Eurobricks Mafia II: Mafia School: Day Three

I'd prefer a mayor who has the mental capacity to handle BB code. Wait, is that over? Should we not taunt him anymore? If you guys really want to be mayor, you can always vote for yourselves.- 110 replies

A word of caution: this concept requires great discretion with info. Big Cam meant well in EB I when he revealed his Actions in thread, but that's what verified the Scum teams to each other and lost it for the Town. Lets not forget that even if they outnumber us, they don't win unless they connect.- 110 replies

I would assume Li'l Cec was right. Unless the vig found some change in Cornelius's behavior, I would assume he or she went after Foog for those messed up statements he made at the end of yesterday. I didn't notice any change in Li'l Corn's behavior, so I assume the Scum saw him as a threat. So, why did Li'l Foog act so weird at the end of yesterday? A few people seemed to think he was trying to connect the Scum teams. Perhaps he was just setting himself up as a good fake decoy to draw them out. If so, he probably thought he had been just Scummy enough to start the plan and not attract the vig, but pushed it too hard. This concept can lead to all sorts of previously un-seen tactics. At the very least, we won't be distracted from dissecting all of his statements and can focus on finding a real threat. Or maybe Foog was a reverse death miller, Peanuts.- 110 replies

Doesn't Mr. def ever let us take recess. Foog, I wondered about this statement too. Why would we have to wait for the Masons to figure things out? Your statement seems to discourage Townie activity and I would imagine you are from the school of thought that an inactive Townie was a bad Townie. And why can't we base lunches off of Night Action results?- 175 replies

Eurobricks Mafia II: Mafia School: Day Two
Hinckley replied to def's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
This has been an aggravating night. I keep getting pulled away and every time I come back, there's more to respond to and it was taking me forever to compose thoughts on what's happened today. However, with this last "revelation", I can scrap what I had been composing. Li'l Scout, I had been worried about the slow yet steady bandwagon on you. Something was making me uneasy about it. But with your "big reveal" that you're a convertible Townie, you are either lying or not paying attention at all because a huge portion of yesterday revolved around if we were likely to know if we could be converted or not. Lying Scum or distracted Townie? (or distracted lying Scum?) We can't take a risk. And you're not helping yourself by choosing to accuse only Boy Wonder and EB staff with no basis for the accusations and voting for everyone you disagree with. I was starting to think we were making a mistake, which we might still be, because so much of what you did in EB I is actually mirrored here. I got myself lynched I was so convinced you were Scum in EB I, but you weren't. You have an odd way of wording things sometimes and a unique way of approaching things. I can't tell what's going on here, so I feel it's best to leave my vote where it is. As I said earlier, we'll all keep wondering if we don't resolve it now. Sorry. No hard feelings. Li'l Foog, Nightshroud made some Scummy posts in the morning as I and others have pointed out, then he mostly disappeared for the rest of the day, as did Dave who was also accused. As Scouty has been trying to defend himself, they have been pretty happy to blend into the woodwork, so yes, there were other candidates out there. One of the annoying things Nightshroud did was call Li'l Trump out for the attempted sting. You took it a step further today by pre-empting Scouty's ability to run one or possibly even discouraging him from trying it. I'm sure every Townie was thinking that the lynch candidate could try a better gambit but didn't stand much chance, but I don't see the point of discussing it in thread. Maybe we should all PM the person below us in the player list and claim to be Scum to negate anyone's ability to draw out Scum behind the scenes.- 175 replies

That's the mind-megablock of this game setup. Vote: Li'l Scouty (Scouty) If we don't lynch him we'll keep wondering if this is all an act or not. It's an odd strategy: backed into a corner, behave like a Townie who is giving up. My big concern is how many people are stating just that reason for not voting for him: these are the actions of an isolated Townie. Are they? It almost seems like Li'l Scout is spending all of his time defending himself and distracting us with "quitting" instead of providing any analysis into player behavior or even bothering to comment on the other suspects mentioned.- 175 replies

