I suggest you read the first post CommanderFox, since all of the info is there. The Clones in the Frigate are Commander Wolfe and one of his Clone regiment. The videogames are never indicators of the actual minifigures we will expect to see, and even when LEGO does put out figures of characters who first appeared in LEGO form in a game, they often look different in their plastic versions.

It always amuses me how inept some of the people setting up at Toy Fairs are. I mean, don't actual LEGO employees set up the models, and can't the look at the box pictures? Why would they put Qui-Gon's hair and lightsaber on Panaka?
-
Good catch Cad Bane, that certainly is a difference. Hopefully the box is a little preliminary, and his figure will have black horns all around. The yellow ones certainly are ugly. The positioning of Anakin on that box is also a little funny; it looks like he's staring off in another direction and not paying attention to the fight. I know LEGO always cheats out the figs so that you can clearly see them on the packaging, but it's a bit much in that image.

No, the Neville head looks different to me. The eyebrows are not the same as Mutt, and the mouth seems angrier. As for Goyle, I don't know why you say he looks unfinished. His head looks about the same as the old Goyle figure except with pupils (and in flesh, of course), but that doesn't surprise me. I think this image is of the finished set.

Yes, it's a new torso. So, it seems LEGO has changed the speederbike again. Not that it would be very difficult to MOD it to be exactly the same as the Battle of Endor ones, but really, those looked better. That bigger brown piece on the top just looks bad, and I find the lack of lightsaber blades on the front disturbing. I guess LEGO just needs to keep up its record of never releasing two sets with the same Endor speeder bike. Going strong with four different models, though, as I said, the differences between this one and the Battle of Endor ones are quite slight.

How can you tell that Leia looks ? Even on the biggest resolution of the image I can't really tell what her face looks like. I just think it was high time for a Han classic torso redo. Honestly, that torso has never changed (besides for getting flesh color)! That blank, featureless chest has always looked crappy, and I would think LEGO would redo it by now. They redid Luke, and his printing was already pretty good.
-
Yep, it definitely says 'Gregory Goyle,' but that's ok. How much do we really need other house torsos anyway? I'm not sure why they're still using that old hairpiece on Lupin, it never looked accurate for him, and the newer short hair looks much better. Also, why does Neville have a broom, and why is Harry in his Hogwarts uniform? That doesn't make sense for the scene, but oh well. I'm not going to complain when we get four either new or redesigned figures, and a pretty good set that will fit in well with the Hogwarts set (sort of, the rocks on the bottom won't make the transition smooth). I can't wait to see what there is as for features. Also, are there pics of the other sets where that came from?

Star Wars: The Clone Wars: season 3 discussion
Clone OPatra replied to Corvus's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Well, I don't think that either episode has conflicted with the films so much so far, but they just sort of suck. This second one especially had nothing interesting going on, period. It seems Filoni and/or Lucas are trying extremely hard to create brand new characters and intrigue to heighten the excitement, but with this new arc, they've just failed. I don't think that even kids would get that much out of the father/sister/brother crazy force world place. Honestly, those classic Clone Wars arcs like the Ryloth Trilogy and anything with Clones is a lot more exciting. Hopefully, from those episode descriptions, the next few episodes after this arc is over will feature Clones and more interesting things going on. -
You'd rather that these figures didn't have normal minifigure heads so that they could be easily used in other figures? That's silly. If it's a choice between a head with an extension and an entire molded head, I'd much rather have the normal head. That way they are still like normal minifigures, and you can use both the top piece and the head for other figures. For characters who have normal human-looking heads that just have something weird instead of hair, I think it works very well.

You're quite right Gregorovitch. Clash of the Titans already came and went in 2010. Even the link you provided AcientCiv, is a link to the Wikipedia page for the 2010 film. Why did you include that when it's an already released film and doesn't correspond to your topic?

Unfortunately, the set doesn't have a unicorn, and probably doesn't have Fang. It has already been established that the set is from the Deathly Hallows Part II film, and at least contains Narcissa Malfoy and Harry Potter, and possibly Hagrid, though that is not clear.

General Pirates of the Caribbean Theme Discussion Thread

It looks to me like there is actually a tiny patch of skin right under the head. The body for the Carriage driver, which is the same as Ollivander from Harry Potter, does not have any flesh on it, I don't think. -
My sentiments exactly Derek. Really, figure wish lists for the sets we know about and set wishlists are just useless. What is there new to add? "I want all of the locations that we don't have yet and all of the figures that we don't have yet." Please, it just keeps bumping this thread up for no reason. It's supposed to be a discussion thread for actual rumors and actual information. You don't have to keep posting if you have nothing to say but "I want this and this and this and this…" Once some more real information surfaces, I'm sure plenty of people will be nice enough to come back to this topic and post it, but until then, all of these wish lists are getting extremely tedious.

