Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces
Clone OPatra replied to LegoPercyJ's topic in LEGO Licensed
For MOCs and general building, this service will still be quite good. I'm someone that only ever used it for new cool pieces, usually minifigure and accessory pieces, and that's what's now missing with no real answer on if it will return. -

Great catch! I was surprised Mary would have a new head when she is so minor, but then again I'm also surprised that that Yaz figure has so many exclusive parts - head, torso and legs. Like why? Is she some important character? It also makes me more annoyed when major characters like Mighty Thor get so very common reused heads, when there are random ones that are more rare. -

I feel totally deflated about the new B&P at this point. Old B&P was a major point if excitement in the LEGO hobby for a while, but now with the amount of mucking about with it that they're doing, I can't bring myself to want to check it anymore. No clarity on when new pieces will be added / if they ever will, constant availability changes. It's no surprise, but it's really LEGO's loss. -
LEGO Star Wars 2022 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!

Well I think a Darth Revan - type character is perfect for a special promo because it is so cool and desirable in its own right, but also not integral or long desired by anyone. To be honest this Beru figure isn't even very good with the reused face, so I won't go on about it. I'd love to see an actual Lars Homestead playset after all these years, but I don't feel like it will happen. -
LEGO Star Wars 2022 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!

I'm surprised people are cool with this. A very in-demand character and the first minifigure-compatible rendition of the Lars homestead, and it's locked into a GWP (I don't even want to know what the threshold will be here in Aus, something crazy I'm sure). What a slap. The Lars homestead would totally work as a set, as would an Otoh Gunga set, which LEGO doesn't even need to do to make Boss Nass since there are still a bunch of unmade Naboo Speeders. But I guess TLG knows best about what won't sell and about what gaps they never want to fill after 23 years. -
Stuff that LEGO licensed out to have multi-media Tie-Ins produced (like Galidor and Mixels) would be out. But there are still some obscure licenses if that's your thing! Our rules stipulate that you don't have to use the parts LEGO produced for the licensed, so you could make a Dora the Explorer or Bob the Builder minifigure-scale MOC I guess...... Or if you wanted to make something all about the Paul Frank mascot or Nesquik bunny.....

It's a fantastic price in Australia if the price stays the same post-beta and more desirable parts are added. Our Certified Stores here sell the BAM for a ridiculous $19.99, and LEGO is selling them for just $9.99! Of course there are the shipping charges to contend with, but on face value still much better. -
Wizarding World 2022 - Rumors & Discussion

It's excusable why the lines for the first couple of films weren't accurate, given that they were developed before the films were out and it was only LEGO's second ever full fledged Licensed theme. Those lines had more in common with other pre-film Harry Potter artwork and merchandise than they did with the films themselves. What's weirder is some of the decisions around the 2010/11 line. I think what they were trying to achieve was a line of sets that universally captured the Harry Potter series without being scene or movie specific for the most part. Harry himself for instance had a very kiddy smiley face, but a slightly older-looking frowning one. The Hogwarts sets had a mish-mash of references to multiple different films. Diagon Alley itself was a mish-mash with mainly references to the first two films but also the Weasley Twins in their suits. All in all it was the best Harry Potter stuff to date, but when the 2018 wave came along with its focused, specific sets with a high level of attention to film detail, I knew we were in for something quite different and special. -

The renders and official artwork for this line have been atrocious since 2020. It's really a shame because they do the sets such a disservice and I don't understand why this line has these awful renders compared to most other themes. -
We've got a new contest in Licensed Themes launching this Thursday April 14th! There will be fantastic prizes - up to 120 EUR for the winner and 60 EUR for the runner up. Look out for a full launch announcement on the Frontpage and the Licensed Themes forum this Thursday.

A version of him is in the trunk, but it weirdly uses Dudley's head, so not great. Lucius came in DA though his head was a boring reuse. -

I agree it's only a matter of time until we see more straight remakes. It isn't about doing the sets better, but having the most iconic stuff on the shelves mixed with other things. It's actually a testament to the Harry Potter team how little has been totally remade 1:1 after five years and even after a "soft reboot" of Hogwarts. They're finding ways to keep nearly all of the most iconic characters on shelves while still continuously delivering new stuff, catering to people who have buying HP since 2018 (or earlier if course) and those who might just be starting now. You could pick up ONLY sets released in 2022 and for memorable Hogwarts staff you'd have Dumbledore, Snape, McGonagall, Trelawney, Filch, Pomfret, Lupin, Mad-Eye and Umbridge; you'd have various versions of Harry, Ron, Hermione, Neville, Luna and Malfoy; you'd have all the key Order of the Phoenix members including Sirius, the Weasley parents, Lupin, Tonks, Mad-Eye and Kingsley; there are only a few key characters like Hagrid, Ginny, Voldy and the film-specific DADA teachers that AREN'T includes this year alone. And yet not very much of that feels tired and retreaded for people that have been following along since the beginning. -

