  1. There are so many in the image though. That image is smeared and broken to death. It could be real, but if it is something is very glitchy about it.
  2. I actually quite like the Tomb set. My memory of the film is a vast space, which this captures with the big wall and statues better than the more cramped old set did. The standalone structures imply a larger size than is actually presented. That said, I could be wrong and remembering the upper place where Indy is before he falls into the tomb? It's been a very long time since I saw the movie. In any case, I still think the set has an interesting design, though I doubt I'll pick it up myself. Having been fully immersed in LEGO at the time of the old sets and not a huge fan of Indy, none of these look essential to me, though I do think they're good for what they are. The old line had fantastic small sets, which is something that is obviously not going to be replicated because LEGO just doesn't do much of that anymore. The old Dr Jones Sr figure is still one of the best likenesses of a real actor ever, and so I have no need for a new one.
  3. I have moved this to Licensed because it definitely doesn't belong in Town - and also featured it because the builds are very well done! Excellent brick-built details at this scale, and honestly I wish LEGO took more liberties with the building details and precise style of their brickheadz. These fit the brief but are oozing personality.
  4. Well 4867 was originally intended to be called Battle for Hogwarts, an actually fitting name, before it was changed to the bland and ill-fitting final name. But that's beside your point, which stands. You can't always read a particular scene of set of circumstances into the name. See plenty of recent examples: Clock Tower, Astronomy Tower, Ministry of Magic... none of those names say the actual scenes the sets depict.
  5. @ubertoys it is a lovely design, but not Licensed (so doesn't belong in this topic) and having your first post on this site being self-promotion is not what we're all about.
  6. The survey JeanGrey got contained many sets that are currently out on shelves as well, and they too were watermarked in the same way. So it isn't too weird. Where was it said that Rivendell wasn't from the same source? There's so much info swirling around that it's hard to keep track now.
  7. I was always surprised LEGO made that first Deadpool, but I'd almost be even more surprised with another one now that he's very publicly associated with a vulgar R-rated series. What LEGO will touch based on simply comic source material and what they'll touch based on mass media like film is different, I should think. But here's hoping for all of the people who missed out on the first one.
  8. Ok enough with the squabbling. It's derailing a thread that should be focussed on the cool LEGO. No more, move on now.
  9. If you believe that's real, then every other leak that's been posted recently here is real too. At least in terms of existence. I'm still taking it with a healthy grain of salt until one of these shows up in more finalised official images. And there's always the possibility that LEGO is truly market testing them and won't follow through with some.
  10. The Entry Topic is now open, so I will be pinning this topic for the duration of the contest. Let us know any questions in the comments here. Looking forward to seeing what people make!
  11. Licensed Cozy Corners ContestFebruary 1 - March 4 2023 Post one picture as your entry in a reply to this topic. Your entry must meet all of the rules and criteria laid out in the Rules & Discussion topic. Happy building!
  12. It's Star-Lord's helmet to match the helmet line but this one happens to be a pen, pencil and scissors holder? What the absolute heck? And why is this one more expensive than Star Wars helmets - a whopping suggested $130 AUD!? Get out of town for that price. The Marvel team is really taking some weird swings lately. At least the helmet itself looks great, but yeah, hair would be better even if that would connote a severed head.
  13. Oops I didn't realise what thread I was in. Embarrassing....
  14. @Something_Awesome Dude. Why so combative and patronizing? Other people report your posts for your tone and they're not out of line for doing so. Keep it going and we'll have a private chat, because someone making a thread unpleasant for everyone isn't tolerated. Believe what you want to believe. I have already explained myself, politely. If you care to weigh in about speculative stuff you haven't seen, you must also do so politely.
  15. Nothing to do with new animals, but I was realising next year is the 15th anniversary of Medieval Market Village, which introduced the cow. I still fondly remember building that set on a hotel room floor, struggling through the frustrating process of a set that large with no numbered bags.
  16. No it wouldn't. Those are wild conclusions that you are drawing based on extremely sketchy information. Please read my post on these new rumours in the Disney thread, which I linked higher up on this page and even reiterated right here in this thread that there's no indication on release timeline, if the stuff is real at all. For what it's worth I can completely see LEGO having Rivendell releasing this year, and another D2C in mid-development now for release next year IF Rivendell does well. It would take too long to wait for the sales numbers to come back and only then start development, because that could push the follow-up set off by a year. They'd have something part-way there and then decide whether or not to proceed based on sales and other factors. A theme that consists of a yearly D2C isn't beyond the pale of imagination. They already do that with in-house stuff like the modular buildings, winter sets, etc. No reason they couldn't with a Licensed theme too.
  17. I don't know why anyone would think this alleged info has any impact on Rivendell. Rivendell is super duper confirmed by very reliable sources.
  18. With DC we'll be lucky to even get torso printing Just kidding, but personally I doubt we'll see much in the way of new moulds especially for something like the cowl, which is so long overdue that they might just never do it.
  19. Yes anyone curious can read my remarks here. If I wasn't clear enough in that post, there's no indication that any of this stuff will ever be released, nor if it is released, when. Provided it's real, that is.
  20. Please don't spin things out of control. You can read my actual public remarks on the matter here from the Disney thread. That's what I had to say on the topic. For what it's worth, I absolutely do not want to see everyone suddenly swing all the way and believe it's fully true only to be rather disappointed, but I think I articulated that in my post which I linked.
  21. Ok the speculative back and forth can stop. And yes, people being extremely rude and vindictive is never proper in any circumstances. I am the moderator in question and I have been shown the alleged leaked images. Of course anything can be faked these days, even very convincingly. Taking uncorroborated information from an unknown source with a high amount of skepticism is the right thing to do. That said, if these are fake, this has to be one of the most high effort trolls for absolutely zero reward that I have ever seen. People gain notoriety and a following through trolling on Instagram. Fake leak trolls on EB usually show their cards pretty clearly and quickly start acting up. I wouldn't put this past anyone (there are a lot of people with way too much time on their hands), and there are aspects of the circumstances that do sound rather implausible, but again, the evidence has had a lot of work put into it to be shown to no one other than an EB mod and fool no one (if we presume it's fake). Also to clarify, it's from an alleged market research survey and I wouldn't say it's even being presented as a guarantee that any of these sets will come out. We do know for a fact that TLG develops some stuff that never makes it through to completion or even near completion. So, do with it what you will. Most people don't believe it, which again is very fair. But the poster of the leaks isn't belabouring the point, and I'd ask others to do the same. Don't believe it and carry on.
  22. It's at least the third entry we've put on the frontpage, and the contest runs for another nearly three weeks. Drives interest in and exposure for the contest in general, which is good for all the entries. That's the aim, anyway.
  23. Rules and discussion are now live for our latest Licensed contest - Cozy Corners! Head on over to the topic in the Licensed forum to view them, and start building.
  24. Contest rules are live! The entry topic will open on February 1st.
  25. Apparently some people already got them through Mercari in the US. Source: Instagram.
