  1. The first episode of Boba reeked of much of the same problems as both seasons of The Mandalorian - totally lazy, uninventive writing. Sounds like episode two is more of the same, but after the first let me down I really don't care to continue with this show. Tatooine having a power vacuum after Jabba's death, maybe shoddily held together by Bib Fortuna, and now supplanted by Boba, is a cool concept. Let's actually see that. What's Tatooine like without Jabba. What was Jabba's actual influence on Tatooine? What was it like during Bib's years and how will that carry over into how it is now? We haven't seen any of that on screen (if it's been done in new canon books and comics, I wouldn't know), and it would be fun stuff to explore. That could lend itself to seven episodes easily. Plus, how does Boba or how did Bib play into the Hutts at large? Jabba was part of a bigger Hutt syndicate (although I seem to recall in old canon, he was a bit rogue). Instead, we get boring as sh*t Boba and Tusken stuff with the most basic level writing imaginable behind it. The few scenes in the present also had the most lazy writing and cringey performances. It was the exact same with Mandalorian. That show could have done literally anything, but almost every episode (especially season 2) felt like it'd been banged out in a boardroom in a couple of afternoons. Even if Bad Batch was not great, it explored new worlds, showed us actual development in the galaxy, and had fantastic visuals that didn't feel as if they'd been obviously tailored to a budget. There's actual care put into the animated shows. I shiver to think what Kenobi will be like.
  2. I'm looking forward to the animals, but really looking forward to some of the new hair and hat-hair pieces. The Friends beanie+hair and fedora+hair are really nice, and I'm keen to see them on Minifigures!
  3. Ooohh, am I going to pay AUD $60 during a 25% off sale just to get Madame Pomfrey? Maybe so, maybe so....
  4. The Graveyard was a great minifigure pack with a pretty average to uninteresting build attached, but cheap enough that that didn't matter. If it's a good price on BL, I'd recommend it, or just see if buying the Minifigures is more cost effective. The Beauxbatons Carriage is lovely and I'm glad I have it since it adds some colour in the display, and I like all the Minifigure parts included as well. But that said, it's not a must have unless you really care about Beauxbatons and completing the Yule Ball Minifigure collection such as it is. It's hardly the most important HP material there is. Don't have the Horntail set because the build looked bad to me and I don't care about the Triwizard Tournament, so can't comment much on that.
  5. I think it will be a mix, like always. For instance Monica Rambeau's hairpiece now appears in a Jan 22 set, but was that the real reason it was available on B&P or not? I'd be surprised if Carter's hairpiece turns up in sets any time soon, or the old man Luke hair in black from Loki. Some CMF parts that appear on B&P have remained exclusive to CMF in the past. I feel like it's just one of those B&P mysteries that might not even have a good answer, the same as why some seemingly normal standard parts never make it on, like the Doc Brown hairpiece for instance (although I thought that used to be on B&P, but isn't any more in any colour).
  6. Ok, here goes! I've put each list in spoiler tags to save people the trouble who don't want to scroll past it all. Not everything is brand new, a few are things I personally haven't ordered yet, but I tried to note that. Descriptions are my own. Hairpieces Hats Minifigure Heads Minifigure Bodies Minifigure Legs Accessories Animals Misc Parts Again, this is not absolutely everything new and cool, but everything I personally am interested or would pay for (the dark orange horse for example is nice, but way too expensive for a horse).
  7. I can see the available (or, will be available) CMF parts too. No heads, torso, or legs with prints, nor any of the new moulds, but some of the good recolours are on there. I've made a big long list of all the 2022 stuff that I'll be seeking to buy, broken into their various categories, if anyone is interested in me sharing it.
  8. A question has been raised regarding what we're doing with film leaks in this topic. We don't allow them in Marvel (or DC, not that anyone has brought them up yet), so we shouldn't here either. However, from what I've seen in this thread, for the most part people have only been discussing leaks pertaining to what dinosaurs appear or don't appear in the film. I don't think that's all too spoiler-y, and it does form the basis for speculating about the sets. Therefore, from here on out, continuing to discuss the dinosaurs out of context is fine, but anything that veers into actual leaked plot details of the film is not fine. When it comes to plot details, settings, etc. if it has been revealed in official promotional material and/or cast and crew interviews, it's fine to discuss. Anything else is not. Just like in the other threads. Thanks.