Oh ok thanks. Umbridge's smiling face looked very similar to older ones to me. I counted Lupin but not Wormtail, and I counted Sirius in the Sirius Rescue. He has the same head in all three sets this wave, doesn't he? -

I did a tally of all the new minfigure pieces across these sets. I wonder how it compares to previous years, but it feels quite good: Grimmauld: 7 torso, 4 legs, 2 heads (unless also Weasleys?), 1 head mould, 2 recoloured hair, 1 hat without printing Ministry: 8 torso, 1 legs, 6 heads, 1 recoloured hair Shack: 4 torso, 1 legs, 2 heads + recolour of werewolf, unprinted dark tan faun legs Dumbledore: 3 torsos, 2 legs plus + dress, 2 heads, 1 new hat hair Sirius Rescue: 1 torso, 1 legs, 3 heads (counting Sirius here) Horntail: 1 torso Carriage: 2 torsos Total: 26 torsos 9 legs + 1 dress 15 heads and a new head mould, a new hat hair, a recoloured head mould, dark tan faun legs unprinted, 3 recoloured hair pieces and Kingsley's hat unprinted -

I just logged on and this was pretty much my reaction too! The Ministry and Grimmauld Place are singing to me. Absolutely amazing stuff, and must-buys on day one (of there being 25% sales so they come down to the equivalent of US RRP). I can probably do without the rest though there are certainly elements I like. The Shrieking Shack is a good set that I don't feel like I need personally since I have versions of all the minifigures and the location doesn't mean anything to me. The two Hogwarts sets have managed to look pretty good from the exterior, much better than all the previous 2021+ style ones. The interiors of both are quite weak though, with Dumbledore's office itself still being unimpressive. Random thoughts: While I like the idea of the new broomsticks, LEGO hasn't fixed the core problem and made them actually ride-able. They need a piece with a thin bit that goes between a Minifigure's legs, and a pole out in front and broom part behind. Harry and Hermione have new double-sided heads in the Sirius rescue set only as far as I can tell (barring their expressions in the Ministry set). It's like LEGO knew they needed to lock something extra into that set. We really need a new long-hair cat mould. It's nice getting the existing cat in more variants, but it looks like neither Mrs Norris nor Crookshanks. Against all odds they managed to repackage that same exact wing-flapping function yet again, though the Horntail is impressive. Love Pince. Who cares if she's minor. There being a cool character included in the right place doesn't mean they won't also include another cool character in another place. If anything, their willingness to create cool new minifigure pieces for sets lends more hope to seeing a proper Rita Skeeter at some point even without another Minifigure series. -
Totally forgot this one, which I also own! To be honest it is a fantastic set but I recall it being a massive pain to build with no numbered bags if my memory serves me right, despite LEGO having devised plenty of sets with compartmentalized builds by then.

After a ten year hiatus (can that be right?!), we are BACK with a new contest in the Eurobricks Licensed Forum! Licensed Dynamic Action Contest April 14 - May 15 2022 Build a 12x12 vignette scene with some great action! We're talking high kicks, smoke plumes, crackling magic spells - you name it as long as your scene conveys a great sense of action. Thanks to LEGO, one first place winner will get a 120EUR set of their choice, and one runner up will get a 60EUR set of their choice. Contest Entry Rules One entry per Eurobricks member You can join Eurobricks to enter the contest (but we'd like you to stick around!) The contest will run from April 14th 2022 to May 15th 2022. Your MOC must fit within a 12x12 frame but does not have to be on an actual base. No height limit. Your MOC must relate to any Licensed property LEGO has done past or present, excluding Star Wars (which has its own cool contest to enter soon) and convey a sense of action and movement. You don't have to use LEGO's parts/Minifigures from your chosen License, but the property should be clear. (I.e. you can make your own Indiana Jones Minifigure from other LEGO parts, but it should be identifiable as Indy) All entries must be new creations, not posted anywhere else prior to being entered in the contest. You may be asked by a staff member to change your entry if it is too similar to an earlier creation. All entries must be built from real LEGO. No clone brands, no third-party custom parts. Physical builds only for this contest. Your photo can be an Instagram post that you post to the entry topic. (You must tag us @eurobricks_official) Choosing Winners After entries close, a voting topic of all eligible entries will be opened for five days.
