  1. It's amazing these are still going around on blogs. Here is the EB thread from over a year ago. I can't find any confirmation that they are created digitally, but I believe they are especially because of the biker's hand, which must be 'shopped due to its angle.
  2. It's not. It's a new torso design that is used for both the regular stormie in the battlepack and the Sandtroopers in the Escape Pod set, but in the Escape Pod set it has extra dirt/sand printing.
  3. I believe the two green bulbs are not extra pieces. They are extra kryptonite power that go under the glass domes in the back. Somebody already said that. I guess it pays to not just skim the comments! Anyhow, great review Hinckley! I know all signs point to getting this set, but I'm still unsure. It has a great amount of parts for the price and good figures as you said, but I've never found mechs all that easy to really fool around with, especially the bigger ones. Maybe it's just my own problem. Still, I might end up picking this one up.
  4. I'm a little creeped out about how far back Anakin can turn his head. The Force must be strong with that one.
  5. Just to make it clear, the factory in question is only where LEGO's licensed DK books are being made (the visual dictionaries, etc.). It is unrelated to the factory in China where actual LEGO toys are manufactured. I'm not saying that it makes any difference to the information, but I thought it was worth pointing out (lest some people try to start a rant about poor quality of Chinese parts and connect it to this).
  6. The review of Slavers of the Republic is now up.
  7. If you look at grogall's high-res picture, it's clear that the Sandtroopers do have sand printing on their actual legs.
  8. I don't think so. Only the first two were a Studios sets, and only the first one had a 'director' or anything like that. Once they released more sets in 2003, they weren't Studios at all, nor did they say 'Studios' on the packaging. The Spider-Man 2 sets were also clearly not Studios sets. There really were Spider-Man sets.
  9. We discussed this a little while ago. It is most likely that there will be a TDKR wave, but there's no 'official' confirmation.
  10. fallenangel, I'm sorry, but what are you talking about? I look over Darth Nihilus' posts and they seem consistent to me. You make it sound like he directly contradicted himself, but I don't even see a contradiction in the slightest. It seems plain that he would like Oola, doesn't think LEGO sets usually have obscure characters, and doesn't really want any of the band members. What is the problem?
  11. If I may make a prediction, what happens right after the scene in that trailer is Anakin pulling out his lightsaber and blowing cover after about five seconds, making showing up in costume at all pretty useless.
  12. While I'm still skeptical about there actually being LotR LEGO, this kind of argument holds no weight at all. What of Indiana Jones? This had just one new movie planned (I know there may be more in the works), and the original three were much longer ago than the LotR trilogy, yet LEGO got this license and made several waves of sets, so it must have been a semi-successful line. Toy Story also works as an example, with the original two films being a while ago and only one new one.For LotR, which will get two Hobbit films and has three more films to work from, there is no reason why this would be a line from 'dusty old movies.' Those films did not even come out very long ago.
  13. What were the Clones supposed to do, just let him go? After he had played all of them, I should think that they would be angry and want to catch him immediately. The only other option would be to radio in about him or something, which doesn't seem all that feasible.
  14. Brickdoctor and I said this exactly.I think really our ratings were a little higher for this episode because it was better than the last two, at least to me. Whereas the last two episodes felt like they were stagnating, this one had things happen and had some character development, leading me to give it a higher grade.
  15. While that makes sense, it isn't kept consistent in the show. Take for example Luminara's Clones, who are led by Commander Gree, and yet Luminara has a Padawan, Barriss.
  16. I personally think so, but you've proven that LDD can be used to make great work as well. I wouldn't worry about it.
  17. You could say that about absolutely any set. 'The $120 Republic Gunship would sell more if it was only $100.' But I think this is just going in a price rant direction. I think it's hard to call exactly what color the commando droids will be. In the official boxart, they are clearly a darker color. The 'set laid out' pictures tend to have more faults than the other ones; in the Harry Potter sets, for example, the 'set laid out on white' pictures on the LEGO Store website had preliminary figures. So I wouldn't assume that the droids will actually be that brown.
  18. This is an excellent piece of work! I love how you have captured the curves of it.
  19. I don't agree that they are about BP size. Both of those sets have far more substantial constructions than we ever see in a BP, and we know for a fact that the Droid Escape has 137 pieces, whereas BPs have under 100. Given the pricing information that we have, the price difference between these BPs and the Droid Escape and Geonosian Cannon exactly matches the relative sizes of the sets.
  20. I've been wondering about this myself. Fives is an ARC trooper, so he doesn't fit into the 501st, I don't think. But then it is unclear if Rex outranks him, or what. Obviously Krell outranks Fives, but it's unclear to me how he fits into the Clone command structure. Also, this might've been brought up before, but why is there no current commander for the 501st? Why is Rex just a Captain?
  21. Yes, with Grogall's high res pics it seems clear that Batman doesn't have a cape in that set, which is really a shame. Maybe it's just that the packaging doesn't show it, but I feel that since Bats is pictures without a cape in the 1:1 picture on the top of the box, it won't be included. I don't see why LEGO would not include the cape in addition to the wings; it doesn't seem very fair. The wings are nice and all, but Bats should always have his cape.
  22. Isn't it a tad strange that Batman and Superman have the exact same face (just a with a white stripe on Batman's)? There's nothing really wrong with it, but it struck me as a bit odd, just as I find LEGO double-using the heads of Tamina and Hermione for Leia and Padme. Since these characters are just based on comic renditions, which do change, it isn't too bad, but still interesting.
  23. I accidentally didn't post when I blogged this, but just so you know your T-47 is… I like how you have designed a version of this ship that is unique, even if not completely 'accurate.'
  24. Well, there's a rumor of an Old Republic Starfighter for this coming summer, so that might be KOTOR-era. It probably ties into the Old Republic game; I'm don't know too much about the different timelines. I don't think LEGO will ever release a large amount of EU sets, or even more than one at a time, but they have been constantly making them at a slow trickle. It's unreasonable to hope that LEGO will start producing more sets based on material that is just not as well known as the films and CW show, but you can expect some new EU sets every once and a while.
  25. What do you mean by the Star Wars Universe? Are you asking if LEGO Star Wars should expand to have some KOTOR sets? As I see it, the KOTOR is already in the Star Wars Universe.
