  1. We haven't seen the set he comes in yet, but we knew that he would exist since he was on the list of characters to be released.
  2. I was in a sports bar last night and I caught a new LSW ad. Turns out it's on youtube! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PhSXm5Fjy-o&feature=player_embedded
  3. I think it's hard to make out because of the pic, but the mutilated side does look puprly to me. Just not as different from one side to the other as the old one.
  4. I am away from my LEGO collection for the time being, so it is impossible for me to do so, unfortunately. I may be able to make some new ones eventually. I find yours to be of a higher caliber anyway Oky. Your presentation is certainly the best!
  5. Ugh, they are making Krell worse and worse for no reason. Even a Jedi who is full of himself and doesn't care about Clones isn't going to punch them out of the way. There is just no reason for it.
  6. I didn't say it wasn't still 2011. I consider pieces that have been out for several waves of sets not new, at least it's not new as in 'new in this wave.' The internet moves so fast, things that came out last week aren't new any more, so in terms of this I would say nine or ten months old is certainly not new. This really doesn't have anything to do with Star Wars any more, though, so perhaps it's time to stop discussing it. I am wondering something: why have we got pricing info for most of the sets, but not for Jedi Starfighter or Y-Wing? I've tried searching and I can't find such info for any region on the internet.
  7. You've captured a certain sect of Jews well; specifically, Hasidim. There are not a whole lot of communities that dress in this style any more, but there are a few in New York, Israel, and a few other locations. Really just leaving him as a Rabbi figure is fine. The comment about Israel could inflame political sensitivities that you just don't want to do, and I don't see the relevance. Hopefully nobody would go there, but I've seen it happen before. Also, you seem to connote in your post that all Jews dress in this style, so you may want to specify. The figure clearly has a Jewish style, but it hasn't been widespread for a long time. Most typical Orthodox Jews, as I am one, either dress in completely regular clothes or in a normal suit on a day-to-day basis. Again, I like the figure very much. I just wanted to point this stuff out in case somebody else takes offense, as I have seen happen before on a Jewish MOC that I made for a raffle one time.
  8. I'm not sure people actually get bent out of shape over them, but they are very easy to make fun of because of their 'special' style. I for one love the Clone Wars figures, but that didn't stop me from jabbing at them (back when I made comics…).
  9. I don't have a problem with it being true, but where is the confirmation? Besides for there being a LEGO logo on a poster, there has been no announcement of it that I have seen.
  10. There weren't really TDK sets. I'm assuming you mean The Tumbler, but since it came with the cartoon-style Joker and an Ice Cream truck it wasn't really a TDK tie-in. The Batpod set could also be argued as a semi-tie-in, but like the Tumbler the set as a whole was not. I still do not think that there is necessarily confirmation for full TDKR sets. Like some people have suggested, there may just be Batman comic sets released at the same time, and not sets based directly on the movie. I would be surprised if we get second versions of Bane and Catwoman for the movie, but you never know. It does happen in Star Wars with Clone Wars and non Clone Wars.
  11. This is stunning! And I thought Moodland Scale couldn't get any better. I hope you've got some more vehicles in the works!
  12. It was this exact piece, in light bluish grey. Though it is used heavily in Atlantis, it is used in plenty of other themes too. It's been in Alien Conquest, Spongebob, PotC, Ninjago, Harry Potter, and even some City. It's been around, but it's still a new-ish piece so it's not a total surprise that someone might not be familiar with it.
  13. You mean this? No, it's not new. It's been around for most of 2011, often used to make a column but also as some other things.
  14. There is a new Star Wars show coming, apparently a comedy collaboration with Seth Green since Lucas was impressed by the Robot Chicken stuff. It is possible there will be sets based on this show, depending on the real content of it.
  15. 'had a nitty fit' - Hooray my first title! Got it 'cause I'm angry. All. The. Time. Or maybe it is because in the past, no nitty fits were necessary, but now I'm raging.
  16. You may be correct about no sets based on TDKR, but I'm not sure what you mean by the 'two different levels' of DC and Marvel. I believe both DC and Marvel will be in the LEGO Super Heroes video game, and the Marvel sets are not exclusively based on the Avengers film or Marvel Universe films. As we know, there will be a few X-Men and Spiderman sets that are based on the comic iterations of those characters, not the film ones (despite there being a new Spiderman film).
  17. That is ridiculously incredible. I too did a doubletake when I saw the first image; that is one fine optical illusion.
  18. These are great. That Harry hair works really well for a Goblet of Fire Harry, and the Goblin hair looks neat too. The hood is actually my least favorite. Perhaps it is because it doesn't seem to me to match any real LEGO colors, or that it is much less shiny than the other two and so looks a little unfinished. I'm not sure. By the way, I have been wondering something about the Heroica helmet, since it does seem too large: does it fit regular minifigures? If not, that is a bit of a failure on LEGO's part for creating a microfig-specific headgear that doesn't work on microfigs.
  19. It's not Lando's head. Look carefully; it's the standard mustache head, customized to be brown. He says on the About page that he customized four heads; Yoda and the Emperor are two of the other ones, and Jabba may be the fourth.
  20. What is this madness?!?!?
  21. The subtitle is a reference to the title of Dr. Strangelove. It's just a joke. Good points have been brought up for and against SNOT. Personally, since it's a technique, I feel it can be used whenever necessary, but it isn't essential.
  22. Everything about this is great! I especially like the microfigs; that's a fantastic NPU if I ever saw one. I also like the bit of white, even though at first it doesn't seem to fit. It is a bit glaring at first, but I think it works to show that either the rest of the ship has just gotten really dirty or the guns were from something else and tacked on. How did you intend it?
  23. That's totally awesome. Thanks fallenangel for bringing this up and willybob for the link!
  24. Yes, but doesn't Yoda say in Episode I, which is the highest level canon, that there are only ever two? (Just like Artanis quoted). So the Rule of Two wasn't invented in 2006, that's just when Darth Bane's creation of it was fleshed out. I do agree that it isn't being retconned, though. I read in one movie-tied publication or another something about Sidious not being happy with all of the people Dooku was training to somewhat use the force, like Ventress, Grevious, and now Savage I suppose. So it isn't like the Rule of Two couldn't technically be broken if someone didn't adhere to it, but Sidious clearly does, or else he would've kept Dooku around and still trained Anakin.
  25. Nicely done. My one piece of advice for the main shot would be to not show the edge of the plates at the front. That way, it will create the illusion that the floor keeps going behind where the camera is. Still, good job.
