  1. Thanks for the review KimT! The really long flick-fire missiles are odd (a flick-fire piece on another flick-fire piece ), but the overall set looks like a great deal! Lots of dark blue, a rocket droid commander, and a new printed design on the ball cockpit pieces!
  2. Thanks for posting that Svelte! I can't believe that I completely missed it when scanning FBTB's front page! It's interesting how it only has 118 pieces, though. It seemed like a lot more. Also, it's odd how only Construct-A-Zurg is an exclusive set for the January 2010 wave. Perhaps it's because of the large amount of purple pieces? EDIT: Ah, after looking at the first page, it does seem to have many larger pieces (including some Bionicle ones, the half cylinders, and the big cape).
  3. Wow! Thanks for the find KimT! My thoughts: 8089 Hoth Wampa Cave Hooray, another chance to get a snowspeeder! I missed out on the 2007 set, so this makes me happy! The design of the cave looks very cool for an official LEGO set, and the Wampa looks interesting! Hopefully the Rebel pilot isn't Zev Senesca, because I don't want two of him. I also like how TLG is extending the lineup of Hoth sets so you can recreate all of those things that happen there! I'll probably be getting this, as it seems to be a $30-$50 USD set. 8093 Plo Koon's Starfighter Not much special (except for printed bricks and the new astromech) - it looks like a recolor of the other starfighters! I won't be getting this, even if it is a cheaper way to get a Plo Koon and a new astromech droid. It looks to be a $20-$25 USD set. 8095 Grievous' Starfighter Wow! You get a new Grievous (with a new torso!), Nahdar Vebb, and what seems to be EV-A4-D, his repair droid (I really liked the look of him in the TV series). The starfighter is much larger now, but that cockpit looks pretty odd. Hopefully that will change later on! I'll probably be buying this for the awesome minifigs. Not completely sure, but I think that it's going to be $30-$40 USD. 8096 Palpatine's Shuttle I like it, but it does seem a bit odd with the thin plates as wings instead of bricks (at least for the top wing). This will be a great way to get a new Palpatine, Darth Vader, clone pilot, and medical droid, which all look awesome! Unfortunately I don't think I'll getting this. I like it very much, but there are lots of other sets I want too! It seems to be $50-$70 USD, since, as ADHO15 said, it looks to be the same size as the Republic Attack Shuttle set (or a bit larger). 8097 Slave 1 Looks very cool, but the colors are a bit random. Hopefully that will change later on! It includes the first Bossk and it looks like Boba Fett has been given a revamp with separate helmet (with antenna) and a pauldron! The carbonized Han Solo brick looks a bit large. Is it actually that big in the movie? I probably won't be buying this, though, as there are way too many spectacular 2010 sets coming out. Seems to be a $60-$80 USD set... 8098 Turbo Tank Darn it, why did TLG decide to put Cad Bane in the largest set of the wave? I really wanted to get him. I know they want to make more money and all of that stuff, but hopefully he'll be in a future set that is cheaper. And there's also an Aayla Secura minifig! I don't like how there's yet another Anakin and Ahsoka. I would have liked some high ranking clones, but I don't really mind as this set is way too large for my LEGO budget. Anyways, I like the design of the set very much, with its huge wheels and AT-RT (looks to be well designed just like the 2009 AT-ST!). Can't wait to see what's in the interior! It looks like a $100-$150 USD set. 2010 looks like a fine year for LEGO Star Wars! Not sure if it's better than 2009, we'll just have to wait for the exclusive sets.
  4. Now Chris has pictures of the last two sets, 8059 Seabed Scavenger and 8075 Neptune Carrier!
  5. Thanks for posting this Siegfried! I was very annoyed when people posted pictures, screenshots, and polls from the LKIC website that were for members only. So far, I recall that it has happened three or four times, which is way too many. Also, the things asked or shown are for kids to decide on, not AFOLs, and they are not completely set on doing the things they ask, it's just an idea. Hopefully people will stop posting the things after seeing this topic.
