  1. "I know what you mean Ms. Hightribe, I too worry that we may actually be biting the hand that will feed us at some point later. We shall just have to trust his word, let us be off."
  2. While this is a thoroughly enlightening conversation, I do have a less serious question. During combat, because the Berserker is only able to target one enemy until they are defeated, does this mean they may not use an item during said "Berserker" rage? This was kind of my thinking when holding onto a certain item during my present quest since Tensi the Berserker may not be able to use it when we it.
  3. "We'll take ya up on yer offer my good fella 1 for every 4 we eliminate. I've been through plenty of ambushes in my life, and things rarely go accordin' to plan. If everyone is ready, let us head off. Hans will ya be accompanyin' us, the more the merrier as they always say." Skrall picks up the Pheonix Smoke and tosses his own Pheonix Essence over to Hoke Ablesword. "Hold on to this fer me if ya wouldn't mind young chap."
  4. I think he meant personality characteristics or other things beside appearance, oh great creator of the Mopagians:wink:
  5. "Well if Vonnetate is willing to give us an 3 troops for every six we dismember of the enemy, then let us be off to stop that caravan." Skrall pops the lid to a jar of smelling salts and consumes the contents. Grimacing at the taste he remarks, "I vote that either Tensi, Hoke, or myself should carry the smoke contraption as we are the ones most likely to last the longest in a drawn out battle, though should Tensi carry it, I would request that she give one of her 2 Phoenix Essences to the Mr. Ablesword for the time being, in the event it becomes necessary to revive her and I am also put out of commission."
  6. My guess is a Harry Potter set knowing Sandy, as to Mopagians, you can look at Brick Doctor's quest Taming the Lions, the Library thread has a link to it. They really aren't to different, except they're kind of ostracized by other humans in general, other than there is not much difference. You could say they're somewhere between orcs and humans on the totem pole of races represented.
  7. Skrall inclines his head toward the Pongcanis leader, "You are not alone my friend, my people have always been at odds with the higher races due to our propensity fer violence and passion, but I have found that they are not all evil and some even see us as equals. Perhaps with yer aid, you and yer people will gain the trust and admiration of those who consider ya the lesser beats. We will gladly accept this side mission, but I have one question fer you before I confer with my companions. You say this troop is large that we are to attack, but if I may be so bold, who exactly are we to be raiding? Are they allies of this corrupt government or be they simply an outlying faction that swears allegiance to no one?" Turning to his companions, Skrall inquires of Hans "What think you chap, do we have enough time fer this detour?"
  8. Skrall awoke, he had listened intently to the two gentlemen who seemed to be good friends with Jess. "Hmm... I'll have to ask her later." he had thought to himself. After that he had layed down for some sleep and had been awaken by the incessant Haldor, singing the praises of his elven love. Skrall banished the last remaining fragments of his dream, that voice so familiar but why? He picked up his satchel and addressed the party, "Haldor I can understand yer wantin' to dote upon every whim of yer beloved, but we're here to take out this Gwen or whatever her name is, not go shoppin'. Hans, right, we'll accompany one you to meet with one of these rebel groups. Mr. Ablesword, I think we'll be needin' some fine speeches from ya pretty soon here and if that don't work we'll let Ms. Hightribe intill some fear into 'em with that menacin' blade of hers." OOC: Sorry all, I had planned on us starting up today instead of yesterday and had already made RL plans, Skrall is all good to go now.
  9. Skrall walks into the hall, he had glanced at his name under the chosen members for quest 11. He had seen that Dyric would again accompany them as well as the Nord Haldor, whom he had gotten to know in the sewers of Eubric. "Good," Skrall thought to himself, "a cleric is always a helpful addition to any party, let's hope this one isn't too distracted." Skrall knew Jess second hand from Haldor's descriptions and praises, but he had yet to formally meet the barbarian Tensi or this Hoke Ablesword individual. Skrall takes a seat near no one in particular and lights his ram horn pipe while he waits for the party to assemble
  10. Skrall strode through the stalls of the marketplace stopping at Anwyl's shop. "My good sir, I'm in need of outfitting this weapon for some more sportly beasts, if ya would please tighten up that bow string I'd be most appreciative. Don't worry about setting it too high, I shouldn't have any trouble." Skrall hands over his Hunter's Crossbow to upgrade from level 6 to level 9 (273-70-80-90= 33 left). "I'd also like to sell this Gear, I don't think I'll be in need of it." Skrall sells the Gear (33+10=43). Heading over to Portia's Potion stall, Skrall purchases a Lightning Bomb, a Water Bomb, 2 Potions, and another bottle of Smelling Salts (43-5-5-5-5-20= 3 left). Slipping the items into his satchel and stopping by Anwyl's to pick up his crossbow, Skrall headed for the Hall in preparation for his next quest.
