Yeah, I don't think we really want people self-promoting in this way. Additionally, since this thread is so old, I'm going to close it so nobody accidentally starts a conversation with some of the posts from 2008, as often happens when old threads are dug up.

LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors
Clone OPatra replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Actually, with another look over these pictures I've noticed that it might confirm something I've been wondering: that Barriss will be a new figure. Since she has a "new" symbol next to her on the box pic, that means we'll be getting a CW version of Barriss. I never understood why LEGO made an EpIII Swamp Speeder anyway, but whatever. The odd thing is that Obi-Wan on the interceptor doesn't have a 'new' symbol, but also R2 is backwards or blank or something so that packaging is clearly under construction. -
LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors

Those have to be one of the most ridiculously preliminary sets of pictures I can remember. They have exactly 0% new figures, even preliminary new figures! Really I hope people won't get too overjoyed or bent out of shape about the sets from these pictures, because they are clearly far from complete. There's not much to say based on these really, but it's nice to see them. At least it 100% confirms everything, not that I didn't believe it already. Now I'm looking forward to what all the new figures will actually look like -

I think you got confused with the new X-Wing, since what fallen is talking about is the new Jedi Interceptor.I agree with fallen that the Interceptor is probably not much bigger. It may contain more pieces, since that's how LEGO seems to go with detailing and such, but it can't be too huge. The Mustafar droid could also be a lot of pieces, perhaps. And of course, there don't have to be a lot more pieces or an increase in size to warrant certain amounts of price increases. It all depends. -
No, and I have nothing against it. I was just commenting. (I do find the SW ones to be weird) These are all good sets containing characters that have many interactions.

Clone Commander Trauma Figure
Clone OPatra replied to (Dutch)'s topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
(Dutch), this custom is superb! The details on this guy look like they've come straight out of the LEGO factory. This had to go on the EB Star Wars blog: -
That super pack almost made sense and then failed (just like most of the SW ones). Having Guido and Luigi with the rest of the Cars 1 characters makes good sense, but Finn and Z. don't really. Still, I guess this is the only combination of three sets that results in no overlapping.

I don't actually have any City sets myself, but I'm not sure it would fit entirely. The main problem would be the color scheme, since this set has significantly darker tones than those used in most City sets. Still, since it is just a ramshackle house, it could work.

Ok guys. People are entitled to their own opinions. Nobody has the right to define what a fan of anything is or isn't, so let's not go there. This thread if for discussing Star Wars. That includes being pissed by nonsensical changes on BluRay. That's the hot topic at the moment anyway. Stop the flaming.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Season 4 Discussion
Clone OPatra replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in Culture & Multimedia
I didn't say anything about them not messing up EU stuff. What I said was that they are at least leaving one thing alone (Delta Squad). I would think people should be thankful about that. Obviously they have messed with plenty of other things, and obviously they don't care (Filoni said so explicitly about Piell). But for once they decided not to with the Commandos. Just because they don't care most of the time, Filoni is still aware that he is messing things up. Isn't it good of him to decide not to for once? -
Lego Spongebob Squarepants 2011 Discussion Thread

I believe what he means is that there are no Chinese element factories for regular-line sets. Only for extended line products such as the collectible minifigures or magnet sets and the like. Although, some accessories that debuted in the collectible minifigures are now in regular sets, but it's possible that they remolded the elements in one of the regular molding factories (still, this raises some doubt). It's absolutely not proven, though, that the elements that come in the separate baggies are from a Chinese factory, since there has been at least one set with those baggies that did not list China as a place of manufacturing. What does that amount to? Not much. It's still totally possible for the captain to have the genie leg element. -
To me it's just humorous. It's clear from the prequels that Lucas on his own is not an overly talented guy, and it was clearly the actual screenwriters and other collaborators keeping him in check on the OT that made them what they are. He probably holds a silent grudge that is part of why he feels like putting his own stamp on the OT all the time. He's also just overly obsessed with technology. But anyway, it's funny that so many versions of these movies now exist. I don't think that has ever happened before on this scale (except maybe Alexander; I swear there are like six cuts of that film out there and it still sucks). So we can complain. Great. That's why I bought the DVD versions with the laserdisc rips. They are a little grainy and unenhanced, yes, but I don't have any problems with that. They look perfectly good on an older TV or any computer screen, which is what I have anyway. And I can always watch the newer versions too. If Lucas went back and CGed out every single ship that was a model shot and replaced it with CG, that would be major. Adding sound for no reason? Fine, whatever. I still find the huge hanger that Han and Chewie run into when chasing Stormies in EpIV much more annoying.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Season 4 Discussion
Clone OPatra replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in Culture & Multimedia
If they had included Delta Squad in a big way everybody would've cried foul because they 'messed up Delta Squad' or something. Honestly, the way they did it was very smart and very cool. Fans who knew what they were got to see Delta Squad in a small way that couldn't possibly mess them up. I hate Mortis too, but working with Rex or any other clones that the show writers make up is a smart move. Those Clone episodes are always cool, and they in no way mess up things that have been previously done in the EU. -
The copy being reviewed is in fact the Legends re-release; ZO6 says so in the review Very lovely review! I have the other set with a tepee (Chief's Tepee, or something like that), and I know what you mean about the greatness of the material. About this whole set, though, I think I would differ in opinion. Not just from an AFOL perspective, but even as a kid I don't think I would find this set terribly exciting. It looks very plain (as I guess the Great West should) for one and the rock structures look somewhat ugly. The minifigures are highly detailed, but I always found the faces to also be ugly and creepy with those incongruous noses. Perhaps it's just because I was never much into the Indians side of Cowboys and Indians, but the content of this set doesn't thrill me at all. Compared to some of the Islanders stuff that also makes use of BURPs and LURPs and lookouts and the like, the set seems ugly and poor. I felt the same way about the one of these that I do have (plus a small one as well).

