Heck even the goat went against that theory the first time around. Dumbest LEGO decision I ever made, passing up the goat set when I saw it on slight discount at a discount store but just didn't really care for it at the time and figured the goat would come in another set later...

Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces
Clone OPatra replied to LegoPercyJ's topic in LEGO Licensed
The puffer vests and hair with beanies have pretty good prices. And, true to the name of this topic, there are currently a few Skeleton Crew Minifigure parts, an Iron Man torso, the trans green darksaber and the new rubbery capes on there! However those rubbery capes are pretty expensive, and holy heck the Dreamzzz hourglass hilts are terribly priced. I would've wanted those but I'll pass. And um, why are pneumatic tubes $17.40 USD -
D'oh! I meant the falcon. There hasn't been a raven in CMF I don't think, just that crow part from Lone Ranger.

Ah I forgot about that. But I also forgot about the toucan, koala and raven, which haven't reappeared yet. Maybe the theory has nothing to it, though I still feel like a wolf is more likely to reappear than some of those.

Almost all CMF animals have reappeared in some form besides the cobra and mouse, so there's good precedent there - although some dogs have only reappeared in later CMF and BAM.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 27. Rumors and discussion
Clone OPatra replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
It's a decent though not amazing unlicensed series for me. Sure it's a bit of a bummer that a full third are figures that could fit into City sets (though would have less detail in some cases), but at least the amount of detail and number of accessories - including new ones - is pretty good. Half are definite buys - Wolfpack, Octan Jetpack person, Cupid, Pirate, Cat lover, Steampunk inventor - and I might consider the longboarder and boogeyman as well. I'm also counting at least 14 new moulds (provided the pterodactyl fan's arms are identical to each other), which is above average for a series lately. -
Wizarding World 2024 - Rumors & Discussion
Clone OPatra replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
This question is befitting of your name, but it's hardly true. LEGO is pumping out super detailed, inarguably high effort figures year after year in this theme. Look at the latest Snape, McGonagall and Dumbledore with arm printing for instance, not to mention all the other Minifigures with high levels of care and movie accurate detail put into them. Apart from a couple of face prints (Bellatrix, Ginny), the 2010-11 figures pale in comparison to everything we get these days. -

I don't know, the image is somewhat grainy but it really looks like nothing is there... Time and good pictures will tell though. -

It looks a bit different to me, but with the relatively low resolution of the image, it isn't completely possible to tell for sure. -

Do my eyes deceive me or does Iron Patriot not have any leg print? That's the lowest of new lows if so - an iron man suit with no leg print. -

Annoyingly, I don't think that newer hood has ever been available in any colour on PaB. While it has mostly been used in Licensed sets, it seems odd for that hood in particular to be IP locked when other random parts developed for and exclusively appearing in Licensed sets do appear for sale. -

No, he means this one that doesn't replace the legs. It could look nice as an addition to match the movie effect. -
Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces

While it's not the same thing exactly, I've often suspected that pieces with more limited runs have higher prices. I haven't studied it scientifically so I don't know if it's universally true or just confirmation bias, but for instance the Cheetah hairpiece from the WW84 set and the recent new Bo Katan hairpiece were both disproportionately expensive compared to other hairpieces. I haven't seen it applied to torsos before, but I wouldn't be surprised if they increase the price of torsos that are more limited to help absorb the cost of the run. Also in the realm of pricing, I wonder if certain exorbitant PaB prices drive up Bricklink prices. For instance the new flask pieces have been available on PaB (mostly from German sellers) for around $1 or less USD, but they're over $3 on PaB. If BL sellers put their prices up to $2.50, they'd still be undercutting PaB, so what reason do they have not to? -

The new flask and the clear dome minifig helmet have absurd prices. Everything else seems pretty normal or what I expected, even the tiger. Cool to see the two torsos from the Durmstrang Ship, and the Nazgul, actually there. Hopefully they don't get cancelled from the order I placed. -

Have you tried Luna's hairpiece? It leaves a fair amount of room at the back, but I don't know if it would be enough. https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=37703&idColor=103#T=C&C=103 The long braided ponytail also leaves some room: https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=88286&idColor=120#T=C&C=120 -
Oh wow! I wish the Chicago store had those when I was there. Now I'll be waiting for PaB.

Where have you seen these reports? I've seen no puffer jacket in this round of BAM.

