LEGO Star Wars 2024 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
Clone OPatra replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
This take feels slightly abstracted to absurdity. The Obi-Wan location in-universe is a grey nothing, and as a LEGO set is still a flat grey nothing. The Peridia set in-universe has some design to it and in-LEGO is worthy of display. That doesn't mean it's a great set or value, but at least there's something to it... not to mention 4-5 decent figures of cool characters, unlike the Obi-Wan set. -

All that talk and speculation over Enoch for nothing. On the one hand, at least it's not a corner-cut figure. On the other hand, not Enoch. A good scene for what it is. The price always feels high for these larger duel sets. -
Well I got some CMF at last (from Kmart but price-matched to Target's $4 AUD). Someone had already been through and taken all the robot nurses... and my Orion came with a spare head in place of his club! I think that's my first ever CMF packing error. Not too salty about it though, because the head is kind of cooler and more useful to me personally than the club.

I've always liked the characterisation either in the RotS novelization or the book set immediately after where Palps is pretty disappointed Vader is now less powerful than he could've been, but at the same time glad because he'd be easier to beat if he tried anything. Makes perfect sense to me that Palps would have other force-using semi padawans around in case Vader did try to make a move, or if he felt like ditching Vader generally because Vader wasn't living up to his potential anymore. I never felt like Luke was portrayed as leaning asexual in the OT. And I've always liked that Luke's New Jedi Order allows for being all around good guys and still having close attachments/relationships. We saw where the no attachments thing got the old Jedi Order.... Personally I'd love if LEGO did a Legends set once in a while. It wouldn't be any weirder or less tied to anything than when they do sets based on their own animated specials. And yeah that droid set.... what were they thinking on a lot of fronts. -
Unfortunately going off the photo shared in the BAM thread, it's the same tan one as appeared in sets.

I love the super clean presentation of this, and the design which is both sleek and a bit grungy at once. Fun to see that Alpha Team cockpit - haven't thought about that one in a while! The whacky Vidiyo hairpiece really works on the minifigure for this aesthetic too.

I really doubt the random retail employees, or even head management, know enough about the scannable bar codes to hide them. Only LEGO store employees and managers know that sort of thing. It's so odd too because they didn't do it for S25 or Marvel S2, and their system can scan the bar codes that the boxes come with to bring up the price, like they have before and most stores do. Totally unnecessary. And yeah, both S25 and Marvel warmed shelves for quite a while in the larger department stores, and I imagine this box of S26 will given it isn't scannable. Being able to determine what's inside helps these things actually sell.

Wizarding World 2024 - Rumors & Discussion
Clone OPatra replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
Let's stick to LEGO as most people have been doing. When you recognise it's off topic, it doesn't belong. Thanks. -
Australia rant: I finally found S26 in an actual store besides the LEGO Certified Store (because Kmart's in stock system is always wrong of course)... and Myer had put super adhesive price labels halfway covering every QR code on every individual packet in the box, sufficient to keep them from scanning even on the couple I tried to peel up. They didn't do that for S25, which was never scannable in Aus! Can we just catch a break?

Is there a reason I wouldn't title it that? Am I stupid? In seriousness though, I don't know how Man would feel about being demoted to the parentheses. He might come after me. (In actual seriousness, here's hoping there are real DC sets in 2025, in which case I'll keep the 2025 topic on topic and I can retitle this topic to Lego Aslume ongoing discussion for all the continuing garbage.)

Also McGonagall and Dumbledore's dual moulded hat-hair combo pieces - both done in purely pearl gold for the anniversary figures.