General Pirates of the Caribbean Theme Discussion Thread
Clone OPatra replied to Oswald the Rabbit's topic in LEGO Pirates
Ah, I didn't know the slit occurred in Sandy's helmet, since I have never actually seen the part in person myself. It makes sense that they would use those parts, in that case (though I still think it could work as a play feature for Jack to stab the map with his sword and fling it at the zombies). -

No, the globe is not made of those parts. See here, it's a new single part with a slit in it: -

So from that event picture gallery it is clear that the globe is a new piece with a slit to fit on a sword. Glad that one is finally settled. Much like PoP, almost every single one of these sets look splendid. Really the only one that doesn't seem too enthralling to me is the Mill, just because it isn't much of an interesting building, though Conchman is wonderful. I don't really understand where the 'looks sparse' comments have come from either. I suppose the complaint that the QAR doesn't have enough figures, though it does have two exclusive to it, but some of the other sets certainly make up for that. Whitecap Bay looks like an excellent value with a full building and a whole bunch of figures exclusive to that set. The only downside of it all is that so many lovely sets are certain to break the bank, but even without buying the larger sets there is a boatload of new figures, accessories, and parts to have. I do not think that any of the hat and hair combos are separable. Looking at the close-ups, Angelica's hair under the hat is not quite the same as the Elizabeth hair, and the Sparrow hat with hair is a different piece than the hair with bandanna. At least the lovely Blackbeard hat is a separate piece from the hair; that one is great! -
A bit out of date joke about when LEGO switched the lightsaber hilts to plain grey...

Which is better, Star TREK or Star WARS?
Clone OPatra replied to vahkimetru's topic in Culture & Multimedia
I do not think that the shininess of the Enterprises necessarily makes Star Trek lamer than Star Wars. Even in-universe, it makes sense that the Starfleet ships should be shiny and clean; their purpose is not combat, it's exploring the galaxy. Sure, in countless of the Trek films and episodes they end up coming into space combat with some baddies, for which they have weapons and shields, but the purpose is still to just fly around and explore. Not all Star Trek ships are so sleek either; the Klingon ships for example are dark little things, and tend to have very dingy interiors. Not to mention Borg craft, or Romulan, etc. Nearly all of the craft in Star Wars are not designed only to explore, but to serve some sort of purpose that would usually involve it becoming quite weathered. It makes perfect sense that plenty of the craft in the PT would be nice and shiny; how often do you think the Naboo fight space battles or do anything at all with their fighters? And much of the Republic's vehicle are relatively clean because they are new, after a few months of seeing battle they aren't so clean any more. The overall effect of the weathered Star Wars ships is a much grittier series than Star Trek, but that is already evident in the plot lines anyway. Though I like Star Wars more myself, I also enjoy the more laid-back and exploring vibe of Star Trek, as it's something done much less often in Sci-Fi. To me, Star Wars feels like normal Earth stuff but expanded to an entire galaxy where each planet is basically a Country, while Star Trek is much more 'realistic' in that the reaches of space are still often unknown territories. I must also say that the new Star Trek film (and hopefully series) introduced a significantly different tone to all former Star Trek installments, and I thoroughly loved it. It felt like a Star Trek film with a Star Wars pace and intrigue, and I hope that Abrams and the rest of the team can continue that feeling for at least a couple more films. -
Don't just say sorry; resize those pics! They look great, but the huge size is making my browser run slowly!

Going old school, here's my first with just a title…

Will you people please stop? I think Brickdoctor was trying to move on from that even in his post, so please don't bring up this stuff again. Go discuss it in Culture and Multimedia if you really want to. Since he's tattooed in the show, he'll be tattooed as a minifigure, got it? You are right that they are just prelims, which makes the Geonosian just a prototype. Maybe he won't even be green by the time the NY Toy Fair rolls around, and I'm sure he won't have a 'giraffe neck.' Also, it doesn't even seem like a joke to give Watto a cup. He was hanging out and watching the podrace even in the film itself, so it seems logical that he might want to have a drink.

I love seeing this topic so alive! I know I said I wasn't going to make fun of Clone Wars, but I figured out how to do it without using Clone Wars figures!

There is already a topic for this very question over in LEGO General Discussion. Also, I know you're new here, but please do not put smiley faces and such in your titles if you happen to start a topic. Honestly, you shouldn't be starting topics so early on anyway (unless they are reviews), but writing in smileys makes you seem immature. Thanks.
