"Imperial Pikes A move North, Pikes B give those Rebel Crossbows A a good pokin' with yer spears. Lion Knights A full assult on those group of Rebel Pikemen A just north of ya. Lion Crossbows A, give that group of Rebel Pikemen A hidin' in that forrest a good volley. Alright Mr. Chevalier, Ms. Toboso listen carefully, first have those Knights B and Pikes A attack the group of Rogue Pikemen directly in front of them. Have Archer Squad B fire off a volly at Sir Laurent, while Crossbows C attack the Rogue Knights A. Imperial Troops C give the Rogue Crossbows in front of the what fer, while Imperial Pike division D moves North to join them. Last but not least we play a three way shuffle, Knights D attack rogue knights A before moving into the forest, Lion Pikemen B then pull back south east while Knights C hold their ground. Any questions?" Skrall drew the greatsword and joined in with the Imperial Pikes as they charged the group of rebel archers. Battle Order: Will be give once other actions have been delivered -

"Oh dear Bluehood, I did truly believe we were going to change the world for the better but it would appear that it was not to be so. I thank you for doing what you thought best sir knight and I know I can always trust that Heroica's intentions are always honorable. I'll try and salvage what I can from the wreckage, but it looks like it will have to take its place next to the old Microfigunater 7267. In the meantime, I was instructed by Sir Festivus who organized the original expo to make sure you received your payment, 1250 Gold altogether. I'll let you divvy that up however you folks wish. I'm sorry to have to leave you so soon but the wife back home doesn't know I'm out of my bed and would throw a fit that would make a Yeti run away in fright if she found out and I don't want her waking up Ameli and the children at this time of night. Thank you again for being here to support the project and for spending the time to help out the Town watch. I can't imagine what would have happened if it had been left up to those buffoons on their own." With that the gnome departed into the night, leaving the heroes to find their way back to the hall, in the company of eachother and their thoughts of all that happened in the past few days. QUEST 28 IS SUCCESSFUL! QM Note: Brickdoctor, go ahead and divide the gold once you reach the hall. Scorpiox I know Haldor is eager to hear more news of Ameli but I'll let Jeb add a post script to this quest if he wishes as I feel he would be better suited for such a task concerning Szalinski. The rest of you are free to make any final statements to Szalinski as he exits but the quest is now complete. Feel free to ensure your stats are correct in the post two prior to this one and leave any feedback you want in the QM Lounge, also make a note there if you're alright with me posting all of the Side Quests that your charcters were involved with. Thank you all for playing, it's been a blast being your QM these exactly 3 past months. -
Sorry folks I'm working the night shift in the engine room. First off I have to say that in my eyes Dakar A seems more like the possible scum, editing someone's post is a more definite scummy action than having a joking manner to me. That being said, the easiest solution would appear to be that Palathadric is the Godfather, even so, I think coming out on the first day with a play style that is screaming to be investigated is too forward of a tactic and not one that I think a team of scum would encourage their Godfather to do, but hey I've been wrong before. I would like to caution us however against the philosophy that an annoying townie is a useless townie and might as well be lynched, every townie is a 1 up we have on the scum and to think otherwise results in only the scum benefiting in the long run. That being said it seems like Palathadric's lynch will prove potentially helpful in discerning yesterday's voting pattern as compared to Dakar A. Thus I'm going to vote: Ensign Brian Pewter (Palathadric).

