Classic LEGO at school!
Commodore Hornbricker replied to Emperor Claudius Rome's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Yes very recently in fact. I was at the post office mailing some Lego to fellow member (one of the prizes I donated to the Tournament of Retribution) and the older guy working behind the counter helping me told me he had a big box in his garage he'd had since he was a kid. I paid $40 for 20+ lbs of 1970's lego that same afternoon. Kind of made me believe in karma. -
Very well done. The figures look great. I wouldn't change a thing.

HA! That's pretty good. I like it.

I like if for no other reason than I haven't seen a lot of Power Miner MOC's. I have kinda been liking that green more and more lately. Nice MOC.

[MOC] Duel in the Ruins
Commodore Hornbricker replied to Thunder-blade's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Cool and the stairs look good. I don't know why but I am hoping the guy with the axe wins. -
I sense something big and blue on the way

Nice. I guess if you roll this high performance racing boat the engine turns around and eats you. Very clever.

Some things I've been working on...
Commodore Hornbricker replied to the land lovin' pirate's topic in Pirate MOCs
So true. You have 48 hours to declare or be branded a pirate and hunted by both sides! I love what you have done. Anytime I see those blue sails appear in a MOC I know I am going to like it. I'd love to see more pictures of the ship. It looks like you did a good job in upgrading her. You fort looks nice as well. I like how you added the tunnel and the extra water to the right. Very nice. Will you be expanding on what you have started. If so, I look forward to your future posts. -
Very nice. It certainly would look nice standing next to Market Street. I agree with other that few extra details would break up the tan a little. Otherwise, it is a very nice MOC. I like the backside balcony very much. It there an interior?

I was very very excited to win 6280 the Armada Flagship today on Ebay for only $40! This was the only ship from the Pirate's theme that I did not own at least one of. Now I feel complete and I can save my pennies for the new Imperial Flagship....so happy.

I always like the colorful towns and buildings and you have done a wonderful job with yours. It reminds me of a fully complete large scale classic-town that Lego might have built back in the day. Very nice.

Now that is absolutely spectacular! It captures the feel perfectly of a classic European capital city. The achitectural stylings are fantastic. The details and the colors are beautiful. I love your blue roofs. I am very impressed and inspired by your creations. Congratulations on an amazing one of a kind city.

Fantastic. The church is my favorite. I love the little piles of snow that sit on the outcropings. It has a wonderful feeling. Makes me wish I had me skies with me right now.

That is a great MOC. I like how you used the green. Its kind of unusual but it works nicely. My only suggestion would be to make the snow on the roofs thicker. It would look a little more realistic I think.

Great Bus. The long version is so interesting. I have never seen one like it.

Shipwreck Hideout - not so limited anymore?
Commodore Hornbricker replied to Lorentzen's topic in LEGO Pirates
I didn't know that. Over the years I have had lots of sets shipped from over seas and I never noticed they didn't have the piece count on the box. Funny. Now I know. Thanks -
Well it is a classic Pirate set so you can't go wrong with that. I love islanders and have loads but there doesn't seem to much special about this set other than its a classic.

Awesome! When do we get to see the Union sets?

Confederate Supply Wagon
Commodore Hornbricker replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Your theme just gets better and better. Great wagon. -
That seems like a pretty challenging micro build. I am actually surprised by how good it turned out. Really nice.

I finally got around to buying the Emerald Night.

That is a cool piece. I have a few from the original sets they came in. I bought a used 20lb lot off Craigslist the other day and wouldn't you know it had one of those in it!
