Most LEGO faces don't really evoke their characters out of context - I'd say the vast majority, in fact. They've gone through numerous designs and iterations for Han Solo for instance, but I wouldn't say any of the Han heads on its own obviously evokes Harrison Ford. The problem is that Ford has a generic handsome look, so distilled into a LEGO figure, it doesn't look like anyone in particular. Only those people with very distinct features, either genetically or because of adornments like facial hair and accessories, translate recognisably into LEGO. David Schwimmer has very distinct features, as did Sean Connery by Last Crusade with facial hair, glasses and his deeply furrowed brow. Dwight will be easy because of the glasses. Michael has pretty thick/low eyebrows, and I bet they'll go with some distinct facial expression for the reverse. Jim and Pam will be tough because of their generic looks, which is kind of the point of them.

Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces

Oh that's interesting! I haven't actually opened my packets yet. Do they come with two Ms then? Regardless a pretty decent price for nice printed tiles. I like the font much better than the one on older square tiles I have from some LEGO notebook. -
@ks6349 You do indeed seem to take every opportunity to badmouth Bricklink (and sometimes LEGO Stores and LEGO employees). That you have some problem or perhaps bad experience with Bricklink is your business, but has nothing to do with this thread. Bricklink is beloved and widely used the world over, though especially in Europe, the North America and Australasia. The OP has brought up an interesting point for discussion, and received mostly interesting answers. If you have nothing to contribute on the actual subject, don't contribute.

Harry Potter 2021 - Rumors & Discussion
Clone OPatra replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
The choice to include the card wall is pretty perplexing to me if I'm honest. While it's novel and fun to have a place to display the cards, it's a bit meta to have a it within a playset, and in designing the set this way they've made the exterior look absolutely terrible out of the box, while the interior isn't much better if one chooses to remove the card section. A cute, properly finished and executed Gryffindor dorm section would've been a great GWP without the card display gimmick. -
LEGO Star Wars 2022 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!

That's a bit unfair. LEGO definitely has a design language that they try pretty hard to conform to, and mostly succeed, but also slip up sometimes. An example that always comes to my mind is the Lone Ranger pistol. That looked like a mini replica pistol, and while it had a bar attachment to minifigures could hold it, that was it. It looked more like something Mega would make, since they're in the business of making proportioned mini action figures with accessories to suit. I can't say I feel they've slipped out of their design language with Star Wars creatures, though. They make the creatures with angular features or squared off sides, fitting in pretty well with the overall LEGO aesthetic. While they have gotten better at brick built creatures, I also tend to prefer moulded ones. The price of Boba's Palace compared to its rumoured piece count would make perfect sense for it to have a moulded Rancor rather than a built one. -

I bet it'll be a 4+ wave given recent trends, and those have gotten more than two sets in the past. Thinking Toy Story 4 and Incredibles 2. It's generally only the MCU that sometimes gets just one or two sets for certain films. There are also rumoured to be three Encanto sets, which is expected enough, but two are some sort of books. -
The black hair with silver headphones was the first colour for that part, back in Series 8! Haven't been to a Sydney store since our lockdown ended to see why they're doing with BAM. It would perhaps be sad to see it go, but the price here was always astronomical. You could get 4 CMF figures at one of the other retail stores for the same price as the 3 BAM at the LEGO store, and CMF usually pack in far more value in terms of prints, parts and moulds.

True, they would be different goats, but some sort of goat is better than none!

There's a possibility they might do a new goat for the Thor 4 set(s), because Thor's goats from the comics are thought to appear based on set pictures.

There's now a picture around of what looks like test moulds of a new dog and a squirrel. The dog looks like Friends style given how rounded it is, but the squirrel looks in line with minifigure-theme animals. The person who posted them claims they are very much real. If so, bring it on!