  11. My only suggestion may be to have the confused hero take damage equal to another heroes level instead of power, otherwise the way you calculated it looks good.
  12. I have a question and I have asked this before, but looking back on it, I phrased it incorrectly, so I'll have another go at it. I have the Hunter's Crossbow which currently is WP:6 (+4 against beasts) now if I upgrade the weapon by 1 level does it become WP:7 (+4 against beasts) or WP:7 (+5 against beasts)? My reasoning is if the weapon was made to be effective against beasts then at higher WP levels this advantage will be eclipsed by the weapons normal power if the former is true, i.e. WP:20 (+4 against beasts) with which there is not much of an advantage compared to WP:20 (+18 against beasts). Maybe I'm making it too complicated, but I wanted to get it straight before I upgrade for the next round of quests.
  13. Woops I meant "you" in the plural to refer to looking forward to playing with all those who passed, but that doesn't mean I don't enjoy playing in games with you (singular), def, also. I'll stop now before I confuse anyone else I am curious as to the inclusion of the hint i.e. the puzzle pieces. What was your reasoning in including them?
  14. Good game to all the players, it was really fun to watch from the sidelines, as always rooting for the town. That last day when it looked like the town might lynch the real doctor, I was shouting at the computer "No, no, no don't do that!" Well played, Chromeknight, you did a very good job in blending in those first few days and acting like a townie, your day posts were good, but as time went on it did surprise me that the scum hadn't taken you out, but we all now know why that was. Nicely played sir Def, it was a pleasure watching you work your mafia hosting magic, great story, characters, and setup. I hope to see some of you in the next few games.
  15. My, my, things are really going to get interesting now. While I'm glad we have the choice to flip flop between advanced classes, I'm hoping people will eventually settle down into a specific role, instead of switching every quest just to give them more of an edge for a specific quest but I guess that's more of a personal role playing preference. I mean, an Ogre Assassin doesn't really make sense, not that an ogre bowman does either I agree with swils and that at the higher levels health really doesn't become an issue when distinguishing between classes but in order to keep the game simple it may be a necessity. I can say that I am glad that the rolls for battle became a lot more complex instead of the basic critical hit, hit, miss, damage, and special damage, the black knight, witch, hunter, assassin, berserker, and raider look most intriguing from that aspect. QMing is certainly going to become a bit more challenging that's for sure, maybe I will stick to newbies Great job Sandy, I can see that this took a lot of effort and was definitely not done in a half-hearted manner.
  16. If this gentlemen is dead than I expect his lies died with him, Dextrus Flagg himself was is a freed slave and has on a few occasions expressed his disapproval of the whole trade altogether. We are sorry to see you leave and hope that your pusuits with our western neighbors proves fruitful. Kaliphlin will always have enough open space should you ever wish to return.
  17. "My, my, sounds more gruesome than I first heard. I thought you were all just paddlin' a few young hoodlums that were vandalizin' the place. I guess I'll have to pop round there one of these days. So who do ya think is goin' to give out first. I've got 5 gold on old Althior there at the moment, he may not be able to ever land a hit on an enemy, but he can sure pack 'em away. He's almost as good at drinkin' as he is at diggin' for buried treasure."
  18. Great job on the builds thus far all NiceMarmont your maps grow ever more inspiring. Now that I have finally attained a further selection of building materials the watch tower in the eastern mountain ranges is nearing completion. Minifigs not included in this photo but they have been build and I will be using a different photo setup, if any of you have any more suggestions I'd appreciate them. Thanks.
  19. Skrall had shifted out of the way as an inebriated Tarn sunk into a seat next to him. As he did so, Skrall glanced at the approaching Barbarian sizing him up. He noted the large sword that he carried on his back, "Must be that fabled meteor chopper, Nur and company brought back from that haunted school" he thought to himself. Skrall addressed the barbarian carrying the turkey, "I think it's just the two of those oaf's over yonder. They're makin' enough noise for a party 8 times there size. Let me think back, Art wasn't it or somethin' like that? You were on that quest with me friend Nur the geomancer weren't ya? How did ya fancy yer first quest?"
