Looks like it. Maybe a half version of this piece:

I will have to look for it when I have time but I remember reading that an illustrator had a blank spot in the map and just made that up and that elves were never...ever...planned. They used to do things like this without realizing what it would mean to fanatics. Remember the Monorail track in the Space Police video? Yes, David Pagano had three pieces laying around and added it to the stop motion just to make it look more spacey. Also, there's an entire tag for Unreleased sets on Brickset.

I think you're being generous by saying I showed any tact, but thank you. -

No worries, man. And thank you. I just want to challenge the idea of bringing it up at all. Thanks for explaining your point of view. To be honest, the whole thing makes me just roll my eyes. I could care less what actually happened. And maybe it goes to show why it's not a good idea to make a reputation from posting leaks. -
General Pirates of the Caribbean Theme Discussion Thread

I don't care about the issue at hand, at all. I don't even know if whoever did it or whatever and again, I do not care. The only reason I even know about it is because I was directly contacted about it. I, and you all as well I believe, have much better things to do with my time then pay attention to BS like this. But stating you hope the accusation is wrong and then posting all of the attacks and the entire drama here is not, in my opinion, neutral. Posting that thread is perpetuating the accusation and the drama. If you hope the accusation is wrong, why post that before any conclusion has been reached? -

I thought of this too. However, I took pics for the new Licensed banner the other day and it was quite a challenge as I just don't buy sets anymore. -

I've known for a few days that I've gone out of my way to be a dick. So it's time for me to finally apologize. I'm sorry I over–reacted. If memory serves correctly, I only started going with the official starts of seasons to change the graphics because it was a way to justify how far behind I get. I believe my knee–jerk reaction was due to previous years of falling behind with new graphics and some negative interactions in previous graphic threads. It's no excuse but that all came out on you and I apologize for doing that to you. Finally. -

The Summer Solstice occurs on the same day in the whole hemisphere. -
Our goal is to make the experience here just as "fun" for everyone. If the large discussions have to be split into smaller ones for that type of free–flow discussion to exist, I would suggest that it's not the moderators interrupting but the off–topic discussion derailing the topics..

No worries. I want people to feel free to express their opinions. That's the reason we have this thread. But you all know that not much stops me from expressing back. I don't read those other forums. I used to read FBTB when I first exited my dark ages. Do they do the same volume we do nowadays? Do they have the same level of activity? I think Star Wars and Licensed are the best examples of rumor and set discussion threads that just get way out of hand. We moderate the way we do in response to complaints we get about people not being able to follow the discussions. We have obviously vacillated from time to time as well when people want it to be a bit more lax. Personally, I don't find it fun when I can't follow a discussion or when I see repeated occurrences of people taking it way off track.. I just checked out FBTB. Compare this to our stats: FBTB Who is online In total there are 34 users online :: 6 registered, 0 hidden and 28 guests (based on users active over the past 15 minutes) Most users ever online was 307 on Sun Feb 24, 2013 1:49 pm Registered users: Bing [bot], Google [bot], Google Adsense [bot], Google Feedfetcher, MSNbot Media, Yahoo [bot] Legend: Administrators, Global moderators Statistics Total posts 88272 • Total topics 6250 • Total members 6213 • Our newest member tobiaszhang EB 2589777 Total Posts 56696 Total Members larryr17 Newest Member 3715 Most Online 537 users are online (in the past 20 minutes) 87 members, 449 guests, 1 anonymous users I can't find stats on Brickset's forum. Brickpicker Who's Online 52 Members, 0 Anonymous, 45 Guests (See full list) Member Statistics 64,209 Total Members 1,227 Most Online I'm not saying we are better because we have a higher volume of activity, members and discussions, I'm saying we have more volume to manage and more likelihood for things to get out of control. We have a different model to respond to than the others.

