Generic Contest Discussion
Seasider replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I like the polybag idea. As to the limits we’ve actually had the part count limit at least twice. there was the MINI contest as other have said but also the TRIPLE contest was 3 linked modes of 500 pieces max. if you go polybag it should be reasonably easy to have a photo of the parts. Asking people to do instructions or even Studio/LDD files I think is a step too far. -
Glad to hear we’re getting a Ferrari. Hope it’s a road car like the others and not a race car. As to colour if I remember my Ferrari history well the yellow on the badge is the colour of Modena and deep in Ferraris history. So although we all think of blood red Ferraris a yellow one is equally relevant. But I think we’ll get a red one as that’s the colour everyone associates them with. So what could it be ? 296 GTB - this is due on sale this year but has already been shown. This could be yellow and grey instead of red. Just google it. Purosangue - their SUV / high riding vehicle. Not properly seen by the public yet. But I can’t see it being not a Supercar. Daytona SP3 - a limited volume car in a similar vein to the Sian, so potential. Has been shown to the world. F75 - whatever this turns out to be. ? - something else that no one in the public is aware of. I’ll have to get on LinkedIn and contact some people I know :)

[HELP] Generic Building Help Topic
Seasider replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I’m building the BMW M bike at the moment has anyone started to create car suspension designed with the new blue shock absorber ? Also I realise it slots into the wheel hub part that is used on the front wheel of the bike. May be useful for someone -
Just seen @kbalage ‘s video. Working in the industry I have to remind people that when covid hit the world lots of work stopped. I know of car programmes being put on hold for quite a few months at many OEMs. Also we know TLG tries to keep these secret and tease / release close to the real cars launch, so if that’s been delayed I can understand why the Technic model would too. It’s a bit different to a film being delayed but still seeing the Lego sets. I don’t mind if it gets delayed and actually I’d prefer if we get alternating years between Bikes and Cars in the Ultimate series. As to what it is … I don’t think we’ll know until we see the teaser.

I don’t think it’ll be a Bentley. I do think it will be from a brand we’ve not had in the series, potentially Ferrari (long history of Lego models) or McLaren (but not that highly known around the World to the general public). here’s the history so far Porsche GT3 RS - Lego 2016 - Real Car Geneva show 2015 Bugatti Chiron - Lego 2018 - Real Car Geneva show 2016 / Chiron Sport 2018 Lamborghini Sian - Lego 2020 - Real Car 2019 So I think I’ll be something shown to the officially shown to the public last year. For info (real) cars take 4-5 years to develop and the first year the look of the car is being developed. So if you took a car 1 year old Lego could potentially have been easily involved for 3 years before then.

[REVIEW] 42130 - BMW M1000RR K66
Seasider replied to Milan's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Ok, just started building the bike and I’ve got two questions … When did black friction pins lose their slot in them? When did instructions start showing the dimples in parts? Eg the 3L connectors with 2 pins holes and 1 axle hole The last Technic set before this I bought was the Lamborghini Sian. -
@nerdsforprez I hope you’ll hide some grey Technic gears in there somewhere too

Only just found this thread and love what you’re doing. I think if you added some “Easter eggs” like you started to do that would be great eg the Death Star you’ve added, perhaps an Octan fuel tank, a classic space logo

I don’t think it’ll be the 2022 car, the design of them will be a closely guarded secret. Although we’ve seen a 2022 concept car the car each team makes could look a lot different depending upon their design philosophy and how they interpret the new rules. as to it being a McLaren, the 2021 car did very well this season and as others say the colour scheme works with Lego and we already have McLaren licence for both Speed Champions and Technic.

[TC21] ZCube
Seasider replied to dickylaban's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
@dickylaban - an interesting build. I’m curious as to what the outside is going to look like? Is it going to be some form of tank / ripsaw in terms of style ? I’m not taking part in this competition this time as unfortunately I’ve not got the time at the moment but I’m very much looking forward to seeing what everyone comes up with. @everyone ! I’m not a mod but I’m sure @Jim and @Milan won’t mind me saying this but this threads conversation about posts and comments needs to calm down. I have to admit I’ve never paid attention to the “Vassals” “Dukes” “Counts” thing at all, all it shows is how long you’ve been here and how much you’ve posted. It doesn’t mean your more senior or of higher importance than some. Perhaps it’s a cultural thing (I’m British) where I know in some cultures (from my work) that hierarchy is very important. This is the second time I’ve seen this being raised by a “Vassals” complaining about someone with a different title. Perhaps something for the Mods to consider. -
LEGO Sci-Fi Ongoing - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
Seasider replied to Lyichir's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
I like the look of the Rover, but the orbital platform/space station just looks off to me. Just looks strange with a single small corridor section and then a huge lump, perhaps it’s the fact that the solar array is tiny?