  20. Skrall shifted in his seat, he had dozed off for quite a while and now found that the hall had emptied quite a bit. He decided to stretch his legs and took a short walk around the hall, stopping by the quest board to glance at the new advertisements. Right after close spaces, water was another of Skrall's phobias and thus he despised any quest that would involve any sea travel. Skrall glanced at the last posting, starting a riot seemed more up his elder political nut-case brothers' alley, besides they wasn't even a reward posted. It was true that his last quest had paid him quite nicely, but couldn't he at least have a chance to spend a little money on himself, besides he still had child support to send back home and taking on a charitable quest would definitely not excuse the monthly deduction from his purse. On the other hand, Skrall thought back to the many times he had witnessed oppression of the green skinned kind in his younger days, true the humans had been the cause behind it, but suffering was suffering and cruelty was evil no matter what shade of skin it came from. Maybe he was still living in the past, maybe this was a cause worth fighting for. Maybe there was more to life than child support, free ale, and living for the moment. "Sheesh," Skrall thought to himself, "I'm startin' to sound like one of my philosiphyin' sisters." Skrall shrugged, took up a nearby pen and wrote his name underneath Quest #19: Let's Start a Riot. With that Skrall walked back up the stairs and seated himself a short distance away from the growing mountain of tankards, mugs, goblets, flasks, and flagons that veiled Atramor and Althior from his sight.
  21. "Well there Althior, you back up to full health again? Hey, I've been meanin' to ask you, what's it take to trap ones senses in a bottle?"
  22. My intention was simply to inspire my lord, as I know that I personally can fall into periods where the mind and imagination runs as dry as the surrounding desert.
  23. My dear guild members, as I am sure you are all busy constructing your watch towers, I though I would offer up a list of ideas for further mocs for developing our lands, similar to our neighbors in the West. Bubblin' Crude, Black Gold, Kaliphlin Tea: Black Oil is a main export of Kaliphlin, build an ingenious method of how it is collected, processed, and/or transported. Farmin' in the Withered Woods: While Kaliphlin might not possess the blessings of heavily timbered areas or plots of bountiful soil like Avalonia, the space to the west does afford opportunity to the entrepreneurial individual, build a farm or some other means of acquiring sustenance in the far western boarders of our guild. Off to Market: The oil road is a treacherous length of path stretching from Barqa to Qarkyr along it travel some of our most valuable assets to the foreign trade centers of the world, build a caravan of some sorts bearing goods to enrich the inhabitants of our industrious guild. Ye Old Oasis: Sprinkled throughout the parched lands of the central Siccus Badlands, oases of varying sizes flourish and provide travelers of both good and evil intent a chance to refresh their weary bones, drink of the clean sparkling water, and recover their strength. It's also a good place for a bandit group to lay an ambush, build a refreshing oasis for any individual who might stop by. Here there be Dragons: We've seen griffins and oliphants, but one can only wonder at the creatures and beasts that hunt and live among the sand dunes of the Siccus Badlands, build a fearsome beast or some other fantastical beatie that may inhabit the desert sands. Like I said these are just ideas, should your imagination juices be running low.
  24. While I can not speak for Sirens, I have always loved the yellow and green of Mitgardia, they serve as a great contrast to the stark white of the snow. Avalonia is a combination of the dark green and the sand green which is fitting of their noble, established, and deeply timbered lands. Mitgardia is a land for the settler, the pioneer, the adventurer and the bold yellow and green flag, that simple yet steadfast standard flies boldly from the towers on the mountain peaks and within the hallowed halls of the Dwarven nobility representing not only simplicity but fortitude. Also, not all of Mitgardia is covered in snow and thus the blue and white while may be suited for the snow covered valleys of the far north, may not go with the forested areas in the south. Just the humble opinion of a southerner.
  25. Yes, I am well, glad to have a roof over my head and a tankard of ale in my hand. That mage Althior was a handful, but I'm glad we had him along, his compass proved useful more than once. Tell me, I've not seen another of your kind since I've come here, do you miss your kin folk?"
