on the shelves at the same time. I'll try to do some research and come up with a name here in a bit. That being said, I highly doubt LEGO would go there again. They seem to be cultivating a partnership with WB/DC and the Spider-Man sets didn't do that great at retail last time. I recently got the biggest $50 set from a closeout store for $20 myself. But as a fan I'd love to get as many LEGO superheroes as I could get. As it is I'm dreading the day when little Minifig Spidey, Goblin, and Ock make the trek across the room to meet up with Batman and his baddies ;-) EDIT - Here's those other Spidey building toys. Weren't easy to find by the way. They were called Xblocks and put out by a company called Popular Toys http://64.34.172.56/g/albums/Marvel/XBlock...rvelXBlocks.jpg Although some of the pieces in that Hulk set look halfway decent
  15. ...stole my line :-D I think it's just a promotional price thing in the category of "why the hell not" It's not like they're specially packaged in the same box. Personally I'm looking forward to picking up the Minifig-scale ISD so I can build that sucker into a Victory-class Star Destroyer in scale with the ISD
  16. I've seen a lot of helicoptors you need a ladder to get into :-P And speaking of that chopper, that is one of the slickest vehicles LEGO has put out in a long time. The Hummer is nice looking too, if not way too big, I'll grant that. The other vehicles are mostly forgetable but the Helicoptor is pure money. Plus, the minifigs were pretty sweet too. Yeah, they could have come up with a little more then 4 characters, but the Dino-Team is one sweet little brick Spec-Ops force As to the weapons, I don't think they were going for "high-tech" so much as "non-lethal" ;-) So I dug it, sad to see it probably wouldn't continue...but it proved LEGO can force themselves to do modern-looking military vehicles
  17. If I recall correctly, the 2 new Vikings sets will be released in North America as Toys R Us exclusives in the early fall...September I believe *y*
  18. (Glares at TRU so they'll hurry up and have one of thier famous "Buy two get one free" sales)
  19. :-D I was afraid that might have a little raw language in it, if the Mods need to remove the link I understand ;-) At least now I know this kid wasn't getting all bent out of shape over some supposed internet relationship...although that woulda been really funny :-P
  20. Well back to German (I think German at least) can someone tell me what this kid is going on about? http://www.ebaumsworld.com/videos/hissyfit.html Eventhough i can't understand him it's still funny
  21. HAW! How cool is that! Thanks
  22. Probably like a lot of us when I was a kid I did some fully functioning Transformers out of LEGOs...but as an adult I've always run across problems with getting the right parts in the right colors to do anything decent. However this guy I know of who calls himself The Librarian has posted some awesome LEGO Transformers over here at the Transfandom Forums. his stuff is magnificent (I personally dig his Insecticons) and pretty much beats anything I could even try to do. ;-)
  23. True to their word 14 days later, I now have Mecha One's legs! His gams His pins his stems his getaway sticks He's a complete robot finally...thanks LEGO *y*
