  1. I don't know. He sort of looks like Sirius, but the facial hair color is wrong of course. I'm not sure how much he looks like Lupin either… Maybe Lupin will have more facial hair in part II?
  2. I exhausted my groaners, for now. Girl Power
  3. Well, these Toy Fair pictures don't really change a lot for me, besides for the fact that Padme clearly has the same head as Hermione! That really sucks... LEGO is willing to redesign old figures and design tons of new ones, but they can't make a new face for Padme? Geez. Ki-Adi's head piece does look absolutely terrible. Besides for the big gap between his head and the piece, what's with that huge protrusion on the front? He doesn't look like that. The face is great, though, as are the other new Jedi. I still can't tell if Vos is the normal flesh color or the darker shade, but now it seems like the regular light one, which is good. Hopefully the two identical Clones will change so that Commander Wolffe has a different design, but I doubt it's going to happen. Oh well, new Clones are new Clones.
  4. I have to agree that besides for Narcissa, the set is a huge disappointment to anybody who already has the other figures. Obviously, to those who don't have the Castle and Hagrid's Hut/Diagon Alley, the minifigure selection is excellent. It's just that to people who do have the set, there's nothing going for it parts-wise, so Narcissa becomes the sole reason to purchase it. Or you may want duplicate Voldemorts? I dunno… The Knight Bus is also not on my want list. Even though the interior may be "improved," it still looks to not have much going on inside. It looks to me as if the white thing that Stan is holding onto in the pics is what passes for a "bed" on each level, which doesn't spell good interior in my book. I also can't tell if it has the open back door like it does in the film or not. It looks like it couldn't to me, but there haven't been any pictures I've seen of that side, so who's to say. I still think the Battle of Hogwarts is fairly good. The model has a nice look to it, and the middle walkway clearly explodes somehow; I spy some sort of nob at the rear of it. I wonder what the towers will hold, though the righthand one has some sort of globe or astronomy chart. At first I thought the printing was the same as in the PotC Captain's Cabin, but I'm not so sure anymore. I think it's still a strong enough set to warrant a purchase, but I'm not sure it will go very well with the newest Hogwarts because of the rocky bottoms to the towers.
  5. Ok, let's see how quickly you get this one… Tea Shack
  6. Oh, come now! 'Snip' and 'barber;' That's obvious! The next one may be simpler, and maybe it won't be. If you don't get, you don't get it.
  7. I promised a groaner, you get a groaner… Barber Jedi More groaners coming!
  8. Which one? The hockey player is a collectible Series 4 minifigure; Savage Opress is in a summer Star Wars set. This does look to be the same mould that was used in the only minifigure hockey set from about five years ago. I don't think it would work for Castle at all.
  9. In this LEGO report about what will be at Toy Fair, the prices of these sets are listed as 14.99 and 19.99 USD. I know somebody else already reported this, but I thought it was worth sharing the source. Shame that the small one isn't in the $10 price range, but these prices are still not too bad.
  10. Don't worry, just watch FBTB.net and you should be covered. SirStevesGuide.com is another good website that always has extensive coverage of LEGO at the Toy Fair.
  11. Why thank you! I'd gotten sick of the all white on my own funnies, it's just hard for me to work with sometimes. Since these are supposed to be more lighthearted than reviews and the like, I figured adding some color would be just fine. This next one can sort of be seen as a sequel to my last one, though I didn't plan it that way… Jedi Drama
  12. Leia has a new face and what looks like a new hair piece. That's certainly a new minifigure. Luke certainly has a new hairpiece, and looks like he has a new angry expression as well, so that makes him a new minifigure. When the minifigure is different in some way than previous versions, it's new. That makes perfect sense: would you not call the new Boba Fett a new minifigure just because the character was released before? Is the Han that comes in the Slave I or AT-AT not a new minifigure just because there have been Hans before? They are new minifigures. And honestly, even if there weren't any new minifigures in the set at all, what would the problem be? Would you rather they threw in a new Tarkin or something just to have a new minfigure? I suspect that if that had happened, you would've complained about how silly it is of TLG to throw in figures that don't have to do with the ship just to boost sales.
  13. It's a slobby looking t-shirt, for fleshies. People wear plenty of random t-shirts in real life, so why shouldn't minifigures? I strongly disagree. I thought that the last wave signalled the end as well, but seeing that LEGO has made two new sets says to me that the Spongebob line is still limping along as it always has. There has never been a wave of this theme with more than three normal sets, I don't think. Why are the costumes stupid just because they may have not appeared in the show? On their own merit, I think the costumes look pretty neat, and the looks of the characters certainly do fit the Spongebob and Patrick in the show. One thing that's great about this theme is the amount of different versions of the characters made.
  14. I love that this thread is so alive now. I wonder why it died for a year. Anyway, with some new Jedi in hand I've come up with plenty more ideas, with some bad puns to boot. This one isn't a play-on-words exactly, but don't worry, I will get there…
  15. Ok, if they never wore those outfits before, then why are there T-Shirts… and other merchandise… …showing these outfits? LEGO would not make up costumes never appearing the show for the characters. They may have only appeared in one episode or something, but LEGO would not just make them up.
