  1. I don't feel that your only care about night actions, only that you seemed fixated on them singularly from the onset. You did when you said you were out of people you thought were scum! What's the point of saying such a thing. There are obviously more scum out there, ergo your mind should be going to more people you suspect of being scum! I don't put words in people's mouth, I call them out for the attitudes they represent. Hence my quote about godfathers and all manner of evil roles we see in other games, they require more thought and analysis than just a simple night actions and believe me, I've seen plenty of games where the town is so busy leaning on night actions they are easily fooled by the scum right in front of them. The point isn't those roles, the point is we should be working just as hard at independent analysis now as we would in those games. And again, it's not your words, which strangely enough you keep saying I'm accusing you of saying, it's your attitude concerning them. I'm trying to get you suspicious of someone, which I'll add you've gotten better at since the beginning of the day. That's how the town works, we lay our suspicions out, we back them up, we argue about them, we clarify, and we eventually win all because we open our mouths and talk. Silence kills a town and sometimes it needs reminding of that fact. I have in no way made up my mind about you being scum, only in that you seemed to be of an attitude that stifled analysis earlier in the day. And why would a townsman jump on your comments and suspicions? Do you consider yourself above suspicion? You happen to be one of the few individuals left who has no evidence in their favor by either night actions nor post analysis. It's a simple matter of the process of elimination and pushing you, or as you like to put it "jumping" is one way of getting you to talk and as we all know the more someone talks, the more likely if they are a scum they will slip up. As I said above, perhaps I consider you suspicious and have spent this entire time testing that theory. As far as others, Amanda and Balthasar currently don't have much going for them either at the moment, but I figured I'd start with you. In your defense, you haven't backed down and you've made a good number of town-tells, so I thank you for that.
  2. "Everyone, hold yer positions." Skrall stood back, pulled out a Bone and tossed it at the Enormous Fish A before finally pulling out a Phoenix Essence from his bag and sprinkling it's contents over Namyrra. 3. Yes it is a summary of how to play mafia, because you are lobbying in favor of a dependence upon night actions. Your very first post today, was an appeal for night actions, which we all hope to lead us somewhere, but thus far it has seemed like you treat it as our only recourse. You said you thought Paris and Abraham were scum, why did you think that? Is it simply because we had an investigation or a scummy looking CMF result, or did you consider the other contributing factors made plane through an analysis of their behavior during the day threads? If you did the latter than apply it again, towards new suspects, don't just "I'm out of people I thought were scum" and stop looking. I'm saying an attitude of total dependence upon night actions ends up causing the town to miss "what is right in front of them" later on down the line, not right now. And of course I feel we should use night actions as I so clearly stated, However work hand in hand with analysis of day behavior, not exclusive of it. Thank you for a suspicion, that's what I'm trying to get from you. Consider people's statements. Though when you make such statements, back them up i.e. how you have been trying to help the town moreso than me, or how I am manipulating the town and steering them in the wrong direction. Think man. I'm trying to guess your super name as requested by Fluffy, hence the lazy and manipulating monikers. And yes, I know we don't have those roles, but they are examples to reinforce my beliefs on how we work should as a town in this and every situation. Night actions and behavior analysis working together against any slyness the scum should try and get away with. I'll also gladly jump on the "point finger at Rocky" bandwagon if your behavior is warranting it. Don't give me the opportunity to do that though, engage us, use that brain that first made you suspect Paris and Abraham and apply it to the situation at hand, not only lounge back waiting for night actions and someone else to do the work. See above.
  4. "Try the middle fish, we'll take cae of the ray with counter strikes."
  5. This would be true, if we were trying to find scum only based on today's statements, but we have three entire days of comments where the scum wouldn't have been so careful. Having found three scum only increases our chances of nabbing the last one(s), because they would have either made compromising statements that linked them to their scummy team-mates or through process of elimination, they are the only ones whom their scum buddies never interacted with on a public basis in a townie manner. Night actions are incredibly useful and bringing up suspects, but with roles like godfather, millers, framers, tailors, and insane cops populating potentially this and other mafia situations, we as a town are required to use our heads and rationally inspect every word that has been said for subconscious scummy behavior that will eventually reveal itself. To sit on our hands and become dependent upon night actions is to reinforce the idea of a lazy town open to manipulation and missing exactly what is in front of them simply because the night actions dictate otherwise. So Rocky, are you Lazy Boy or Manipulation Man?