Disney Properties 2021 - Rumors & Discussion
Clone OPatra replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Who or where has said so? I haven't seen any information besides that they're reviewing it further. -
I don't understand the amount of comments I've seen, a little here but mostly on other sites, wondering/wishing this was the UK Office and not the US one. I get that a lot of LEGO fans online seem to prefer the UK Office, but one show lasted two seasons and 14 total episodes, and the other ran 9 seasons with 201 episodes. Obviously this was only ever going to be the US Office.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 22. Rumors and discussion
Clone OPatra replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Ah yes, sorry! Simply a mistake. I'll amend my list. That makes the series less comparable, but all in all like others have said, this seems to be the best one in a while for fans of everything other than modern day. -

Looking at the list, my first impression was that the distribution of types of characters seemed quite similar to Series 21, so I did a full breakdown of categories. Don't know if it amounts to anything, but it was interesting to me. 2 sci fi (robot and alien) (space police and alien) 2 costumes (chilli and racoon) vs 2 or 3 (pug and ladybug - could count plane girl) 3 fantastical (moon warrior, snow warrior, forest spirit) vs 1 (centaur) 1 historical (Bard with lute) vs 2 (flapper singer and Jaguar warrior) 4 modern day (Paralympic, figure skater, girl with foal, researcher) vs 4 or 5 (beekeeper, castaway, surfer, violin boy, plane outfit girl if not counted in costumes) -

Personally, also owning the Maxifig set, I've felt it should've been just Harry, and then if it sold well, they could've released Hermione and Ron either individually or as a two-pack. The price is steep for a new concept, and Harry and Hermione do not make a natural pairing. A single-figure $60 set would've been much more palatable, and Harry works just fine on his own. If a single-figure set didn't sell well then they'd definitely know that there wasn't enough interest on the concept, whereas with the set we got the same can't necessarily be said because some customers could've though "well, I like them, but I'm not going to spend a whole $120 on that". -
LEGO Sci-Fi Ongoing - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
Clone OPatra replied to Lyichir's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Star Wars already has gotten new content every year since 1999 and LEGO has released multiple Sci-Fi themes alongside it. That doesn't mean they will again, but it's not a full argument that they won't make Sci-Fi because there's Star Wars. However, like we've seen with Castle, I think the best bet at the moment for Sci-Fi sets will be in Creator, and those can be discussed here when/if there's interest. -
Everything in this thread about the origins of that weird pack has been conjecture - it could be as simple as someone having a laugh on Instagram. I don't know why you'd jump to any conclusion that anyone got it from a LEGO store even if the Instagram user says so. And yet, that's led into doom and gloom about LEGO employees all being idiots and LEGO having such terribly pleasant return policies that they're encouraging thieves? Keep it reasonable and sane, thanks.

The "The Batman" Batmobile? That'd be 6287674: WINDSCREEN 6X6X1 2/3, NO. 1 in official naming, and Bricklink calls it the same (minus "NO. 1"). -
LEGO Sci-Fi Ongoing - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion

As there's an unfortunately an ongoing dearth of new LEGO Sci-Fi sets, I've renamed this topic "Ongoing" and it can carry on from year to year unless there's a specific new theme to discuss separately. -

Wow, I'm surprised at the amount of positivity in this thread about these sets. I'm glad people like them though. It's partially down to the in-film designs, but these look so darn drab. They're like comparing the cartoon TMNT sets to those film ones - the difference was night and day. The two smaller sets have excellent piece count and value, but those bikes look horrible and while the car is fine, it just looks like a big oversized car to me. The Batcave is the only standout, but has quite a low piece count for its price and looks so grim and drab as a set. It has some nice design features and the best overall group of figures, but doesn't look its price. The minifigures overall look ok though the villains look nothing like any other appearance of them, but Batman sorely needs a new cowl. I honestly can't believe they're using this one for a wave tying into a major new from. All in all, these sets feel like they're lacking something, some special oomph that LEGO usually adds for waves based on new films. -

The colouring of the photo looks weird. Where'd this photo come from? -
That would make sense. GitD pieces are much more expensive across the board. I'm surprised they didn't decide to use GitD for the inner colour this time, where they've used white instead.
