  1. I am sorry if what I said seemed too blunt to you. Honestly, it was my intention to be blunt. I was and continue to be ticked off by the poll in this topic as well as some of fallenangel's responses to suggestions, and I do not see the reason for multiple somewhat "unfinished" versions of a MOC. I have a lot of respect for amazing MOCs. I have a lot of respect for the amount of work and close attention to detail that fallenangel puts into his X-Wing, and I insinuated as much in my above post. But I would like to see a certain level of respect reciprocated, and at times I have been very annoyed. But let us not start an argument here. It was not my intention to do so with my above post, and I do not at all wish to clutter this topic up with a pointless back-and-forth.
  2. Because nobody really thinks about these things too much, and there are tons of continuity errors anyhow And, if you take the films alone, there's nothing to say that there really was a major battle there. All you can tell from the films is that there's a massive space battle going on, and they somehow captured the Chancellor, although that couldn't have been too difficult because he wanted to get captured. So… Yeah, no point discussing these things too much. There's no way you can make sense out of it all, as we know.
  3. I don't understand why you just keep posting one average version after another instead of putting a lot of effort into making one great MOC. You're not working on a time limit, nobody really likes your negativity, so why don't you just concentrate your effort for a significant amount of time before calling a "version" done? Obviously, if you make a great MOC and then think of a lot of revisions, then that certainly makes sense for you to post a second version. But that is not what you are doing. You recognize that there are many crappy aspects to your work, but instead of fixing all the problems you just work on some areas, call it a day, and then start up a new thread later. Why not just give it more time? Your negativity is seriously irksome. You do not sound as though you really want suggestions at all; it seems as if you know exactly what you want out of your MOC and when many other people disagree, you just argue with them about why they are wrong. Since that is the case, I do not see why you don't just finish your MOC before posting at all, and skip the thin charade of wanting suggestions on your WIP. You cannot force people to agree with you, just as you cannot force people to tell you why they pick the poll options that they do. I can imagine that plenty of rational people would pick a worse option on the poll just because they have had enough of your criticisms and negativity. I can tell that you obviously have strong opinions about what an X-Wing MOC should look like (or a MOC of any other SW ship for that matter), but you are going about presenting those opinions in a terribly brutish fashion. I think the best way to show how you feel would be to complete a full working version of your MOC, post it, and then have a polite and courteous discussion about it. You also have to understand that many people do not share your view that a LEGO model has to perfectly accurate to the studio model, and many people probably do not want to hear you criticize details such as a certain angle being several degrees off. A lighter attitude would certainly be appreciated.
  4. I don't feel like it's skimping to just have Harry in a vest. It doesn't seem to me like this is only part of a figure, or something. Honestly, if they'd made the figure with full robes then it would've had different printing, which might've looked funny due to the fact that it would be a printed coat and then a cape. I like this vest that we are getting; it will have a wide range of uses.
  5. Yes, but… so what? The minifig is still accurate to the film costume, even if it's the costume from the later part of the scene. Stick some black arms and a cape on him, and there you go.
  6. Well, the very first mention of the Clone Wars in ANH had the word Clone in it, so what were you expecting? A war that didn't involve Clones? If you don't take any EU sources into account, there's nothing to say that Stormtroopers aren't Clones too. Although neither show makes the Clone Wars out to be the dark time that Obi-Wan mentions in ANH, I think it's supposed to be a dark time just because a war is ravaging the galaxy. Not because the actual fighters involved feel anything, but because the non-fighters are paying the price. That's what some of those boring senate episodes are about; too much money being spent on the war effort and not anything else. Additionally, the episodes involving Aayla (Jedi Crash) are good examples of a harmless people being devastated because they are caught in the middle of the war. So, if you think more broadly about it you can kind of see what Obi-Wan was talking about. As for the episode, it wasn't bad. Ahsoka is actually not whiny and annoying any more, which is a huge step in the right direction (and she's put on some more clothes). Some of the dialog was stupid as always, but overall it was a strong episode. I could distinguish Wolffe; he was the one with the skirt on and the really colorful jetpack. You also glimpse him a bit later with his helmet off when Plo is telling Anakin that it is time to go, although he is sort of in the background. What I don't understand (and this shows up continuously) is why they call Plo Koon "Master Plo." They call all of the other Jedi by their last names, so why not him? Does he have an Asian-style name with his first name second and his last name first?
  7. I guess I got that one right. It isn't the wedding costume, it's the Yule Ball outfit. Here's a film still; the designers got it spot on: I have no problem with this outfit. Like the SW book, I bet they were going for an outfit that would for sure never be made otherwise, and they did a very nice job with it.
  8. Do you mean end the series that way? Perhaps this is a misunderstanding due to different meanings of words in different countries; I just meant that they would not kill off Ahsoka in the current set of episodes, season 3. I am sure they will tie up her story line as well as the story line of Savage before the entire series is over, which will be a few years from now anyhow.
  9. I don't really understand what you're asking here. Are you saying that the prices on Bricklink are too high for you, so you'd like other options? If that is what you meant, there really isn't much you can do. Watch Ebay and try to get lucky, but beyond that the price is going to be high no matter where you go.