But you didn't get voted out last time and you were part of a Town block. Yes, it stressed you out but you learned from it. I respect not wanted to get stressed out but the opposite end of the spectrum isn't quitting. I don't want to vote for someone because they're giving up. If you want to quit, let a reserve take your spot. We can lunch him. that's a joke. I don't understand what you're doing... Stupid phone. WANTING and LYNCH.- 175 replies

Eurobricks Mafia II: Mafia School: Day Two
Hinckley replied to def's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I'm sure everyone's interested in what may have happened. But your analysis has gone from "that's a ploy that was easy to see through" to "maybe Li'l Trump's ploy found Danny to be Scum and the vig had claimed to the highest vote-getter who was claiming to be Scum and they swapped info and that's how Danny got killed." It's easy to come up with multiple scenarios with this unique concept, but your analysis seems forced as they contradict each other. If we were all thinking the same thing as you, why did nobody else call him out? And your statement seems to say there were two reasons for calling him out. What exactly is the point of calling him out if he's Town? Your second sentence there is giving me a headache. You're saying Li'l Trump had to have been coached otherwise what now? Otherwise you doubt anyone would've believed him if info was learned until today? What on Earth are you saying? I don't follow you. Can you please explain that? Thinking back on EB I, I'm reminded that Scouty was running a gambit there too. He was poking around by PM to trip up Scum. Incidentally, I flipped out and eventually got us both killed . At the point I called him out for what he was saying in private, he gave up there too. He said "I was trying to draw out Scum!" instead of continuing to play at being Scum in order to find the other team. Admittedly, we both screwed that up, but that's already been thoroughly analyzed. My point is, although he similarly gave up on his ruse last time, his ruse was kind of lame this time. And it has two different excuses. At first he says he's quiet because he's busy and then he adds, being quiet seems Scummy and therefore he was trying to seem Scummy to draw out Scum.- 175 replies

OK, your secret is safe with me but rumors tend to spread quickly around the schoolyard. I do find it potentially interesting that our theories match though. I was thinking that I wouldn't be surprised that some people in this game were Scum and that I wouldn't be surprised that some weren't Scum as well. You know what they say: Grape vines think alike. Am I learning it good, mr. def? As for Scouty, I think we should give him a chance to answer the many points brought against him. He was cranky last time we spoke to him. Maybe nap time has cleared his cwanky wittle head. Daaaaaaaw, he's so cuuuute when he's so sweepy.- 175 replies

I bet. Disproportionate amount of time is a great way to describe working all FABULAND pieces into a more complex build. Some of those pieces were not meant to go with anything but the pieces they were molded with. And that can be aggravating. Well handled here.

Hinckley replied to def's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Good point. Perhaps the potentially interesting part about Danny voting Li'l Corn for mayor is that we can have more confidence that he's not on Danny's Scum team. Or it's all WIFOM. Again, it's hard to know anything for sure in a game with so many conversions. As for the wording, yes, perhaps it's only clever in retrospect. It did stand out to me, though. There's not much to go on in the two substantial posts he made. Most of his posts were about having long legs.- 175 replies

Sorry I missed your lie detector post. I thought I was pretty thorough. I think you mean you're not trying to downplay Li'l Trump? Good point about Danny and Trumpet being connected through the vote. It's hard for me to imagine why a vig would target a person who a confessed Scum voted for, yet unvoted at the time of the confession. That would be an interesting risk for a vig to take, so maybe he was taken out by the Scum. Ugh, this concept can be taxing on the brain. Is it naptime, mr. def? If not, I'm going to sleep at my desk for the next eight hours anyway.- 175 replies

Brilliant! This is a very successful crossover. When you look at it, it looks very dark and complex and fits into the post-Apoc LEGO world very well. But when you look closely, it's a very effective and creative use of some unique techniques and cool parts usage. Thanks for having fun and entering the contest. It's a really fun entry and I wish you the best of luck!

I really love this, Cecilie! Not only the very creative build and techniques (way to use FABULAND shutters!) but the creative story as well. Great job!

