Discussion: LEGO Action Themes Reviews Index
ILikePi replied to WhiteFang's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
You forgot to add 8707 Boulder Blaster to the Power Miners index. There's no review for it, though (the one on EB has broken pictures). http://shop.lego.com/product/?p=8707 http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=8707-1 Never mind, it's already there. -
I agree. Red buttons are scary. Why couldn't they have put green buttons for the boxes? EDIT: Nice display, though!

Thanks for the awesome review, CopMike and Hinckley! What you said in those videos were hilarious! This set looks really good, (and futuristic) but unfortunately, I probably won't be able to get it, as there are so many sets coming out this year. Those play features and minifigures are amazing. I voted above average, since it is a bit pricy.

Wow, nice find! I thought that it was a Wal-Mart exclusive, though. Or is that only for the U.S.? Will we be seeing a review soon?
-
Wow, that's a really nice MTT, The Penguin! Those droid gunners also look awesome. What did you use to make them? Sharpies?
-
I know it came from the Home One set, but that doesn't come out until August. I was just wondering how you and Hinckley managed to get the set.
-
That's a hilarious picture there, Hinckley. By the way, is this yours, or someone else's? If it's yours, how did you get the Mon Calamari head? It's an Arealight scooter, and it'll be available soon from BrickForge. I don't know about the berets, though.

Thanks for finding that. So, does that mean it's not for sale? It says "Promotional Product" where the "Add to Cart" button usually is. I wish it was for sale...$4.99 is a steal compared to the chrome silver Stormtroopers.

I'm a weird online store that sells clothes, buttons, and stickers with the words "i like π" and a picture of the pi sign on everything. http://www.ilikepi.com/

Happy (late) second birthday, YG-49! I hope you get lots of Duplo, since you can choke from small LEGO pieces, hence all of those warnings on boxes saying that LEGO bricks aren't for kids ages 3 and under.

I always keep forgetting to post here... Two days ago, I got a large PaB cup ($14.99 USD) and a PaB grab bag ($7.99 USD). However, the odd thing is that the cup weighs around 20 ounces, (1 lb 4 oz) and the grab bag weighs exactly one pound. That means that I paid two times the price for 4 more ounces of stuff! Well, not really, since for the cups, you get to pick what you want. However, the grab bag has parts that aren't on the wall anymore (I also got a metallic silver wheel instead of the usual grey inside my bag! ).

Wow, those are some really good deals. I wish I could use eBay...
-
Thanks for the review, Millacol! This is a pretty good battle pack for $10, but I don't like how around half of all the pieces are droids parts...
-
Thanks for this awesome first post review, mrpolyonymous! The pictures are great and the text is also really good. I hope to see more reviews in the future! By the way, welcome to EuroBricks!

Thanks for the great review of this well known minifig. I can't wait to see more of these!

You're only allowed to get one piece at a time. They didn't allow anyone to get a handful, or the person would be disqualified. EDIT: I have more pictures and a video of a kid winning a chrome Vader, which I'll upload over the next few days.
-
Well, its actually hard over there since the parts are all mixed, and there are around 3-4 other people grabbing at the box at the same time, so their arms cover the box, which means that you can't find the parts easily. Also, the two kids on each side of you are really close to you. I could probably have made around 10 if I was just sitting down by myself.

You have to participate to get a magnet. The event was like this: There are 12 people at a time, and you have to build as many Darth Vaders as you can in one minute. It's actually really hard, since I was overexcited (which made my hands shaky ). I could only build 2 (around 6 other people also built 2), while the fastest could build 3 (a girl ). The winner gets a chrome Vader... The event was for kids ages 6-14 only, so it might be rare to AFOLs, since the only way they can get it is by taking their kids to the event. Link to a picture (it's pretty huge, I didn't have time to resize it): http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/ILikePi/...d-Build/007.jpg

I'm guessing that the keychain will be available as a normal product, since there is a product number for it.
-
Well, I went to that Darth Vader speed build thing, and it was hard... You get one minute to build as many Darth Vader minifigs as you can, but I could only build two as I was really sweaty and my hands were shaky from excitement. The winner built three, and was a 10 or so year old girl (you win a chrome Vader)... Oh well, I thought that I wouldn't win anyways... By the way, the event was for people ages 6-14, Oky Wan. EDIT: Here are some pictures: (will add pics later)

There is a site called BrickBuildr that has inventories of some PaB walls, but not for Günzburg. Maybe you can e-mail the person who runs the site if they could add the PaB wall for there. http://www.brickbuildr.com/view/pab/

This is what a LEGO Store calendar looks like: And the back: These pictures belong to Flickr member TooMuchDew, by the way. EDIT: Change pictures from the May 2009 calendar to the June 2009 calendar.

That's an awesome factory, Ricecracker! I especially like all of the small details you added, but most of all, the huge varieties of sausages.

None of the links work for me. Nice prologue, though.

Thanks for taking your time to make this review for us, prateek! It's a really good one (good pictures and text) for a first review. I never saw this set before, so thanks for reviewing it. The elephant looks so cute! So does that mean that you bought like 12 "Lunchmate" thingies (the elephants are still available for 60 points, and the site says that each box of food has 5 points)?