  10. Disappointed because the characters die sometimes, their favorite people lose the fight, etc. Not disappointed because the show sucks in the context of Star Wars. That's what I think he meant anyway. I highly doubt Ahsoka will die this season. There are two (three?) seasons already lined up for the future, so killing her off this early does not seem like something they would do. Give it a season or a season and a half.
  11. I'm sorry, advertising for yourself like this is not what the Community section is for, and we don't want it. I'm going to lock this up.
  12. It's great how in those little TV spots they animated the Clone Armor correctly, but in the game it's the EpII/EpIII armor with the CW helmet. Also, a few things in the longer trailer that are weird: Ventress has one red lightsaber and one blue lightsaber, and there's some little gnome guy with an Indy whip that's following Anakin in the Geonosis clips. Who is that supposed to be?
  13. It's similar, but not the same. The Marcus flint head looks a bit meaner, and has black eyebrows. The eyebrows on Neville are brown and thinner.
  14. Lance, why are you quoting that for the umpteenth time? WhiteFang even told everyone to drop it, and we've moved on. Let's discuss the new pictures please, or at least something related to the sets. Thanks.
  15. Well, even if these pictures come from LEGO there are a few things wrong with them, which makes me wonder how final everything shown really is. The most glaring thing wrong is the tile in the Knight Bus picture that has a string of numbers an "deko" written on it. Obviously, it's a stand in for the final printed piece, but the fact that it's there makes me think these pictures are less than final. There's also the problem of Harry having a Hogwarts uniform in the Knight Bus set, which doesn't make sense. Neville now looks different than he did at Toy Fair, and he looks quite stupid if you ask me. Goyle looks like an old man. Also, the globe in the Battle of Hogwarts set has some sort of astronomical printing instead of the map of the world as shown at Toy Fair. The first set of official pictures for the October wave of HP sets also had a whole bunch of mistakes, like Voldemort still wearing green and the green capes having white on the inside. I would not be surprised if certain things change from these pictures to the final sets as well; actually, I'm sure it will happen.
  16. He doesn't have early access - he just 'shopped the FBTB images. You have the same access!
  17. Ok ok, my bad. Consider as though it never happened. Personally, I love the 2003-2005 Clone Wars series. That one is George-authorized as well, and it's just so awesome. It has the feel of a typical Cartoon Network kid show (it was made by the same person as Samurai Jack and Dexter's Laboratory after all), but with all of the awesomeness of Star Wars. The characters feel as they do in the films, but just a bit cartoonized, unlike in the new CW show where the main characters are really all wrong. And there's the plus of no Ahsoka. When I first watched the old CW show, I thought it was quite stupid. Mace's Galen Marrik-type force abilities are ridiculous, but on the whole it is an accurate portrayal and, in a sense, timelapse of the war. The five-episode third season is especially very cool, and works brilliantly up to the opening moments of RotS. Even if you don't care for the novels (although Labyrinth of Evil is quite good), the old show does a wonderful job bridging the entire time from AotC to Rots. And it was just created as an advertisement! I really wish the new show was more like the old one. Every time I return to watching clips of the old one I am saddened by how good it was even though it was a ridiculously short advertisement.
  18. Hmm, I see how you could take it in that direction. I didn't think of the three topics in discussion being in discussion because of them being George Lucas' universe, but that makes a lot of sense. I will eradicate my mistake, and I suppose EU discussion can just go in the thread entitled Star Wars if anybody wants to talk about it. Leaving the poll option can't hurt, though.
  19. Numbers 1, 14, and 20 - one point each. Some great entries here!
  20. I vote for numbers 3, 13, and 30; one point each. There are really far too many wonderful entries in this contest! Everyone should be proud.
  21. Just so everybody can be represented and we keep the battle over which Star Wars is the best in this thread, I've added "EU" to the title and an EU poll option. So, who's going to fess up first that they prefer the EU to all six films and the CW show? C'mon now, don't be shy!
  22. I can see how sometimes that other discussion fits into this thread, but since the CW vs OT vs PT discussion is much more specific I'd rather keep them separate. That way, discussion of SW in general, the blu ray releases, merchandise, whatever can be kept in here, and the war over which SW is the best can be left over there. Maybe the other thread needs a "vs. EU" too, huh? Might as well…
  23. In all honesty, a Harry Potter in an exclusive outfit would make sense to me. They aren't going to put in a side character like Tonks or Sirius, no matter how much fans like those characters. The SW one got an exclusively outfitted Luke, so that makes sense for HP as well. Now, the question is which outfit? They've already done his Triwizard tournament outfit (albeit a while ago), so perhaps a Yule Ball/dress robes outfit? We'll just have to wait and see. Or, I could be completely wrong and that image is still a bit preliminary.
  24. I think Kit Fisto was there. I remember seeing a fourth Jedi in the command center when they were going over the plan, although he never talked. Or they just lent one of their Deltas to a really good Clone pilot since they needed more support and the ARCs were too big? I know everybody is saying "bring in the Etas," but the one downside to that might be if they messed with what Etas look like. Both in RotS and the old Clone Wars series, Etas are just basically single-color things without patterns. But then, I don't think that the Deltas had patterns either, besides for Anakin's awesome one in the old series. So what if they started splattering patterns over the Etas to make them more "exciting?" That would really be annoying.
  25. Well, since Obi-Wan and Anakin both appear in the Outbound Flight book, you never know…