OoC: I'm assuming the battle order is meant to say Party Leader, or is it supposed to be second in command? Skrall grabbed William's helmet as the Imperial Pikeman happened suprisingly to be standing nearby. Skrall shouted out, "Master Chevalier, Ms. Toboso have yer Lion Pikemen pull back and draw that sodded Laurant off of that sodded hill! Alexandre have yer crossbows shoot a volley at the knave to keep him busy while the pikes pull back. Isabella I'd suggest ya have yer horses (Group D) stay put while Alexandre's Imperial Pikes take the hill North of them with yer crossbows following behind him. Knight groups B and C should hold their ground fer the time bein'." Skrall motioned for both of the Imperial Pike cohorts A and B under his command to move 1 hex North accompanyied by Lion Knight group A, as the Lion Crossbows A moved North East occupying the knights' former position. I must disagree that there is plenty of time to analyse what has been said and to say otherwise is to either have a lazy or defeatist attitude, remember no lunch during mafia! What has puzzled me is your own continuous stream of voting and unvoting not that I think it's scum worthy it just is extremely confusing, but I guess everyone has their own style. So here's what I've got so far, from my perspective. Commander Gordon (Scubacarrot): Townie, he's to mean to be a scum. Ensign Mandel (Dannylonglegs): Townie, I'm sorry but he's been going on for too long and his mistakes feel more like they were being pushed and poked at by possible scummies. Ensign Pewter (Pathaldric): Townie, Would you cut the jokes please, they're only making everyone more confused. Ensign Campbell (Dakar A): Townie, unless none of your scum team is telling you to stop your flip-flopping, your multiple votes and unvotes make no sense as a strategy. I really don't know where to cast my vote, but I do know lynching is one of the few ways we have of deducing this entire mystery. I'm just going to go with my gut feeling, vote: Donna Willis (KingoftheZempk). This entire statement is fluff and filler to me, especially that last part about how private communications may or may not be scummy but that we really don't know. Again more on the simulation being worthless, can we please move on. More filler of how we may or may not focus on the scum due to it but we again don't really know. Then this fluff about a hairy radio creature, could we have a little more seriousness. You just said lynching based on hair was in jest yet you go on to jest about an investigator for a hairy radio creature. When it comes down to it, I feel all of these posts have been filled with useless banter to appear active, at least when Lieutenant Hornby or Harper comment even though they don't appear active they tell us they are simply observing the behavior and are not spotting anything. Willis on the other hand doesn't say she doesn't find anything, no she merely reminds us that we must all be on the lookout and not become distracted.

OoC: I shouldn't have a Skeleton Decoy anymore, but apart from that I think everything is in order. "Ah Luke good to see you again." "As it is you Master Skrall, we've had quite a turn of events since you vanished, I hope all went well." "Apart from dealin' death to some demons and a resurrected Chimera it was pretty quiet. Now let's see if we can get everybody up and organized. I'm assuming Sir Leofard that we're to be dealin' with more Pogs and Teuthisal?" Skrall unpacked his dragon scale and consumed it feeling the warmth of the dragons blessing and luck flowing through him. -

Heroica RPG - Expert Job Class Discussion
Waterbrick Down replied to LEGOman273's topic in The Heroica Archive
I'm not completely sure how the expert classes will work, but it is my impression that they will have to be offered to a character in a quest, thus you can't switch as redily between expert classes, in essence there will not be a Training Room topic. Also I think the same could be said of the Alchemist as to what would stop people from becoming one just so they could stock up on consumables? As to the matter of Arcane Manifold, I've considered boosting the ether cost to 20, but that would mean an Artificer would probably only get to use the ability once before having to replenish on tonics. A Lucky die (one of the most powerful artifacts in the game) which is basically a permenant Nostrum (35 Gold) can be replicated for currently at the cost of a grand tonic (30 Gold), which isn't that bad. I'll consider nerfing it maybe, but I don't want to take away from some of the appeal of the class. -

So this is a little something UsernameMDM and I have been toying around with for a month or two. The class is more of a supportive role and is currently not associated with any faction existing or planned. Artificer Health Bonus: +3 Ether Bonus: +6 (+1 per level for classes without base ether) Weapons: Hammers, maces, staves, crossbows, Artificers may use Scrolls Job traits: Arcane Manifold - Artificers are keenly aware of the power of artifacts and may craft a 1-battle-use-only duplicate of any artifact carried by the Party at the cost of 15 Ether. Knowledgeable - Artificers can read and speak any (Humanoid) language and translate or decipher codes and symbols. Weapon's Expert - Artificers utilize their arcane skills to keep their weapons sharp and their equipment in peak condition and are thus able to sell weapons and shields at 75% their original price as opposed to 50% at the Market. Battle style: Empowering - Artifacers use their knowledge of arcane magic to infuse Party members weapons and armor with powerful abilities during a battle. 1. SHIELD: Arcane Enchantment: - The Artificer works a tremendous spell of empowering magic granting semi-sentience to the Party's weapons giving them the Lucky effect for the duration of the battle. 2. CRITICAL HIT/GREATER INFUSION: The Artificer attacks the target with strength equal to two times their weapon power added to their level. Alternatively the Artificer may spend 1 ether to imbue a Party member's weapon with an elemental attack, or make them invulnerable to an enemy type's attack, for 3 turns. 3. HIT/INFUSION: The Artificer attacks the target with strength equal to their weapon power added to their level. Alternatively the Artificer may spend 1 ether to imbue a Party member's weapon with an elemental attack, or make them invulnerable to an enemy type's attack, for 2 turns. 4. CRAFTSMANSHIP: The Artificer spends 3 ether to increase the WP or SP of the Party member by 1 for the remainder of the battle. 5. DAMAGE: The Artificer is struck by the opponent's attack. 6. SPECIAL DAMAGE: The Artificer is struck by the opponent’s special attack. Note Artificers like Clerics may target themselves. -
Um was that directed at me or at the rather odd stage performance that just took place?