Please bear in mind that while some people like to follow along with leaks and rumours, others very much don't and like to find out what's in the film through promotional material only or even just by watching the film. A simple "maybe we could get a better Venom figure around the time of the next Spiderman film" would suffice. -
[REVIEW] 71428 Yoshis' Egg-cellent Forest
Clone OPatra replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
The review is about my analysis of and thoughts about the set. You didn't know that looking at the box pictures. You personally might know other related things like the egg being exclusive, the number of instances of these colours of Yoshis before and their slight differences, and more, but I worked that analysis into my review too in order to land on my ultimate rating for the set. I also did a quick MOD of the figures, so for a small set there is a whole lot here that isn't self-evident to everyone from the box pictures alone. Did you think I disparaged the digi-figures (which I didn't?), and thus found disappointment here that you didn't in my equally short review of the equally small Jungle ATV set? Fair point about the pictures though, not my best (though they look better on my phone than desktop oddly). If it makes any difference as well, I bought both this set and the Jungle ATV because I wanted them and subsequently decided to review them, and didn't request them from LEGO. -
In a world where we call every somewhat small set a battlepack, this set is undoubtedly the Yoshi battlepack. Let's-a-go check it out! SET INFORMATIONNumber: 71428Name: Yoshis' Egg-cellent ForestTheme: Super MarioReleased: 2024Part Count: 107Minifigures: 2 buildable YoshisSet Price (RRP): 9.99 EUR / 8.99 GBP / 14.99 AUD / 9.99 USD / 13.99 CADLinks: Brickset Bricklink Flickr album I've been into Mario stuff for a very long time, and while I don't care for the look of LEGO's electronic figures or to try out the gameplay, I have collected up a small amount of sets and buildable figures from the line to incorporate into a Mario display. I didn't have any Yoshis yet, so this set caught my eye from the time it was first revealed. Let's check it out. YOSHISLEGO's Yoshi design essentially hasn't changed since the first Yoshi they did in 2020, in 71367. The only difference is that they replaced two 1x1 quarter tiles on the front with a single 1x2 half circle tile. As of just a few months after this set came out, there's now a single tile that incorporates the shape of a 1x2 rectangular tile and the two 1x1 quarter circles, so I wonder if we'll be seeing that used in future. Like most of the figures in this line since its inception, Yoshi has a compressed, somewhat rounded and somewhat squared off design. I find it pretty cute, and I like that they've left studs to play the role of the little mounds Yoshis have over their eyes in-universe. However, it's got to be said that there isn't enough opacity in the white print for the eyes. Do better LEGO. They've got all the main aspects of Yoshis, like the red "spikes"(?) on the back of their heads and back, their cute little tails, their white bellies, and the correct colours of boots for these particular colours of Yoshis. They're just blockified, since it's LEGO. Out of all the characters LEGO has done, I like the koopa and goomba in Big Bad Island the most and I wish we could get a Yoshi at that scale, but LEGO has no reason to do that. These are good and cute, but the slightly larger scale is better for fidelity of detail and for display. Upon building these I had the immediate urge to see how easy it would be to adapt them for minifigure riders. While it doesn't seem possible with only the pieces provided in this set, it's still rather easy (minifigures borrowed from my recently reviewed 60437 Jungle Explorer Helicopter). SCENERYWhile the Yoshis are undoubtedly the main draw, the "egg-cellent forest" part of the set isn't too shabby itself. The two-tone tree looks great and Mario-esque, and the egg is actually exclusive so far to this set. Given its prevalence in some games including the original Super Mario World, that's pretty neat to get. The nest design appears to come from more recent games, like Super Mario Galaxy II. The back of the tree, in case you were wondering, is nothing much to look at. Still, when each Yoshi uses 31 parts, 45 more parts for the setting is enough to make it feel decent for the price, on par if not more substantial than the later character pack series. FINAL THOUGHTS & RATINGS For what it is, for people missing these particular colours of Yoshis or who, like me, don't yet have any Yoshis at all, this is a very decent little set. Even without an electronic figure, I'd imagine kids who like Mario stuff would have fun playing around with a couple of cute Yoshis too. However, one thing I haven't discussed yet, and about which I've seen some discussion online, is the colour choices here. LEGO has done only five out of the canon at least 10 or 11 colours of Yoshis in games, and neither of these colours are exclusive. The pink one already came in two sets before this one, and the yellow in three including a polybag. Wouldn't it have been more fun and special if at least one of these was in a new colour? There are plenty of bright colours left to choose, including light blue, purple and orange. Personally it doesn't bother me because I didn't yet have any Yoshis, but looking at it more broadly, the set would have more value if it offered at least one new colour. 8 FIGURES The figures are good but a new colour would've been better, and they need an extra layer of white print in the eyes. 9 PIECES Though many are small, there are a lot of pieces for a set this size, and the exclusive Yoshi egg is a must-have. 8 BUILD/DESIGN While they're quite chibi-esque and oddly squared off like everything in the line, I still enjoy the design of the Yoshis, and the design of the tree is great too for something small but recognisably Mario. 7 Playability I don't know what playability is offered with the barcode, but there's inherent playabiliy from getting two cute characters (even if they are the exact same). 10 Price USD $10 feels perfect for this, and AUD $15 feels fine too (especially because it's on sale all the time). 8.4 OVERALL LEGO doesn't do enough sets in this price range anymore, and especially not with this much building involved. For a kid or adult who like Mario, provided they like the LEGO Mario aesthetic, this set provides inherent fun and value with two cute Yoshis. A new colour of Yoshi would've pushed it up closer to a 9 or 9.5 out of 10, and actually good eye printing could've netted a perfect score.

Yeah, if those other sets didn't exist I might give this a 10/10 too, but compared to those this is lacking something.

Found the new batch a Chicago area LEGO store. They weren't strict about one of each part type for figure, so I got just a bunch of torsos and legs, and only a couple of heads and headgears, totalling 15 pieces. Now I've got two full dark blue classic space torso and leg combos, awaiting whenever LEGO makes the airtanks and helmets in that colour (hopefully).
