  1. Different lines get different budgets, plain and simple. LEGO Star Wars has almost universally had leg prints for quite some years now. It's almost rarer to find a Star Wars minifig without one. Then again, Star Wars has been a top selling theme for actual decades at this point.
  2. Seeing more of the Lost Tomb set, I'm really drawn to that one. Major Adventurers vibes with all the play features being the focus, yet modern standards of design and structural integrity of course. I actually like that it gives a petty big footprint for the price, especially compared with sets nowadays, and it looks less bare from normal angles than it does on the front of the box. If I get any of them, it'll be that one.
  3. Thanks to everyone who has entered. Entries are now closed, and voting will open soon.
  4. Ohhh boy a single geared tooth part has shown up - does that mean more coming soon? Still waiting for the exclusive hairpieces from the Foosball set....
  5. They're all just side printed, not dual moulded. They could've printed Harry's foot areas in the same fashion, but knowing LEGO's light nougat printing on black, it's probably better they didn't.
  6. That was a year earlier though, and LEGO's prices have risen a little since then (even before the announced price rises). The $100 USD Bad Batch Shuttle was $150 AUD. Now $100 USD sets are generally priced between $160 and $180 AUD. But yeah, in general Australian prices don't simply follow US prices, and LEGO's regional pricing is never about a straight currency conversion. It's about the individual markets and a range of other factors - I'm sure they have formulas for these things.
  7. Though I only plan on getting the Black Lake, the thing I like best about this entire March wave is all the previous wrongs they are righting with Minifigure design. They've done new proper faces for Draco, Krum and Cedric, and given Cho a much better skin tone. Those are all great to see. But personally since I'm only getting the Black Lake, on the part front I look forward to the Grindylow which will go nicely with the Pixie, and for Minifigures I always like getting more sleeping head options.
  8. Oh interesting, on the 360 spin it really looked to me like there was no arm printing. You can see the back of Aurora's hair on the 360. It's pretty long.
  9. The tail is clearly visible in the 360 spin, and it looks like they've printed the front AND sides of the piece green so it really blends in well. Missed opportunity with Pocahontas to include a couple of action stand pieces in order to set up the leaves actually blowing in the wind. Also weird that they haven't printed the red tattoo on her right arm. That American minister of magic woman from 2018 has printed hair on her head. Nothing's ever really gone.
  10. Looks like a nice series for people who like the properties especially. As usual for minifigure based on animation, especially older/2D animation, many of these prints look very simplified and lacking detail to the standard of other modern minifigures, even Pocahontas, who I otherwise like very much. I can only see myself getting five or so of these really: Pocahontas for that hair especially, the queen who has good parts, Cruella, (new dog and fun outfit), Mulan and probably Facilier (I like the hat and his face and torso). Maybe Tiana and Aurora, but only maybe. Could depend on alternate faces because I'm not loving the ones shown here.
  11. Ever since they moved CMF production from being solely in China (LEGO Movie 2 and onwards), they have sold select CMF pieces on Bricks&Pieces/Pick-a-brick. They usually list the hairpieces, some random accessories, and stuff like recoloured but unprinted parts.
  12. For my part on this Ministry discussion, I agree with all of this (besides maybe fantastic build - not that it was bad, it was just repetitive), but what really lets down the Ministry for me is the nearly unusable interior. There's hardly any room for play or even display in the interior because the rooms are SO thin. There's no place to put a figure standing in most of them. I'm also mixed on the representations of the hall of prophecies and the court room being jammed into what are offices from the outside. They are nice references, but again look kind of weird and random on display and don't work well for play at least when the Ministry is in tower mode. Overall I found the Ministry pretty great as an AFOL-leaning set - good external display and impact, fun details to behold while building that you'll never look at again, and lots of excellent and novel Minifigures - but I could've used at least one more stud of depth for all the rooms to make them feel a bit more resolved.
  13. Perhaps you don't check regularly enough. There have been lots of early leaked minifigures, all the leaked IJ sets, all those pics from that survey, the Disney100 CMF, and that's just off the top of my head in the past couple of months. All the leaked stuff ends up on the hashtag.
  14. Uh, that's not true. Actual leaked stuff turns up there when it leaks out. Yes people misuse it too, but it's still the best way to see leaked stuff for those interested. Anyway, very off topic now.
  15. The rules say this: "Your MOC must fit within a 12x12 frame but does not have to be on an actual base. No height limit." Fitting within a 12x12 frame is fitting within a 12x12 frame. If you have a part like a vine with a little bit that juts out of that, I'm not going to disqualify you or tell you to change it, but rules are rules.
  16. No. Pick another entry you like or abstain.
  17. Yep that's fine, just has to be a character's space, doesn't actually have to be "cozy". Cozy Corners is just a nice alliterative name for the contest
  18. Sure go ahead and post the link. And once the contest is over, feel free to post a whole MOC topic if you'd like to.
  19. Please post just one photo. We'll only use the one photo in the voting topic anyway.
  20. Yeah ever since one wave of CMF got delayed during the massive upheaval of pandemic shipping delays, now they've just gone ahead and set the Aus/NZ release to be one month later than the rest of the world every single time. Oh well...
  21. Alleged by who? Where does all the speculation passed off as fact come from? Marvel mechs - pulled and retooled after review copies had already been sent out to LAN members. Overwatch 2 set - pulled after it had already been shipped to some stores. Osprey - pulled after an entire production run had been done for it. City TNT Factory - as I recall announced to be pulled directly by LEGO, no advance warning from leakers (but maybe I'm misremembering on this particular one) Point is, this stuff is happening recently what seems to be VERY late in the day.
  22. Everybody ready to chill? I hope so. If anyone replies to old comments that were part of this outrage/being offended by Indy discussion, or continues it, I will hide your responses at first, and have a private chat with you if it continues. Thanks. Resharing this too for context, so please everybody, chill out until we know some more. No more rampant destructive speculation.
  23. Cool. Ok. So everyone turned this into a gigantic argument about perceived outrage for absolutely no reason. I'm going to lock this thread for a few hours because it's the only way for people on all sides to cool off. Sorry it had to come to this but nobody is going to stop otherwise.
  24. So it could actually have a faulty play feature like the Marvel mechs which LEGO only found at the 11th hour? Or there could be literally any unknown reason for it?
  25. Alright everyone, this spiralled WAY out of control. Put a pin in it now, from all sides. Where was ANY reason given for this rumour? I saw Promobricks' IG story. It gave no context. But everyone here has immediately taken it in a baseless direction of discussion of potentially offensive material? If anyone has any additional information please PM me as I'm curious to know why everyone thinks the rumour is based on people being offended by what the set depicts.