I see someone is back with their "scum-tells". I find it quite interesting how quiet everybody was during the Commander Gordon fiasco when it came to backing up Ensign Mandel and now that the tables have turned, quite a few people are eagerly jumping on him. I've got to say that if Mandel was scum I would have expected more of his team mates to join in on attacking Commander Gordon and that clearly didn't happen. Honestly I feel like Mandel is not our best choice for lynching today (if he actually is scum, I'll think he'll probably be easier to catch in his web of deceit later on down the line), his defense is not striking me as scummy and I agree with Ensign Rockford that his words seemed to be being "twisted". I'd much rather hear about Pewter's joking spree in the mean time.

Remember that enemy type does not mean the same thing as elemental, i.e. a pheonix is a fiery monster, but it is not fire and wind elemental. Monster types (Holy for example) do not correlate to elemental types (Light), I understand what you want to do but I think you need to build a disadvantage into your class in another way, possibly make the class just weak against holy monsters and immune to demons. -

It should be noted that even if an enemy has an elemental imbued weapon, their attacks are not elementally based unless stated otherwise. In essence all enemy attacks are normal, thus it doesn't make sense that a class is weak to light elemental attacks. -

That is correct, Brickdoctor, for some reason I thought it was level-SP/2 for back row not Level/2 - SP. Results of Round 2 of Bluehood Brawl: >Bartholomew Docken vs. Garnet Jinn - Special Damage >En Sabah Nur vs. Ruby Jinn - Magnetic Mojo Magnetic Mojo Jess Islanti vs. Topaz Jinn - Aim (No Assassination) Lord Lawrence Boomingham vs. Aquamarine Jinn - Critical Hit Haldor Skovvgard vs. Topaz Jinn - Damage Belthazar Bluehood free hit vs. Bartholomew Docken The battle draws on as the Garnet Jinn withdraws into its lamp for more protection. If I may continue on this point, you claim there are differences in Commander Gordon's style yet you then go on to make a hypothesis that if we were still in the simulator Commander Gordon would have acted differently then he is now. You're entire conjecture is based upon an event that never took place, which to me is grasping for straws. You top this off by a non-commital "I think he's scum, but I don't want to say it" attitude which leaves a sour taste in my mouth. However I don't think any of this is actually damning and while Commander Gordon believes you to be a scum trying to lead a bandwagon against him, my reading is more of a townie who would rather not be accused of inactivity and is trying to follow up on someone elses accusation with a half-baked opinion of their own, this while not helpful is neither particularly scummy. The fact is, nothing in today's major discussion has tripped my scum readers which leads me to believe as is always the case on the first day, that the scum (or at least 1 or 2 of them) are flying under the radar. I remember full well how in the training simulator 2 of the scum barely said a single thing during the entire first day and no one called them out on it. That being said my FoS is pointed at Lieutenant Jones (Masked Builder) who has merely given the expected first day response "Blah, blah, blah, the captain's dead...", isn't there anything else you could have commented on during this time? What about Chief Burbank, or Lieutenant Hornby, nothing from you two esteemed officers? Ah Chief Burbank, I see we were speaking at the same time, thank you for joining us.

As it didn't look like they'd be going anywhere soon, Skrall unsheathed the Greatsword of Lion Nobles, taking out his dragon scale he began to hone the blade. He wasn't sure about how he felt about the sword, but he knew that it had to be maintained until it at least found its rightful owner. Skrall glanced up at the hero who had just entered with the chicken on his shoulder, he raised an eyebrow surprised that the bird had survived what had probably been many a dangerous encounter with who knew what other fowl creatures that populated Dastan. -

Skrall stands up, slightly confounded by all of the new faces. "Lion knights to the wall eh? I'm afraid if ya all even told me yer names I'd ferget them just as quickly, be that as it may if ya all wouldn't mind straightenin' me out on what's goin' on here, I'd be appreciative. In the mean time, what are we goin' to be facin' Sir Leofard, siege engines, ladders, mages?"