  6. "Alexis, make sure ya leave that last fish alone, we don't want to risk it attractin' a bigger fish."
  7. I am the incredible Hunk. Exposed to a deadly dose of microwaves at a young age, I found myself able to transform into a giant flesh colored manly monstrosity when saddened. Now it's time to get me some of that pale fleshy goodness of WONDER WHORE , who I have always observed from afar with love and affection as my alter ego, mild mannered Tybal Pearson. I say "ha" in the face of the evil scum who hide among us. We will root you out, just as we have your companions. The little Laurence did so much work for us, now it our turn to carry on the torch and pitch fork of justice to wipe this council free of any conniving monsters. It is strange to observe that the scum we have found thus far all exhibited different positions of the activity spectrum. Paris was heavily involved, Carlisa played middle-of-the-road, and Abraham was the quiet type, makes me wonder what strategies the last scum have been employing to remain alive. Of the remaining members of this council, both Amanda and Rocky have been inching higher and higher on my list of possible villainous perpetrators and I hope we have some concrete evidence from those among us with real super powers to nail down the final monsters.
  8. OoC: Not sure if I can seal it, but I'd think yes as it says "attack" and not "target". Skrall focused on the sea-monster's submersive ancient attack style, clearly unlike any beast he had ever observed before. Standing in the back and drawing two bolts from his satchel he took aim at where the monster would appear from its dive. "Those with fire magic, on Messie, otherwise make sure ya ain't targettin' any of those non-sealed fishes. Alexis, bone to biggest one would probably help." Battle Order: Stigveladi Hoke Stigveladi Hoke Skrall Skrall Namyrra Namyrra Nur Nur
  9. Skrall winced outwardly, it had been a long time since he had heard that phrase. The ogre turned on the dwarf drawing up to his full height. "Do ya think I just shout out suggestions for yer amusement, woman? Ya have proven yerself quite adequately thus far in these fields, but don't go bitin' the hand that's supportin' ya. There's no need to be puttin' down more equipment than necessary on these louts when we might just as well take care of 'em with our bare hands. Those fishes have their traps shut right now and we're in no danger of em' attractin' anything bigger. Now fall in and seal those man-eatin' monsters."
  10. Yep, but I'd prefer only those with fire spells or elemental weapons do the attacking, just to be safe.
  11. Bigger Fish B and C are currently Sealed, so there isn't any danger of them being replaced this round. I know we can tanks some of the hits, which is why I'm not having anyone attacking the Demon Ray, however I'm generally not a big fan of sitting back and waiting for the enemy to die when there isn't any danger in hitting them in the first place. I don't want anyone who's attacking Messie early in the battle order because of the chance of confusion, so I can't put Hoke or Namyrra early on to tank the bigger fish's hits. Your strategy is also valid, but it's not going to make much of a difference either way.
  12. "Yes, but I'd prefer we keep their free hits occupied with attacks of our own as opposed to more bones."
  13. "Stigveladi, go ahead and keep the two bigger fish sealed if ya can. Alexis, I think a bone would be appropriate to keep that Enormous Fish occupied, then go ahead and help Stigveladi with one of those fishes. Hoke, Namyrra, full assault on Messie with me." Skrall reloaded his crossbow and fired off two shots at Messie from the Back Row, keeping a Remedy on hand in case he became confused. Battle Order: Stigveladi Stigveladi Alexis Alexis Namyrra Namyrra Hoke Hoke Skrall Skrall
  14. Considering the first analysis provided by Romeo and myself in addition to this new revelation, I feel comfortable placing a vote: Abraham (Fred Daniel Yam). The only thing that has me worried though is that it sounds like at least one other scum made up a non-threatening CMF identity. If this is the case, then why didn't Abraham do so as well?