  10. Dang, I spent a fair amount on Bricklink for one of those recently. Hopefully this brings the price down for the future.
  11. Yep, same as putting PotC in Pirates. History is starved of new official LEGO content, unfortunately, and there are enough Licensed themes in the Licensed section as it is. Locking now.
  12. Of course there is enough material to fill numerous Harry Potter CMF series, but I'd argue that we already didn't need some of what we've gotten in both sets and CMF. We didn't need the trio in those random HBP outfits, we didn't need Slug Club, we didn't need another Neville in Series 2, we didn't need the twins in nearly identical but not quite the same winter outfits (they could've done one twin in robes to make robes available in the series while scrapping Neville and one in the winter outfit, for example), we didn't need Luna in her Gryffindor lion headgear, we didn't need Sinistra or both Mr and Mrs Flume in sets this year. That's not to say I dislike any of those figures, because in fact I love many of them, but I'm just saying we've gotten minor outfits/characters and repeats we didn't need, and are still missing a few figures we do, so another CMF wouldn't guarantee anything anyway.
  13. Just a reminder that if a piece of information about a film/show/property hasn't been released in official promotional material or other official sources such as an interview with a cast or crew member, DO NOT DISCUSS IT HERE. I get that the Marvel fandom for some people involves knowing every plot detail and cameo in advance, but as many other people do NOT want to know. Thanks.
  14. Ok whoa. No name calling. No personal attacks. And also no vitriol against another franchise. That's not what we're here for. Anyone who does any of that again gets a time out to cool off.
  15. My rule of thumb for CMF is get them ASAP. If you see them, buy them. If you don't find them and you want to get them another way, do that quickly because prices will only rise. I missed out on CMF Series 20 because I was afraid to go out to stores at that time, and there's now simply no way I'm ever getting the Viking, for example. CMF are going, going, gone.
  16. And we're back up and running for 2022!
  17. Hi all, apologies for briefly pausing this discussion, but I am migrating the latest posts since the release of the new rumoured list over to a new 2022 topic. Please hold. EDIT: Done! Please carry on the discussion in the 2022 topic:

  21. I currently see the Tom Riddle book for $25 AUD. RRP is $40. Perhaps when stores are running typical 20% off promotions, it could come down further to $20. That's still 4 times the price of a CMF here. Whatever. Hope he comes in a set. Maybe he will, maybe he won't.

  23. Did it on the pre-release artwork, but not the final book? I'm looking on Amazon and it does not say exclusive. That's nice, but still bad for the consumer. Clearly these books sell and are profitable with non-exclusive Minifigures, or LEGO/DK wouldn't make so many of them. It's also LEGO's choice to do an exclusive character rather than an exclusive variant, which they easily could've done instead.
  24. That's a bit of a reach. You don't know everyone's financial situation. Even if it's $10, that's an expensive figure all by itself. CMF are $5 USD at full retail (or $5 in AUD too, a better LEGO exchange rate than normal.) One of the exclusive figures from the Moments sets goes for much less than $10 on Bricklink. When an exclusive figure is in a more expensive set, at least you get the set with it. More LEGO is always good. When it's in a book and you don't care at all for the book, you're paying $10 or $20 just a figure. It sucks.
  25. It literally says "exclusive minifigure" right on the book. There's no way they're releasing this same figure in sets in 2022. It's pretty annoying IMO. They could've done a prefect version of a character we already have, like Ron or Hermione (I know that's excluded from the films). A fully exclusive character we haven't gotten yet is a pain, but hopefully they release another version of him in sets at a later date, like what they did with Tom Riddle.
