LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 27. Rumors and discussion
Clone OPatra replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Yeah frustratingly Series 25 only had the unscannable codes in Australia. I took a scale to the store.... But you should really give it a go now. The apps are great and easy. omgbricks has been my go to. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 27. Rumors and discussion
Clone OPatra replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Yes Marvel S2 was completely blind and the first unlicensed series in boxes was a mix (or blind depending on region), but since the latest two series (Space and DoD) have you actually had any problem with the apps? It's quicker and easier than feeling the packets ever was, and I was quite good at feeling the packets... -
Wizarding World 2024 - Rumors & Discussion

That's fair and I hear your frustration. That said, taking a step back, it's potentially more an indictment on earlier waves than it is on the last one and continuance of the theme. In 2024-2025 alone, on the Hogwarts side of things, we've gotten all of the major professors/adults (Dumbledore, Snape, McGonagall, Flitwick, Hagrid, Hooch, Filch, Quirrel, Lockhart), and lots of students. We've gotten other important creatures like the troll, Fang and Norbert. We should have the Dursleys again next year too. The main thing they seem to not be doing so far is the final tasks at the end of Year 1. I hear your point that no section of the castle feels "complete", and if I was just getting into HP LEGO now, I don't think I'd be able to afford it since this newest system is just too expensive for me. However, taking the Hagrid's Hut sets as an example, it's more the fault of the old one for not including Fang (who is in PoA) than the new one which includes everything for the scene it's based on in PS. So really, as a Harry Potter LEGO purchaser since the very beginning, yeah it's frustrating that the awesome troll is in a $200 set that I don't want generally, or Fang is in a new Hagrid's Hut if you already have/like the old one, but in most cases that's not really the fault of the new sets. Besides the weird exclusion of the shrunken head, they are doing a good job of covering quite a breadth of stuff in this newest iteration, in my opinion. -
[Alt-Build Contest] 60346 Barn & Farm Animals - Red Island Refuge

Thanks! I'm not much of a builder but I was pleased with how the front came out, though the rest looks a bit blocky and mismatched. -

I think 40712 scrapes in at the top end of the small category, yeah. -

Hadn't thought about GWPs. While they're live they often have an RRP ascribed on LEGO.com, but I don't know if anyone records that information since they're never actually sold. Which GWP were you thinking? -
[ENTRY TOPIC] Eurobricks Alt-Build Contest 2025
Clone OPatra replied to Clone OPatra's topic in Special LEGO Themes
60346 Barn & Farm Animals (Medium category, perplexingly) An outpost on an inhospitable planet. Since I'm running the contest (though probably won't be judging), I may or may not keep this in competition. -
In honour of the alt-build contest we have going at the moment, I've done an alt-build of 60346 Barn & Farm Animals, which is about on my MOC-building level. I'm calling it Red Island Refuge since it's like a lonely little outpost on a distant red planet, but cozy inside. As you can see it's got a datapad for entry and sideways entry doors. There's a ladder on the side to get up to the air treatment equipment on the roof. There's a nice big window on the back so the inhabitants can get some natural light and see their surroundings. While the ground of the planet is too inhospitable to life, they've managed to engineer soil and water on the side of the building. Inside there are (almost) all the amenities one needs: a bed, sink, toilet, places to keep tools and a crate for the food they grow. No spacesuits for exploring the planet unfortunately, but I was limited by what's included in the set. Full Flickr set here. Let me know what you think!

Wizarding World 2024 - Rumors & Discussion
Clone OPatra replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
It doesn't work like that at LEGO with a timeline so short. They'd have already planned this out, and only if sales were absolutely disastrous would they change course (like cancelling Vidiyo, or second waves of some things back in the day). The pricing of these sets is too damn high for me, but when they keep resetting Hogwarts every fourth year, they're bound to do different things. Right now we're in the mega expensive era of Hogwarts for wealthy people. 2018-2020 was the relatively reasonable revamped Hogwarts, 2021-2023 was the callback anniversary retro Hogwarts, and now we're into the mega expensive dollhouse Hogwarts. That said, at least the side buildings go with other things and look good by themselves this time, unlike in 2021-2023. We'll see what 2026 brings. -
DC Superheroes 2025 - Rumors & Discussion
Clone OPatra replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
What do you suggest? Some memes and joking around is ok as long as they're somewhat on track. The seperate Aslume is still open. Ultimately one of my key reasons for moderating is so that it feels like a welcoming enough place for people who want to discuss DC LEGO to come in and discuss DC LEGO without finding a hodgepodge of random in-jokes and completely unassociated discussion. I don't want it be unfun, and yeah it sucks that there isn't that much actual DC LEGO to discuss for 2025, but that's just how it is. Also I take the no Superman 2025 retail sets to mean... Corenswet SDCC figure confirmed. -
[CONTEST] Eurobricks Alt-Build Contest 2025
Clone OPatra replied to Clone OPatra's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I'd say it's lightly encouraged to make something as different as possible, but overall aesthetics and good usage of parts are just as important, so you don't need to focus on originality for originality's sake. Which is to say, if you think you can best make a starship into a Star Wars building rather than something not Star Wars, you could still have a good shot. For this particular contest every entry can only be built from one set, sorry! -
DC Superheroes 2025 - Rumors & Discussion

Just absurd and mind-boggling. I don't even care about the film personally but I can't understand how LEGO and WB wouldn't mutually agree to support DC's supposed cinematic relaunch with a strong assortment of toys to build excitement. And it's just sad what's become of LEGO's DC offering over the years. -
[Alt-Build Contest] - 31109 Pirate ship

It mightn't be a different theme, but it's a good looking sloop! I especially like the texture on the hull. -
[CONTEST] Eurobricks Alt-Build Contest 2025
Clone OPatra replied to Clone OPatra's topic in Special LEGO Themes
We're just going for that the alt-build is a significantly different thing, so to make an architecture set into a vehicle, you'll have that covered. If you took a police station set and made it into just a different police station, that'd get lower marks in the originality category, but if it was a police spaceship, that's different. Especially in the smallest category, but really in all of them, there is almost inevitably going to be something tying the alt-build back to the original set. That's just the nature of alt-builds. The judges will score originality within reason. -

Nope, sorry. It may seem arbitrary but I had to cut it off somewhere. We may run another one in the future where alt-builds of larger sets are allowed. -

Me neither. Feels like trolling. But anyway, it's time for the Aslume to reopen. Let's see if people follow the one imposed rule. -

You were one of the main contributors to its closing.... Anyway, shame that figure was fake. It's genuinely astonishing that there might be zero tie in sets for DC's supposed big relaunch. -

Come on @CloneCommando99. Don't do things like that. Of you guys make me constantly come in and moderate this topic, it'll just end up locked for long stretches of time. The Aslume thread will reopen too, but with the caveat to stop discussing world history/politics. Was that leaked Corenswet Supes figure confirmed to be fake then? -

Sure I guess in a small set that could make the difference. -
This thread is for discussing LEGO DC Superheroes sets in 2025, and DC properties as they directly relate to LEGO. If you're looking for the old off the rails discussion from 2024, find it here. Rules will be enforced in this topic.

Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces

Oh, that is weird. Sorry, that's not how I read your comment before. The bestseller half of my 9th October order shipped within a week, but the standard is still stuck in limbo. -

Why is that odd? Bestseller ships very quickly. That's the point of Bestseller.