  15. I somewhat like the idea, however it's basically a reworking of the Cannoneer, i.e. does elemental damage against all enemies at the cost of 10 Gold, as compared to an archmage that's stocked up on Grand Tonics, does elemental damage against all enemies at the cost of 10 Gold. Also, considering that an Archmage's elemental options are a bit more limitless only being held-back by ether as opposed to Cannoneers who have a limited supply of only certain types of bombs, they kind of outstrip Cannoneers in the long run. The special is cool and miss rolls are neat but at the moment, I think the party role is already filled.
  16. Alright, so the more I've been going through Janice's statements, while Day 1 reads scummy to me, I can't reconcile the fact that she was pretty set against Paris at the beginning of day 2 without making a pretty far stretch of a bus due to an investigation result that I can't expect Paris ever saw coming. Moving on though, I did find someone else who's also been sticking to the middle of the road minus the conflicting suspicions of confirmed scum: Abraham (Fred Daniel Yam) Day 1: That is pretty much what happens, unless someone just slips up and makes easy for everyone Agreement with the majority. Like others have said, while this sounds great in theory, wouldn't D2 be a repeat of today (barely anything t go on) and we'd lose 1 Town per night to scum most likely. If we lynch someone, at least we have some data to analyse? Stays with the majority opinion, but won't give any comment on whether Melanie was suspicious or not, unlike some of the others at the time. So you say there is no point in analysing since there's no value today but you'd love to see an analysis? And you think that lynching a lurker that could be town is an idea even though you say it has NEVER paid off? That has earned you my vote for now Vote: Brittney Alfredo (PirateDave84) And bandwagon...the attitude actually sounds very similar to two other posts we saw earlier here and here. Day 2: Perhaps he thought you were acting suspicious by pandering to everyone, just like Carlisa. Truly a fascinating song. At least now we have something to go on rather than running around like headless chickens Interestingly enough, not a single consideration for other theories, even though they might be somewhat unlikely, perhaps she knew that the scum had no framer and the investigation result was true. What That's crazy. You've been grasping at straws the whole day since the results came out I believe today's vote is easy Vote: Paris Shawty (Tamamono) The inevitable bandwagon combined with a reactionary retort as opposed to an appeal to a logical argument. Show of hands how many people think this was a bus? right now? No-one, I really need to re-read everything that's happened so far. If I had a nickle for every time I heard this... How's the re-reading coming? Day 3: One of the echoers I earlier mentioned. Agreeable as ever with everyone. However that last part of the comment? Pandering, straight pandering in my book. All together, Abraham's just been sticking to the middle of the road and trying to keep on everybody's good side. But I'll wait to hear from him first before making a voting decision. Abraham? Seems like I'm not the only one. I guess we wait.
  17. A quick look back, I've pointed out Rosie's behavior (confusion due to context), Brittney's (I took issue with her strategy and conversed with her on it), and Paris. I think the only analysis you've put into the game is your single vote against Brittney which stuck out like a sore thumb to me, not that other's haven't either.
  18. So as I've said, the revealing of Paris as a scum has several repercussions and can give us some clues as to where other people's allegiances lie. Concerning Benvolio, while there is always a chance of everyone being a scum, I feel the current evidence supports his towniness. Let's indeed look at his behavior over the past two days. As Margret indeed pointed out, his first post was pretty much fluff and reassurance that he was reading things, granted the same could be said of a few other players that day, but that will be brought up later on. He then comes and places a vote against Melanie right when the scum really needed a bandwagon against Brittney, which means he's either not paying attention to his fellow scum team-mates who have already jumped on the bandwagon, or he's a townie that doesn't know any better. Day 2, he starts out suspecting Paris and Melanie. Paris, who would be a scum team-mate (before the investigation result was revealed) and Melanie, someone most of the group has let off the hook. So either this is a lousy bus and a dumb continuation on a tangent suspect as opposed to staying in the middle of the road and agreeing with everybody else, or he's again a townie that doesn't know any better. Moving on while still being suspicious of Paris, he doesn't take the last step and vote for her even when Paris scummy buddy, Carlisa has done so and statistically the rest of Paris's scum team. If everyone else is jumping