  16. Don't they have their own costumes at one point as well, which is where this set draws from? I recall them having their own costumes, and a quick Google search brings up some other Spongebob toys with Spongebob in this blue outfit. While I understand that people wanted to see the actual heroes, you also must remember that with so few Spongebob sets it makes sense to see more main characters in each. I for one am very excited about seeing a blue cape, even if it's short, and the upside is that neither of these sets will be very expensive. I can see both of Patrick's new torsos being very useful.
  17. We might not have heard of that sticker book before, but that doesn't make it interesting.
  18. Didn't you see my ' ' Yes, I'd like to see some official torsos for the other houses as well (not that yours aren't great, Tin7, I just don't like decals), though I think it's never going to happen.
  19. Huh? I don't understand what you're trying to say here. Also, Crabbe is not going to be in the film, and Goyle will set the fire (and die, probably).
  20. I just wanted to mention that I stopped into my local Borders and found that they have a huge stock of new sets. All of the Police, Pharoah's Quest, Ninjago, and Star Wars lines were there (besides store exclusives, of course). I suspect that this might reflect most Borders stores since they tend to carry similar items, so be on the lookout for some of those 33, 40, and 50 percent off coupons and you may be able to get yourself a good deal. The set are priced a bit above LEGO's prices, but with a coupon you will still be able to save money.
  21. Did you do some computer editing on the Luke head, Praiter Yed? Looks like you flipped his mouth upside down, which works perfetly I must say. You're becoming a master at these; your photography is truly excellent. I feel I've fallen into a slump lately. Once my new Jedi arrive, though, I have some more ideas that I've been cooking up.
  22. No, I meant Asoka, not Ahsoka, Asoka is the named guy with the white plume in the PoP Fight for the Dagger set, who turns out not to be a character in the movie. The guy who I think LEGO was trying to make there has about two seconds of screen time and an unimportant fight with Dastan, before losing just like everybody else that Dastan fights. In Star Wars they don't make unimportant characters (generally), so that is why I didn't factor it into my point. From my perspective, Yaxley does have a bit of a look, and even has some substantial things to do in Hallows part I. He's got a long blonde pony tail, for one thing, so I'm sure kids would go "Oh, that's the guy with the long blonde pony tail from the movie!" if LEGO had put him in a set. Or maybe LEGO thought he would look too similar to Lucius? I don't know. Of course Lucius being included isn't going to stop me buying the set, but it's just a little dissapointing. Even as a generic Death Eater, every Death Eater has a different mask, so an army of the exact same mask isn't too good either.
  23. Similar in that the front hinges up, perhpas, but I highly doubt there will be room for anything in ther besides some storage space, as fallenangel suggested. As for the ship being shiny, I guess it isn't really in the films. I always imagine it being a little shiny, but that could just be my bad memory. In any case, I still find it to be quite ugly, and would've rathered see Padme's ship where the duel actually takes place. Fallenangel is also correct that, with so much new content, there have not been any CW rehashes, unless you count CW versions of the AT-TE, RGS and AAT, each of which were enhanced from their older, crappier versions. I find it unlikely that we will ever see CW rehashed ship, since there are always new ones appearing the show that LEGO can draw upon for sets. I don't know where all of the complaints about the Falcon are coming from either. Though I only have the original version myself, I have seent he second version and I thought that is was a vast improvement upon the original, and a fine set in its own right. I think that the flaps on the roof are a great way to make the circular shape and have wonderful, easily accessed playability, and this new version seems to have more interior details than the other two, or at least better-designed details. If some of the sizing is a little off, oh well. That's a toy for you. And the fact that you can only seat two figures in the cockpit... does it really matter? Even if LEGO crammed in four or five seats it still wouldn't be accurate anyway, since the cockpit is quite roomy in the films. I'm not saying that I am going to purchase the new Falcon, but it certainly seems like a good rendition of the ship to me. The Santa Yoda is quite magnificient. That is the best Santa toros LEGO has made yet (actually, all previous Santas had a plain red torso, didn't they?). His lack of beard is a little innacurate, though.
  24. I do not think this word means what what you think it means - I'm pretty sure neither of the former Infiltrators had Big Ugly Rock Pieces. I really don't see the charm of the Sith Infiltrator. It seems like a hard ship to get right, perhaps because it's a dark ugly ship to begin with. It's like Vader's Tie with a Pinocchio nose on the front, painted all shiny and given some red eyes. The first version was horridly blocky, the second one was on the small side and had too many big slopes, and this one just seems… ugly. The front sloping section looks ultra-thin and unattached to the back portion. It also doesn't seem to have symmetrical plates on the bottom sloping upwards to meet the downward sloping ones on top, which just looks awkward. I think LEGO should just stop trying to make a ship that was crappy to begin with. Even though this one is quite big and will fetch a hefty price tag, it looks like it will have next-to-no interior or features (probably some hidden flick-fires), and be utterly worthless for the money, no matter what country you're in. If they are going to make this shiny ship grey every time, I would've liked to see a grey rendition of Padme's Episode I ship, even if they'd scaled it way down to meet the same price point. They could've included the exact same figures (and speeder bike) too.
  25. Well, there are actually quite a lot, even ones that appear in the films. The Carrows spring to mind, but there are also Yaxley, Dolohov, etc. In other licensed themes (I'm thinking PoP and PotC here), LEGO releases many named characters of lesser importance (Asoka, anyone?). There are plenty of named Death Eaters in the films, especially the Deathly Hallows parts one and two, who even have distinctive looks to them. I wish LEGO could have made any one of them to put in the Battle for Hogwarts besides for Lucius.