Eurobricks Mafia II: Mafia School: Day Two
Hinckley replied to def's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I don't think it's odd that there was only one kill. In a game with blockers and protectors, there are many possibilities. From what I remember in EB I, the vig was optional and the Scum forgot to kill on Night Zero and there were no penalties so I don't think their kill was compulsory either. Doesn't mean this game is exactly the same, but the Scum may have stayed home to cause confusion or avoid killing a recruiter. Just as likely as the vig staying home. I don't understand how you think it's more plausible that Danny was killed by the other Scum team... unless you know something we don't. Weird joke. Ever hear of a protector? Why is the only option in your head that a killer was blocked? Again some who misses the possibility of a protector choosing the right target. Two people who think only a blocker would know what was up last night. And you: a person who also gave nothing for the lie detector to work on. (unless I missed it). Not to mention, the only person to not make a statement for the lie detector. I think it's insulting of you to insinuate Li'l Trump couldn't have come up with the gambit on his own. Especially since you think it was so transparent. That's not an accusation, just something that annoys me in these games. When people think other players must've had some coaching. Nice. But if you think it was so clear to be a sting, how do you hope something came out of it? Oh, here's your Scooby-Doo analysis. The obvious ploy might've turned up a vig target? So Li'l Trump tricked Danny into contacting him and somehow already knew who the vig was? That's an odd, and dare I say contradicting, anaylsis. I took a look at Danny's posts as well: He starts the vote for Corny for mayor. That's just a fact. I'm not implying anything. It's just potentially interesting. His last sentence would make an excellent reason for a vig to kill him. The bold sentence is rather clever. Nice one, Danny... if you were indeed Scum at the time. Ow, my brain. Danny makes a really good point here. Scouty saying "I'm acting Scummy to catch Scum" kind of blows the act of acting Scummy. You're not likely to catch Scum if you tell people you're acting Scummy only to catch the Scum. I doubt they will confess to Li'l Scout now. The font markup thing is a hard thing for me to base an accusation on. It's something that happens. I'm not sure we've heard satisfactory answers from Scouty for these valid points made by Danny. Which is not the relaxed attitude you claimed you would be adopting. So breath and don't take any of this personal...Scummy. Whatever side you're on, I love when you play. They may know something we don't but not because of what they've said about which team Danny was on. I was reading too quickly, catching up from a very busy morning. Both statements mention he would've been a recruiter for the theories they are each floating. Is that a thing? I can't imagine why someone would use a role like that, but I suppose anything's possible. If he was a bad conversion target, I would assume then that he was Scum to start, not that he was a Dead Miller. That would just be totally ducked. Well, I found it on Mafiawiki, as a variation of Miller: I doubt Danny was a Death Miller.- 175 replies

A what? If you're a miller, your real alignment is revealed when you die. As far as having a miller without an investigator, I seem to remember mr. def posting a list of potential ways the conversion wouldn't work for the mason and one was a potential Miller. Li'l Corn and Li'l Rick, why do you both seem to think Danny was a recruiter? I'm very busy today and I feel I missed something regarding that. Oh duh, do you mean just in the scenario that he was killed by the Scum killers? Or is it something else?- 175 replies

Sorry Li'l Trump but thank you for attempting to catch some Scum and making the best of your lynch. Hopefully he shared any lead he had with someone and that person can try to cultivate a strong lead for us. What I learned in EB I was to be cautious with info and strategies. I think most Townies could imagine that Li'l Trump might've been conducting a sting. When Li'l Night pointed it out, it did seem like he could've been warning his counterpart team not to fall for it. If you are Town Li'l Night, you need to be more careful. Obligatory statement on the Night's happenings aside, I really am stoked to have a dead Scum this early. In EB I it seemed like we'd never catch one and only finally did right before they killed us all. So, whether its great job to the big or Ha ha to the Scum, it's a great result for Night One. Stupid phone!! VIG.- 175 replies