on the bandwagon to avoid suspicion why is Benvolio not, unless once again he's a townie that doesn't know any better. Finally his last points casting doubt on Paris lynch don't make any sense from a scum's perspective. Benvolio would know that Paris is going to flip scum, so why prolong the charade? Why not just shut up like the rest of Paris's scum team and wait for the inevitable? Bad roleplaying, hesitant to vote for an investigated scum vs. accusing a scum before an investigation result, not joining on bandwagons, and encouraging discussion detrimental to a scum team. I'll grant that it's still possible he might be scum, but at this point not likely. I'd still like to hear what he has to say, but I'm not as worried about him as I am about others. Now, onto some other matters, due partly to process of elimination and partly to post analysis. For the time being, I'd like to offer up Janice Capulet (Kadabra) as a suspect. Thus far we haven't had a whole lot to go on, she's been fairly conservative in her play, but an analysis of her contributions show her to be very middle-of-the-road, very agreeable with everyone. Day 1: Expected early day 1 role-playing, nothing to fault her with here. An interesting statement, considered "wise" by a now confirmed scum. To me this looks like an attempt at to say something without really saying something. To loosely paraphrase "We need to look for scum, but realize we're probably only going to find town that look like scum, so it really doesn't help us to look for scum in the first place." Did you literally say "don't look at me?" Girl, you dumb. Then you OMGUS vote while blatantly lying that it's not an OMGUS vote, justifying it with a statement that isn't even true. And then you're being sarcastic and whatnot. This is so defensive it hurts. This is what I like to call 'realizing I'm dumb and trying desperately to backtrack'. The Unvote is just the cherry on top. And here you're just being agreeable for the sake of being agreeable. Someone mentioned pandering before, here's a prime example. "You're voting for me, but instead of defending myself I'll just roll over and let you walk on me." Passive aggressive~ ...With that said, I will proceed to Vote: Brittney Alfredo (Piratedave84) for the reasons I presented in my analysis above. Out of all the votes placed against Brittney on day 1, this one stood out to me the most. It's literally just painful, like a scum looking for reasons to vote out a townie and not be accused of bandwagoning, when all the rest of the townies are providing a few sentences of opinion and then bandwagoning she stuck out like a sore thumb. Looking back some of her accusations aren't very good ones to boot, just trying to make Brittney look scummy. Day 2: Out of all the people Laurence contacted, Janice was the only one to receive a message that mentioned "extra" suspicions against Laurence. If I ever smelled a bus, this is it. A little back and forth banter with Paris, nothing too seriousness, looking back, Carlisa did the same thing. Single sentence bus. Expected Bandwagon. Day 3: Expected, "Wow the town is doing such a good job!" comment. Pretty agreeable with folks today aren't you? Looking back, Janice just falls into a middle-ground void for me. Most of what she has said seems either forced or as she put it "pandering". Am I the only one getting that vibe?
  19. Is there an echo in here? Melanie, have I ever mentioned to how your music plays my heart-strings?
  20. Can't say I'm too surprised that the scum took out Alicia, since if they had to choose between guessing at who the investigator was and their mouth-piece, they had a better shot at the latter. I do know whom the investigator was at least supposed to target last night, so hopefully that will get us a step closer to solving this thing. Also, it's good to see that the vigilante picked out middle-of-the-road Carlisa, makes me curious if Laurence might have actually picked out three scum. Seeing as how Paris was scum, I think there are at least a few individuals we can safely say are probably on the side of the town due to their prior interactions with him.
  21. Out of curiosity, what would happen if a Witch special mirrored the Bigger Fish's special?
  22. "Namyrra, wood spells on the first ray, second if it's defeated, and bigger fish C if still not defeated."
  23. OoC: Sandy just ruled that doomed is not the same as sudden death. "Stigveladi can absorb the hit from the beast, Hoke. Everyone full assault on the Rays, after that make sure ya target one of the smaller fish." Skrall loaded two bolts and took aim at Ray A, making sure to turn his attention to the second Ray and the Bigger Fish if he succeeded in felling them. Battle Order: Stigveladi Stigveladi Skrall Skrall Hoke Hoke Alexis Alexis Namyrra Namyrra Nur Nur
  24. If the QM is consistent, I can't see it being too big of a challenge to strategize accordingly.
  25. Even if it is equal to sudden death, if special damage doesn't target us I want us to take the opportunity and take the rays out while we can.
