  1. Wow, that is a truly beautiful entry. So much purple, and coupled with the dark orange it works magnificently. I also love how you've done the Weasley statue with a full body built into the building. Best of luck in the contest!
  2. That would be very strange indeed if it were true. I'm inclined to think that that is incorrect, since it is listed as "Hard to Find" rather than "Exclusive," but it is equally strange that none of the U.S. exclusive store triumvirate (Wal Mart, Target, and TRU) seem to carry this set when it is already available for sale from LEGO. It's remarkably odd.
  3. Well, I tried to answer this question a few posts up, but I still cannot seem to find out a true answer. So, has anybody in the United States found 7869 Battle for Geonosis at any store other than LEGO? I still cannot seem to find out to which retail store this set is exclusive.
  4. Plisskin, I truly love your "Aayla's Day Off" comic. What really makes that one great is the subtlety of it; sure, it only takes a split-second to put it together and get the joke, but it still isn't quite as obvious as many others that have been coming in. I'm not trying to bash anybody who's contributing, but I would just suggest trying to set up a frame and a caption that makes the reader have to put something together in their minds, even for a second. The reason that I chose to do single-caption, and not comics, is that a single caption implies other things that are not blatantly obvious. When you have just a single line of dialogue, you imagine in your mind what the other character being spoken to has just said, or what has just happened, or something along those lines. I encourage everybody to try to get a little subtler with your jokes; it will make them all the funnier. I have also missed a few days myself, but soon I will have some more content ready to go. Keep on contributing everyone!
  5. Not quite as bad, but along the same lines: read one of the newest reviews of the Star Wars T-6 Shuttle on TRU.com, the one titled "You have to assemble this!" Oh no, I never thought you'd have to assemble a LEGO toy! How horrendously terrible! I cannot imagine!
  6. No no no, Oky, that was a different sweepstakes, run through Facebook. I know the one you are referring to TFGuy, as I entered myself, and I can only suppose that the website is no longer up because the deadline for entering has passed. Maybe? Though still, it seems odd that they wouldn't post a message to that affect on the website. I have no idea when the winners are supposed to be announced, but if you don't here anything, that likely means you are not the winner.
  7. Ah, I see. Thanks for the info. By the way, commanderneyo, would you mind working on your wonky capitalization? I've held off mentioning this before, but it's really getting annoying to read time and time again. Thanks.
  8. I'm sure Morgan will answer, but if I'm not wrong it is a backwards and painted Star Wars Rebel Pilot helmet, which comes in many sets. Wonderful figures, Morgan! Your work is always fantastic!
  9. So are you saying that they actually kept something from the EU and put it into the Clone Wars? If that's the case then wow, way to go Filoni.
  10. Likes to arf at cats and sticks I'm guessing I got that from KimT due to my little ARF Trooper series of single-pane comics.
  11. Could it be a Keith Richards figures, Captain Teague? He is seen in the preview, but I really don't know in what context, so it probably isn't. But you never know. This sort of Licensed theme often has a lot of minor characters in it. Just look at PoP (or Speed Racer). This theme is looking great. Seems that LEGO is doing the "must put main character in every set" thing again, but that's ok. Jack is pretty cool figure, judging from that picture from ages ago. I'm loving those smaller sets, Cannibal Escape and down. It's a shame that the Captain's Cabin seems to contain two generic pirates, but hopefully they'll each be uniquely printed like all of the different PoP Hassansins. Are the figures in the Fountain of Youth set supposed to be Jack, Barbossa, and Blackbeard? It seems that way, but I'm not sure. I can't wait to see the more finalized versions of these figures, especially to find out what skeleton Barbossa will be like. I'd bet he will look pretty neat.
  12. Here's a little something about LEGO being a bit confused about its own minifigures…
  13. I like the joke and the setup that you're going for Legonator! What I would advise, though, is to move the Stormtoopers farther away or at least move them over so that the face part of both helmets is visible in one of the spaces between the clones. As it is now, the placing of the Stormies is a bit awkward and would look better if you could fully see their faces.
  14. Time for the third and last comic in my Advanced Recon Force Trooper series! (And the first HP crossover. Might there be more to come?)
  15. It would be a coincidence if GG did actually call it an antique in the show, but I don't think he ever does. I have watched every episode and I do not recall it.
  16. Is it a joke on "A long time ago…?" Otherwise, I don't understand.
  17. That's hard to pinpoint. Since I'm trying to do one a day, I just start brainstorming. Sometimes I collect a lot of Star Wars figures together and look at them, and other times things just pop into my head at random times and I remember them for when I do a shoot. Now, number two in this little series. Yes, the joke stems from the same place, but the context is, of course, different...
  18. I really like that first one LonelySquire! Your photography isn't stellar, but that is some quality humor right there. The seoncd one I'm not so sure on though, because it actually makes sense that the Imperials would want camoflaged speeder bikes; brown for forest, white for snow. It jsut seems like normal army tactics to me.
  19. Yes the parent sounds pretty stupid, but I am really sorry for the kid who's parent thinks he can't handle anything at all. I was the type that didn't want to build my own creations and just wanted to keep the sets together the way they were to play with, but it wasn't such a problem. It didn't take long to figure out that some models couldn't be swooshed with smashing, and so those I just wouldn't swoosh. Jeez. The author makes it sound as if all LEGO ships are terribly designed. Maybe some of the larger ones are fragile because they're large, but honestly most Star Wars models at least aren't going to fall to bits unless you actually drop them, and even then they usually do not totally explode. What a shame that kid can't be left to learn from the mistake of dropping his prized model and having to put it together. It may not be all that fun, but it makes you more careful the next time!
  20. Is that a bad thing? Selective focus makes for interesting photographs (just not usually in reviews!). I like the shot Oky. Harry's childish grin is perfect in that situation.
  21. Yes, Ravenxl7, besides for Kreacher I think those lists sound reasonable, though I doubt that they're quite right. I would certainly love to get Narcissa in the Forest set, and maybe they will make her. I was surprised with the ample amount of figures that I though we'd never see happen in the last wave. I hope that they put Sirius in normal form as well as the grim in the Bus set. Even though it wouldn't make much sense, I feel that LEGO would throw him in there. The only problem will be that he would probably be in prison clothes again, and I'd much rather have a cleaned-up Sirius. Maybe LEGO will surprise us!
  22. And now they're merged. Carry on!
  23. I believe it is a TRU exclusive, though it's not on their website any more. I think it was when they first put the new sets up, but now they've taken it down. Strange… I did see it in a LEGO Store, though, so it's certainly available. As for Mace's Starfighter, it's probably exclusive to either Target or Walmart.
  24. Today I start a three-day kick of poking fun at another Battle Pack target. These should be much less ambiguous than my horn jokes, and I don't think they will need explanation, even if you don't understand at first glance. In any case, the caption on day three will clear it all up, if you still haven't gotten the joke by then.
  25. I totally agree. Throughout all of those flashbacks she still looked normal/good enough, and then flip to the "present" and she's totally ugly, not to mention her voice sounding like she's been a chain smoker for a really long time. I guess that's what being an evil person does to you? Overall, much more interesting than a senate episode, though not awesome either. It's kind of hard to be all that exciting when you're having a character want to seek revenge on someone who you know doesn't die until later. I just hope they actually have Dooku (or Savage, or somebody) actually kill off Ventress at some point. They actually killed Ziro, so you never know. I don't understand why a sisterhood of assassins wear tiny short-shorts. Why would they dress like that? Ventress was better dressed for a while, yet now that she gets a whole episode she has to lose the skirt. At least they put a hood over that freaking ugly face, that's all I can say.