  6. I didn't see that commerical before. Thanks for posting it! It's an awesome stop-motion commercial! The effects like the burning tree, color changing stairs, runny water faucet, and all those other things are very cool. The overall house that they built looks very funny, and I love the thing that the narrator says about the windmill ("True, some elements may be slightly irregular - just look at that windmill thingy"). Thanks for sharing, I really enjoyed watching it. It's now my most favorite LEGO commercial! A deeplink of the commercial:
  7. Thanks for the find Christian! Interesting how we are getting Toy Story 3 set preliminaries right now! When are they going to be released? Did the movie even come out yet? My thoughts: 7596 Trash Compactor Escape This looks interesting! I like how you get Hamm (the piggy bank) and two of those claw grabber aliens! The price point seems to be about $40-$60 USD, not sure if it is a good deal or not. 7597 Western Train Chase Wow, another Western themed set! And another main Toy Story character (Rex, the tyrannosaurus)! It seems to be about $50 USD, if there are not many interior details or Technic structures that increase the piece count. This set looks fantastic, but I'll wait until we get more pics of what it includes before commenting more. 7789 Lotso's Dump Truck Hmm, this set looks...odd. I'll also wait before commenting on this, but it seems to be a $10 USD set. Thanks again Christian!
  8. Thanks so much for the review Mariann! Compared to other $50 sets these days, this is great! You get some very detailed minifigures and Bullseye and some useful new or recolored parts (the first 1 x 2 light bley cheese slopes [!], 2 x 4 tiles in brown and light bley, etc)! I don't like how plain the interiors are though. I would have liked to at least get a bed or toilet in the jail, and a desk in the sheriff's office. But overall it looks like a splendid set and I just might have to buy it if I have any extra spending money leftover or if it goes on sale! You can bend his legs and arms and the head is removable, but the hats are stuck on to the heads (not sure if the hat is a separate piece or a one piece mold with the head). Unfortunately they are preassembled and bagged because the minifigures are made in China, because of all that detailed printing they have to do on the legs, heads, etc. They have a lower quality plastic, judging from Pugsly's review of Woody and Buzz to the Rescue. 1. Yes, they are - they come with longer legs and arms. 2. I think that they can be disassembled, but the hats are stuck onto the head.
  9. That's an extra piece - the actual set only comes with one 1 x 1 round plate. My guess is that the other hole is where you place a gun for storage. I find it odd how you're actually supposed to put the driver of the ice cutter vehicle one stud in front of the seat because of the backpack. Well, what about all those other LEGO Star Wars sets at TRU? The Freeco Speeder and Droid Tri-Fighter sets are supposed to be $25 USD normally when they're about $30 right now, and the larger sets are about $5 more than the MSRP, too.
  10. I would get the RGS first, since the 2010 sets just came out one or two days ago. You'll have one or two years to get the ARC-170 and Tri-Fighter (not droid ). You should probably at least wait until after Christmas because LEGO Stores are going to have a post-Christmas sale and there might be a chance that the RGS may be one of the sets on sale. Good luck!
  11. They're already at TRUs in the US! Chris from Reasonably Clever bought the two battle packs and 8085 Freeco Speeder. You can see the pics here, here, and here (no deeplinking this time, I'm tired from doing the Ben 10, Atlantis, and City sets that he bought ). Also, people have found the other sets.
  12. Chris from Reasonably Clever has posted the the last of his Atlantis sets, so I'll deeplink the pics. 8072 Sea Jet More here! 8073 Manta Warrior More here! 8057 Wreck Raider More here! And he's posted a picture of four of the collectible ring thingies:
  13. No need to complain, it's just TRU's (not the LEGO Store, TRU always gets stuff first) overpricing at work. The normal price will $11 USD, as usual.
  14. Chris from Reasonably Clever has pictures of 8411 ChromeStone: More here. Unfortunately he says that the plastic is of a very bad quality and the overall set is horrible.
  15. Thanks for posting this! The ARC-170 does look pretty big for $60! The helmet printing is just amazing (so much detail!)! He also has reviews of the other 2010 LEGO Star Wars sets! A deeplink of the ARC-170 review:

Chris from Reasonably Clever posted pictures of 3177 Small Car and 7567 Traveler! 3177 Small Car There's more here! 7567 Traveler More here! Small Car is $4.99 USD and Traveler is $3.49 USD at Toys 'R' Uses in the US.
  17. Dang, this took quite a while to do. I had to copy my post and paste it into a saved/unsent PM! Probably 95% of my collection was from 2009 purchases, since this year was when I started buying lots more. In 2008 I only bought 3 or so sets. Let's see: x2 Free things: I also have one large PAB cup, all six of those General Mills promotional LEGO Racers 3 piece sets, and possibly a few other things that I bought this year that I can't remember. And the deals I got: $1 USD for each copy of 5611 Public Works (originally $3.50) $40 USD for 7627 Temple of the Crystal Skull (originally $80) $30 USD for 10186 General Grievous (originally $90) $90 USD for 8038 The Battle of Endor (originally $100) $54 USD for 10199 Winter Toy Shop (originally $60) $12-$13 USD for LEGO Star Wars: The Visual Dictionary (originally $22) $20-$22 USD for The LEGO Book (originally $40) I'm also planning to get an Ambush in Cairo and an Echo Base sooner this year, along with some early 2010 sets if they're out in non-TRU stores. EDIT: Removed 6205 V-wing Fighter. That was a 2006/2007 purchase!
