  1. "If we stick to the back, most of us can shrug off the effects of the crowd. If you'd like to have a discussion about party headship, I'll kindly remind ya to remember why yer still here on this mission." Skrall nodded though at Sandman. "Wing Aeoleus if ya can."
  2. OoC: Skrall should have the Paper Doll instead of the Lucky Doubloon equipped. "I don't think ya heard clearly, Vorpalis. Ya get Faust and that's it, ya want to stay longer than that, it's yer death warrant yer signin'." Skrall slugs down a Smelling Salt and then fires at Vorpalis from the back row with his Hunter's Crossbow. "Sandman take a shot at the Fanatic from the back row." Battle Order: Lind Karie Sandman Warlen Jennipher Skrall

  4. "Faust is Vorpalis's right and the dragon has no more right to rule than Faust does. Killing Faust will not transfer power to the wyrm, he already has it. I will not aid Faust, nor will I allow the beast to continue his terror."
  5. "Their king condemned them to death the day he stole the throne. I will not see Faust restored to his throne no matter how this should end." "Parading? What happens in the streets of Eubric to criminals Karie? They are hanged, I see no difference here. In what peaceful manner do you think this should have been conducted? Peace was forfeited the day Faust made his betrayal." "And ya would protect that property even when gained in such a despicable manner?" "Then I have misjudged ya and sadly so. For if ya can not see that such action will only lead to the final destruction of yer beloved country than ya are no more fit to rule it than Faust." The closed his eyes for a brief moment and breathed a long sigh before stooping and rearming himself. "I will let you have Faust for he is yours by right, but I grant ya no more than that Vorpalis. Remain here for anything else and we shall kill you."
  6. "Hmmm, could of sworn I saw someone in there, perhaps not." OoC: I'm one of the GM's who run arena bouts, but K-Nut apparently still has it closed. Maybe some other time.
  7. "Save Faust for what purpose, Gabriel? Ya've been goin' on about startin' to feel normal and actually bein' affected by the things around ya. Ya can look at me straight and tell me ya'll blindly and unfeelingly still follow this man after all he's apparently done? If'n yer waitin' fer a chance to show yer humanity, than now would be it." "Sod ya are, Flisperer. That renowned thief ya tracked down, did ya do it out of duty or did ya feel the fellow was wrong? Those star lizards ya keep goin' on about, duty or somethin' more? Contracts with a devil deserve no respect and will bring only ill upon the one who blindly accepts them." "Destruction of an entire country? Ya see what ya want to see, no one has been oppressed undeservedly. I'll admit we've seen horror and we've seen destruction, but the fault lies upon Faust for bringing it upon his own kingdom not upon Vorpalis. Ya wish to make amends and to right the wrongs, then humble yerself and admit yer fault." "And where will ya stand, Karie? Ya've been in Heroica long enough to know that we are not always privy to all the necessary details, ya know we've been wrong before. Can ya honestly side with Faust, contract or not?" "An understandable reaction and were the truth plainly known, they would be here today standing by your side. As for my companions... they may not yet comprehend their error, but I ask for yer patience, we are too often people of war and not consideration." "Sounds like a noble place yer goin' for and ya'll do me the favor of allowin' me to continue here, if ya'd have me. As grim as it may seem, with the loss of Bulk and Melody, sounds like ya could use some replacements. As for my companions, if ya kill them, it will only inspire more to come, even with Faust's death. You will not win in the end via blood shed, it is hearts that must be changed and eyes that must be opened." Skrall slowly lowered the hammer and then unsheated his great-blade placing it on the ground, while continuing to loosen the rest of his equipment waiting for responses.
  8. Skrall wasn't surprised the creature hadn't been fooled by the ruse but it had at least revealed the truth. The ogre stood his ground as he surveyed the Party, "Are ya daft? Have ya not just heard the truth plain as the day. What cause do ya have to fight for? A sniveling coward who's as good as dead and deservedly so? Nay, here's where I draw the line." The hunter stood with arms crossed and addressed the dragon in a booming voice. "Hey you! Vorpalis, yer revenge is satiated, you have set Faust's deceived followers free, now is not the time for war. Now is the time for benevolence and reconstruction, bringing this country to it's former glory. This Party before ya was as deceived by Faust as ya claim this nation has been for hundreds of years. I ask ya to be the nobler ruler and do not bring this ruin upon yerself, let us consult as free thinking beings and not clash like the dumb and mute beasts of the fields squabbling over a long expired carcass."
  9. QM Note: I didn't specifically mention this with Dwarven City Guard, but starting next round the Dwarven City Guard do not prevent free hits. The party continues to finally beat the beasts back with all members pounding down upon the creatures. The tide begins to turn, though the humongous monsters still retain a good deal of vitality. 10. "It's a bit run down, sure, but I think I could find someone to organize the match if you can find someone to duel with."
  11. Skrall whispered under his breath to Jinnipher. "If we're going to save Faust, we're going to have to get next to him. Keep it together until I give a signal." The ogre downed a Mead, shouldered Bulk's hammer, and strode up upon the stage. As the hunter passed Aeolus he commented, "We'll need to talk, there was unexpected resistance at the Buchaire's, they got away."
  12. "Oh you'll fit right in then." Boris drained his glass and laid a hand across Ezeran's shoulder. "Whelp, if you're looking at doing some honing, you could look for a sparring partner for the arena."
  13. "And so you came to Heroica to do it? I would have thought you would have continued your studies at home."
  14. "Patience, they come along every now and then." Boris poured himself another glass of wine, it's soothing effect making him more open to conversation. "I see you've got an emerald up there. A wizard by birth or training?"
  15. "Choosing to bear a burden as opposed to ridding yourself of it." The cleric shrugged, "Guess I can relate. Wasn't sure it would work anyways."
  16. "Would you like it removed?" Boris's hands begin to glow.
  17. Boris eyes narrow staring at the symbiont, "Here actually, and what sort of hell-spawn is that?"
  18. "Wasn't that like three years ago? And I would of thought yer party dealt with him back then." The ogre's expression softened, "Can't imagine all this worryin' doin' any good fer yer little one. What about the vaporizin' machine, I thought ya had a good dose of the stuff?"
  19. "Get tired of who I am?" Skrall took out his equipment and began to make sure everything was in order. "I don't know about ya losing your minds, obviously somethin's cooked you up in the head by the way ya keep goin' on about it and Karie's really the only other one who's been 'seein'' stuff. Lind may be a little off his rocker, Warlen a little quiet, and Jinnipher's got her complex, but I think we're doin' all right without runnin' around actin' like hens with our heads cut off. I've been in worse situations than this, I've seen the atrocities of war, I've looked into the void, fought demons, abominations, and more terrifying monsters than this dragon, things always work themselves out in due time if yer patient enough."
  20. "He called it a sword? You're not sure what it is?" The vampire takes another drink from his glass. "I don't recall meeting before, but somehow you know my name? As form my whereabouts, I've lived in Eubric Freeport for all my life."
  21. Bright Polish will up the SP by 1.
  22. Boris sips from his wine glass still sitting at the bar observing the antics of the new heroes. "It's been awhile since we saw some new quests much less new faces, you gentlemen from around here?"
  23. Skrall looked at Karie, "You've had a bad case of hearin' things and seein' things since ya went out into that fog. Mind explainin' what ya experienced once and fer all?"
  24. "Not a thing and that's what worries me. I think we could all use a dose of that machine before too long here."
  25. News to me, but sure!
