  1. Nice one Praiter. It took me a second to get it, but then and I got it, and liked it. Maybe why I was confused at first was because of the staging; it doesn't really look like Vader is talking to anybody at all since the Tie pilots are so far away. Here's a funny inspired by a certain revelation at Toy Fair… Look-Alikes
  2. Ok, well I've never heard it spoken at all. It's got two "i"s in it, so it at least is spelled like tie-in. (Why would two "i"s be pronounced just like one "i" anyway? That's stupid…) Howabout I just appease you with my other groaner? Qui-Gon's Gin
  3. You just don't get jokes that have Saessee Tiin, do you? Legonator, I like it, but it looks more like Jar-Jar is talking, so it doesn't make sense that the caption has 'Jar-Jar' in it.
  4. Nice one Praiter. Cringers/groaners are great fun to make! Like this: Tie-ins
  5. I'm sorry, the Community Forum is really not for personal advertisements; it's for group discussion. As I can't see this turning into a discussion, I'm going to lock it.
  6. So, what I got out of that video was that there is going to be a young Jedi of the same species as Ki-Adi Mundi. Cool! Chewie's arms do look a little skinny, but I don't think overly so. As long as they don't try too much for comedy with him, it should be fine. I just don't want to see Chewie becoming a comic sidekick.
  7. I wouldn't worry Kiel; I bet that they will get listed as a character on Bricklink, with the ability to part them out also. Just as animals can be bought in "complete assembly," those who run and update Bricklink will probably realize that people want to buy the whole characters, and list them that way.
  8. I believe it has something to do with the sleepy-but-awake look of Tiin's face, thus the connection to coffee and caffeine. Fundraiser
  9. Do you really think there will be sales, though? I'd imagine that in a big chain like Borders they'd just move the stores' inventory to a warehouse and use it for online sales.
  10. You don't have to put it back into your iPhoto. If you resized it in Preview, that means it's out of your iPhoto and you can just upload it directly to BS. But in the meantime, do take out the huge photo from your post.
  11. Aaahh! It's huge! I like it, but you have to resize it! 800x600 is the maximum allowed. Since you're using BS, you have to resize it in iPhoto, or even easier, just using Preview (which, since you have iPhoto, you must have Preview as well). Resizing is easy. Open the pic in Preview, go to Tools>Adjust Size… Then reupload to BS.
  12. They were posted two posts above you. Besides that, you also must realize that all of those pictures are just cut out off FBTB's Toy Fair coverage pics.
  13. I don't really know what I'm looking at, but it seems Flo's Cafe seems to have some sort of launcher function? I see technic stuff in the middle of it, which looks like it connect to the large dish on the top, as if you push down on the dish and it "kicks" a car. Besides that, I don't see any other play functions in these sets, but of course they're cars, which make them play functions all by themselves. I do also spy the occasional flick-fire and of course the rocket on Ultimate Build Mater, which undoubtedly fires.
  14. Well, I've just made a big ol' batch of nine new comics, trying out a new color backdrop. I think I might make it standard for myself to use blue on "films" comics (PT/OT) and yellow on CW comics. Although one of my batch is a crossover. Anyway, here's one that I've had in my head for a while now… Anakin Dropped
  15. I'm not sure. That darker flesh tone was also used on a bunch of Indiana Jones figures, and it really looks darker than Captain Panaka's head. It's also clear that Panaka's head is not the normal flesh color, and it does look like Nougat to me. Once these sets come out we will know for sure.
  16. 1. In fact, you can fit five minifigures in the escape pod. One fits in the cockpit, and another one fit in the silly gunner station which is on top of the ship before the engines. All in all, even without the side interiors you can fit in more minifigures than come with the set. 2. Check the FBTB photoset. It certainly has an underside picture, but maybe not engines. Check the videos and you will likely get a glimpse of the engines.
  17. I believe it is the nougat color that was introduced in Prince of Persia sets.
  18. I would say "big and detailed," but really, since its LEGO's term, UCS is whatever they want it to be. Official UCS sets tend to be bigger and more detailed than their System-scaled equivalents, though. A minifigure-scaled AT-ST would probably not be UCS, since it would still be fairly small. MOCers can always throw on more greebles and minute details than LEGO can though. Don't worry about what to call it if you make a nice MOC. A nice MOC is a nice MOC.
  19. Yeah yeah, I know some smartalec would comment about that. The dust here is horrendous! (And I do try to dust them before shots, but with such extreme closeups it always becomes problematic.)
  20. One thing's for sure, the eyepiece on the Bernoulli racecar is going to make for some great R2-D2 parodies. Anyhow, I think this theme has the biggest cute factor of any LEGO theme I've ever seen. It's kind of weird having a theme where there are no minifigures, of course, but that's how the source material is anyway, and I think LEGO pulled it off well. I'm especially happy that there are a whole bunch of cheap sets: Tokyo Pitstop, Grand Pix Racing Rivalry, and of course the standalone McQueen and Mater sets. Besides for McQueen and his girlfriend in the V8 Cafe set (and maybe Holly Shiftwell in the Spy Jet Escape), all of the cars seem built out of a lot of little bits, which is great. I'll admit that I was worried from the initial Lightning McQueen picture that all of the cars would be made out of a few larger pieces, but that's certainly not the case. I can't wait to pick up Mater and the Tokyo pitstop, those characters look fantastic! I'm sure this theme will sell very well with kids, just as all other Cars merchandise does. It's funny to think that even though the original Cars film was certainly not as good as some others of Pixar's work, I believe it was the bestselling ever. It certainly spawned the most merchandise. Maybe we will even see a second wave because of that.
  21. Well Masked, take a look at such sets as the UCS Snowspeeder, UCS Y-Wing, or UCS X-Wing. These sets are UCS-scale, but they're certainly not minifigure scale; they are way too big. Sometimes, obviously, UCS and minifigure-scale overlap, but the ship being built in UCS had to be large compared to humans for that to work out. If the ship is either a small fighter or a ridiculously large ship (like the Star Destroyer), then a UCS model will probably not be in minifigure scale.
  22. I love the pose of Admiral Ackbar on the Calamari Rings one, Jedd. Great stuff! Luminara's Plight
  23. If they don't get it, they're really not up enough on their LEGO. I must admit I thought of that same idea too, but I couldn't execute it without the actual figures. Nice job.
  24. Are you kidding? Sure, molded characters are nice, but you honestly don't care that female characters look the same from line to line? It makes me bummed that LEGO doesn't feel like designing most female characters very differently, they have to be old or really distinctive to warrant prints that look different most of the time these days. Would you like if Luke and young Obi-Wan still looked exactly the same? I never liked that either, but Padme definitely does not look like Hermione, so her figure shouldn't either.
  25. And, in addition to CallMePie's answer, the Store Exclusives do not usually appear at Toy Fair. I think these are all regular releases.