  18. Thanks for the review! The ice cutter does look pretty badly designed, but I like the inclusion of that hidden storage crate. The figs are looking even better now, but the helmet looks a bit thin and tall with the two different places to place the goggles. Also I personally think that TLG should have just called the pilot a "Rebel Pilot" on the box art, since then the people who buy more than one copy will have 10 Zev Senescas (this is a battle pack, so you're supposed to buy more than one copy). However I do like how you get a brown mustache head instead of the grey one. But since this is a battle pack, I'll be getting one when they are released in all stores (I can't stand TRU's overpricing!).

    City 2010

Ooh, the first official LEGO limousine! It looks very interesting with the double doors on the back, and I don't like how it uses black bricks instead of trans-black on the middle and back windows. Also it seems a bit thin because it's four-wide, but still pretty cool! I wish it was in a set by itself without the helicopter, though. By the way, is it just me, or does 3181 Passenger Place have alternating trans-bright green (the new Atlantis cockpit and diver visor color) and trans-light blue windows? Well, it will make the BrickLink prices for the yellow version much cheaper (currently $0.65 USD)...
  20. My parents have already gotten one 10199 Winter Toy Shop from Black Friday wrapped under the tree for me (I went with my mom to get it, but they are paying for it as their gift to me), and four polybag sets (Mini TIE Fighter, Rally Racer, Snowman, and Christmas Tree) in a stocking. I can't wait to open the Winter Toy Shop! It's very unfortunate how you can't get anything, prateek.
  21. Not sure if this has been posted yet, but there's a clearer box art of 7593 Buzz's Star Command Spaceship on Brickset: The back can open in a way similar to 7639 Camper, with a mining vehicle of some sort stored inside!
  22. Wow! Lots of new pictures and posts while I was at school! Actually, I said that it seems real (and it is now because of the box art that whung found). Thanks, but someone else already posted that. Thanks for the find! It seems to be another $25 USD set, and a great deal at that (for the minifigs)! So the Garindan mystery turned out to be a brick built droid... Thanks for the better scan! It looks very interesting with the non-CW Barriss Offee minifigure. However, I actually would have liked a CW version as it would've gone well with Ahsoka (although I don't have one ). Wow! I love the swampy box art for 8091 Republic Swamp Speeder. What planet is it on? R4-P44 (not R4-P17) just has a normal astromech head, as you can see in Clone O' Patra's post which has a huge box art that FBTB admins stiched stitched together. Can't wait to see even more pics!
  23. Wow, lots of interesting finds/pictures surfaced when my internet was down for a couple of hours! Skyward's finds Ooh, great finds! The battle packs look even better now, but I think it's odd how TLG actually decided to give one of the rebels a name for the first time (Zev Senesca). I like how 8085 Freeco Speeder has a hidden storage space with crate where you can store the electrobinoculars and Anakin's lightsaber! Unfortunately it looks like TRU has priced the sets over MSRP though (Skyward's post says that the battle packs were $13 USD instead of $11, Freeco and Tri-Fighter were $30 instead of $25, TIE Defender was $55 instead of $50, and ARC-170 was $65 instead of $60). ARC-170 Looks as great as ever, but I won't be buying it since it still seems a bit expensive (and there's the new LEGO Toy Story theme, so I'll have to conserve my 2010 budget). Thanks for posting the pic here though, Clone O' Patra! Republic Swarm Speeder Hmm, I'm not sure if this is an actual upcoming set or not. It looks pretty real because of the printed/stickered bricks at the front (the old swamp speeder has different sized bricks, too), as well as the printed/stickered engine piece. I'm just going to wait for clearer pictures before commenting further...
  24. Now that you mention it, they do seem to be frying pans! Thanks. I like how we're getting lots of new parts and existing parts in new colors in this theme!
  25. Thanks for the review Pugsly! It doesn't look like much for $20 USD, but if you think about the printed parts ($5 USD extra) and pull-back motor ($5 USD extra), it seems to be worth it. The Big One looks really big, and is a great addition to the set! It's always good to be more accurate to the movie. By the way, are those lime green pieces on the very back of the eyes new parts? They look like they are.