I appreciate the suggestion. What we have found, through experience, that "adding a little tone" oftentimes gets ignored. We intend to be a bit more aggressive. There's a balance to be struck but we're not here to treat you with kid gloves either. If adding a winky–face makes that much difference, I imagine there's more of a fragility to the viewer's psyched that needs to be dealt with more than our level of "rudeness". Besides, the example I posted Nemo gives an alternative place to discuss the off–topic subjects and even says thank you. I think we do more than enough.

Noriach, summer palace of House Chorian

This is one of my favorite creations I've ever seen. I really love your style and your attention to detail but Norse architecture has a special place in my heart and I think you've done this beautifully. I'm particularly obsessed with the staircase. Yo, I took more. I had them in a different folder. Adding them to the dropbox now. Or maybe they were already there. I had a long night... -
The warning system is for staff use only. I should not have even mentioned it. Participate in discussions and follow the Site Guidelines. Mind the staff. Have fun. Nothing to see here.

This, by the way, is a lot nicer than the way I get topics back on track. I think he's being very respectful. Keep in mind the 2016 Licensed news thread was 377 pages long. How would someone new to the conversation know where to start or to follow along. That is the type of thing we try to avoid. I'd hate to have to audit that thread to see exactly how much of it was used to actually discuss news. We can't just let it go off the rails. We have to keep the discussion focused to the topic. There are others places to have the other discussions with the same people.

Not to mention, Phred is one of the few moderators who contacts the members directly. Most of us leave a warning on your profile that only we can see and then we take more drastic action when they build up. So, he's showing you a lot of respect by letting you know when you're violating the Site Guidelines. No, you can't just do whatever you want. Moderating discussions is not easy, especially in a forum like Licensed, for example, where a lot of younger members get excited and want to talk about set news and end up speculating and getting way off–topic. We know what we are doing when it comes to keeping the site running smoothly. There are plenty of places on this site to take the discussions that are going off–topic. We have provided that for you. If you want to continue an off–topic discussion you are more than free to do so in the appropriate thread. If a staff member tells you the discussion is getting off–topic, take a second to look at what you are contributing to that. It takes a community–minded approach from every aspect of the membership to make it a successful forum. Being irritated because someone has told you that you're not helping to keep the discussion focused is, in my opinion, self–centered thinking.

I just got screwed by a buyer! Need help
Hinckley replied to kibosh's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
I would try to contact Bricklink admin as well about this issue. And please post his name so that other sellers can block him. Whenever I've had a problem with a Bricklink user, I post on the Bricklink forums. They have a sub–forum entitled "Problem Order". I think it's a good move considering he won't respond to your emails. I once had a buyer try to tell me she had a piece missing and I knew I had put it in the envelope. We went back and forth three times and she found her son had taken it. Supposedly. Ever since then I photograph every order before I seal the envelope and keep it in a folder on my computer. With iPhones it's so easy to catalog everything I'm shipping. -
Agreed. Nemo was just promoted to Moderator because he does a great job in a forum that is hard to control because of all of the activity. Our volunteer staff has to drop the hammer sometimes to get topics back on track and that is especially true in the Licensed forum. So if you see one of our staff members being "a bit rude" you may want to consider what they are trying to accomplish and what they are working against to accomplish it. People can't behave just any way they want here, especially when that behavior causes other members to not enjoy discussions or make it impossible for new members or people who are new to a discussion to be able to follow it. I don't think Nemo's behavior is a shame at all as the decision to promote him was unanimous from the rest of the staff. I think if you're going to label someone's behavior a "shame" you owe it to them to provide an example of said behavior for them to answer to. In my opinion, Nemo has absolutely earned that respect.

Official start of Summer is June 21st so kindly don't pester me about when graphics are done. The staff here are all volunteers and we do what we can when we can to make it the community it is. If you were only curious, you certainly left your intention ambiguous. Try to be more clear, otherwise you might come off as insulting. -

Why don't you think before you speak and Google the start of Summer. I think your numbers might be a bit off. Also, if you want to pay me a salary I'll drop everything else for it. Or I could make one standard one and never change it. Resisting the urge to lock this topic too... -