Lego Spongebob Squarepants 2011 Discussion Thread
Clone OPatra replied to buddy's topic in LEGO Licensed
It's pretty awesome that we're getting a Flying Dutchman, but at only 28 Euros which means about 30 dollars, I can't see it turning out to be all that impressive. The trademark of the Spongebob theme seems to be ideas that sound really cool but are then turned into fairly average sets, often with a few large pieces. I'm not trying to be a total party-pooper here, but there's no way that 30 dollars can translate into a large, amazing ship. It still could be well done and look very neat, and I'm sure the minifigures will be awesome no matter what. I also can't imagine what the Party set will be like. At about 60 dollars (I'm guessing) that will be the largest Spongebob set ever. If it does come with the Pineapple again, I hope it's more fully formed than the two similar facade ones we've gotten before. I would suspect that it will also come with one or two new figures, but I can't really think of who. It would be great to get a new Mr. Krabbs and his daughter, but that's just a wild dream. -
Alright, settle down everybody. Let's not bring bad attitudes into this, or name calling. That's all bad form. I'm going to merge this into the existing Star Wars thread, and I hope certain people can calm down.
-
Alright, you can do that Penguin. I've retitled (and subtitled) this thread to be about Batman films in general, since that's where the conversation was going anyway. So continue everybody!

What mobile Apps are you on?
Clone OPatra replied to Jedi master Brick's topic in Culture & Multimedia
I've retitled this thread slightly for clarity. However, DarthSion is right that 'app' is a very broad term, and one can download an app for browsing facebook, looking up movie times, reading a newspaper, etc. Did you really want to know which of these people used, or specifically which games? I'm not exactly sure how much wholesome conversation this will spawn, but we'll see. On my iPad (not a fad, just an extremely expensive toy), I frequently play Angry Birds and Robot Unicorn Attack. I also played Lego HP Years 1-4, but now that I'm at 100 % I don't know what to do with it anymore. It was fun while it lasted. -
I agree with you, but at the same time Johnny Thunder was clearly LEGO's answer for Indy fans before they ever thought they would make Indy sets. When are AFOLs ever satisfied with anything?

LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors
Clone OPatra replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I think if somebody knew that type of detail, they would've shared it already. Nobody has to have actually seen pictures for us to know a list, and especially nobody on EB. Somebody somewhere in the world could get the info, and that's how it got all over the internet. As to your second point, I highly doubt that trends can be predicted based on two sets. You could just as easily say that LEGO releases new Republic Gunships every six years, because one came out in 2002 and another in 2008. You just can't jump to that sort of conclusion. Besides, why don't you count the Republic Cruiser in 2007, the System Tantive, and the recent Republic Frigate? I'm sure we would all love another capital ship, but there is no rumor of it and no evidence to go by. -
Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
Clone OPatra replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I don't think there is anyway to know. I've seen reviews of the most recent Clone battlepack where some of the heads are one way and others are the other way. There is no way of tracking it. -
Hmm, well, perhaps it would be fitting to just turn this one into a discussion of Nolan's (or all?) Batman films with rumors and news about the new one. What does anybody think of that idea?
-
Not that I know of. A search might turn one up, though.
-
You know, I didn't say it in the review, but I completely agree with you. I like getting that piece at all, but dark grey certainly would've fit with the rest of the jetpack, and with the blue color itself, much better.
