  1. Looks like a hot day to be in full march! They must have some desperate unit in need of relief to get to. Only pirates and zulus would pick a fight on such a hot day.
  2. I happen to have it on the highest of authority that the bluecoats are infact British Royal Navy. I like the ship. It is way better than I could do if I ever try to build one from scratch. The red is a little hard on the eye's but I imagine it makes it way easier to swab the decks after a bloody battle. Good job
  3. Very nice MOC. I hope the Red Coat Captain wins his duel and escapes without being vaporized in the explosion!
  4. Pirates all the way! I throw all Star Wars lego in the items to sell to someone else bin. Can't stand them with only three for four parts exceptions they are useless to me. Star Wars was awsome... then they wrecked it with the new movies....wrecked it.... no amount of lego can fix that...they are the worst! I need a drink. I thought I was over this years ago...wrecked it...wrecked it...
  5. Venkman (sp?) is perfect. I love that movie. That was the first one I got to see in the theater as a kid with my friends and without parental supervision.
  6. Indeed, Welcome. The pirate formus are specially great.
  7. Many happy returns to all!
  8. Most recently I picked up 35 Governor torsos, 35 red epaulettes, and 70 of the new shakos for about $70 (I tried that frowned apon way we don't discuss here) and it works fine. I also bought 5 more medieval Market village sets at the normal cost. I have all 12 that I need now. I also got 25 islanders off EBay for $50.
  9. So much to look at. The meat is awsome. I was just trying to think of a way to represent meat last weekend. I like your better. My version was more of a roast. Great job on all the vegitation and I like the birds you built as well.
  10. Me too. I loved that set. Really nice interview. Thanks for sharing. I also used to build the different lessons from history. Thanks for all you do to keep the site going. Great job.
  11. Great review. This set is perfect. I remember a few years ago when I was heavily collecting and cannons where expensive and hard to come by. It was especially hard to acquire shooting one that actually worked. I bought 50+ of this set and I'll buy more...mark my words...more...more...I'm going now!
  12. That's one of my favorites. I have two. You won't be sorry when you pick one up!
  13. Great survey! Thanks Bring Back the Blue Coats!
  14. Very nice design. I have to spend some time figuring out these cool customs. I need some!
  15. I have also been toying with the idea of turning the Vicking long boat into a slave galley as a believe the Spanish still had a few in service during the nepoleonic wars to race out of port and snatch up becalmed ships as easy prizes.
  16. Those are really great. Perhaps I will have to have a plague outbreak at the old port!
  17. I struck out as well. Maybe later.
  18. Over the weekend the Lego Store at Hillsdale Mall in San Mateo California had a building event. Lego brought in master builders and tons of parts to construct an 8 foot tall Brickbeard. Kids built large brick sections out regular bricks and the master builder used them to build the sculpture. It was very impressive to see the hundreds of kids hard at work. I brought my seven year old and five year old daughters to the event to take part. My seven year old won a lego tee shirt for being the only kid who could answer this question...What was the first year that Lego pirates set sail... I might have helped her out a little but it was extremely funny to see a little girl wade through a crowd of screaming ten year old boys who couldn't get the right answer to deliver the correct one...the master builder looked a little stunned Unfortunately I forgot my camera
  19. Welcome Aboard! This is a great pirate site. Always fun to have a fellow army builder in our presence. You have a very nice army. I like the fort. The star fort seems to be the flavor of the month. I like the color scheme should be interesting to see it completed. I use the blue coats and red coats as part of the same forces. Blue for naval officers red for ground forces. Most here seem to favor the blue as French and red as British but to each their own.
  20. An excellent little MOC. Finally the soldiers can take their revenge for the massacre in White Fang's Holding the Last Fort MOC. Blue Coats..avenge your fallen comrades! Kill the pirate scum! Return the body of your fallen captain!
  21. She is very very beautiful. It is an extremely impressive design feat! My only comment is that somehow her masts seem too low relative to the deck house and that front mast strikes me as strange but perhaps I am just not familar with that type of configuration. Really great job.
  22. I've picked up some great deals on craig's list over the years as well. You have to be fast and vigilant because it is very competitive but you can get great deals and lots of bricks for very little money (relatively speaking). Unless people are being unreasonable about the price don't try and haggle because the sells get inudated with offers and interested parties. I just sold through craigs list 35 lbs of space and train and other parts I had separated out over the years and the response was overwhelming. Cool skull cave by the way!
  23. That's one of the best custom armies I have seen. Great job with all the detail and variety.
  24. I also like the use of blue. Lots of great realistic action. I like it. Great job with the photos too. They really look good!
  25. Awsome...I agree completely. That is something I just do not have the patience or skill to do well.
