  1. Thanks for a nice review. However I am really disappointed with the set... the build looks totally unfinished and lackluster.... the figs are average... and the biggest let down is no armored elf warrior/guard with a new molded helmet..... Also no new mold for a shield is also a smaller disappointment.
  2. Updated
  3. Why is that one thing? To me its the same.... Just because you decided 1 is acceptable the other is not that does not make it universally so you know..... I had a friend selling me poylbags for Lake Town Guard for 6.50$ a piece..... bought 5 for my own collection and found it reasonable.... why shouldnt he make something for getting them for me?
  4. Anything that has its own Box design and name is a stand-alone product really.... Its basic Economy and product knowledge to understand that ....
  5. Well its not. I mean some of other people might not buy anything from LOTR (if they wanted to start these days) if they would know thats it.... Best is to leave us in the dark... from commercial viewpoint.
  6. Ye probably after LEGO movie it is.... If (shortly) after LEGO movie we get 0 news I think its safe to assume no 3rd wave.
  7. The only problem I see is these 3 sets All feel they should be 50$ priced point..... which will never happen and in the end it means 1 or 2 might get either cut out or mangled to adjust themselves to smaller price OR improved alot to higher price point... Maybe treebeard with merry pippin and Grishnak would be the best suited to be a 26.99$ set..... Rest need either much more bricks or 2 bigger molds and more figs ....
  8. Great work, but 1 thing really pierced my eyes... the white fence usage... kinda ticked the MOC in a weird place... rest was great!
  9. best way to army build for now is to buy those Kingdoms Chess sets you buy 3 and you pretty much have a great ''army''
  10. Well i somehow dont see how they can make Witch king ''showdown'' without Theoden... he is the focus of the enemy and Eowyn just happens to go and defend him there while others flee.... If we even get Witchking on a molded fel beast I doubt price point will be below 49.99$ ... Well I would do Lurtz vs Boromir..... Both figs only came in 1 set so far and all their parts are already created and Lurtz could have quiver and Composite Black Bow.... and add a good looking tree for decoration and represantation of Amon hen or maybe some ruins or brick built statue head or whatever.... But i dont know how popular would it be with kids....
  11. So tell me why would TLG want you to save... They are happy you spend money (or others) with you buying their orcs parted out and you said you would buy alot of gondor sets anyway... so its better for them you think its the last wave lol you go all out 2 times :D LEGO cannot produce a DECENTLY sized Minas Tirith without breaking it and look like a ugly piece of work.... Well just because you cant does not mean noone else can and I bet the best MOCers produce million times better White City than anyone at LEGO could ever do.... Tell me something though... how can they make decently size Minas Tirith if you propose a Wall extension army builder? you know it would be impossible to make a decently sized White City if the wall would be as high as the deepening wall.... it would look so funny... Wll i will say so... if collectors would still want a Minas Tirith we would have to get off our megablocks and MOC it.... here its about how much you want it... you would MOC it if you want it enough. If you dont then you would not.... simple as that really. 1. Whose Shultz? I thought that was Lurtz... 2. Balrog would probably have to be around 250-300 pieces so i'd expect it to be 29.99$ 3. If they make a Fell Beast and put merry, Eowyn, Theoden and Snowmane with barding in it I bet the price point is likely to be 49.99$ its 3,5 figs and a horse + molded creature(if molded) 4. I would make that 79.99$ (like Dol Guldur battle) and make Faramir, Frodo, Gollum, 1 Ranger (preferably without hood but hair!) 1 Gondor Soldier (shield + sword) 2 Orcs and Gothmog so 7,5 figs.... or potentially even give us 2 Gondor Soldiers or 2 Rangers.... Like Gandalf Arrives huh?
  12. I coul not believe my eyes....
  13. Yeah Deathleech but lets face it... it wont HURT you if you save extra money regardless of LOTR wave... you can always spend it on something then... so asking for LOTR infor to decide if save ot not to save is weird.... Save regardless and you will have ''plenty'' of cash then
  14. Well not to be mean or anything... but its always good to save money even if you dont know if LOTR is coming.... save it like its coming really and if it does not there is all your money to spend on something else... bad idea?
  15. Yeah but those were all unoffcial... I think we can safely say first 100% confirmation was inside Hobbit sets instructions with last page teaser for LOTR... which this year is missing.
  16. The first confirmation we got was when 1st wave of Hobbit came out and there was teaser in the last page of instructions of Hobbit sets with LOTR stuff saying they come out in summer... this year it was 0
  17. Yeah but from kids perspective its enough if they get the wall and front gate with Grond and maybe even a catapult/siege tower they dont need a whole city like the project shows (or tries to show) Noone battle at courtyard EVER unless you call Gandalf bashing Denethor with a stick battling.... if we go by your logic that kids 1st and battling is main thing then whole Minas Tirith is irrelevant and we need gates + a little wall and Grond and loads of figs. Yes helm's Deep is by far the best LEGO LOTR set (once you pair it up with you know what) but you also have to understand helm's Deep is not a city it is a refuge place to withstand an assault. It is also much easier to make ''whole'' Helm's deep scaled down cos their main elements are a tower with a horn, Thrones room gates with 2 smaller towers guarding them and a huge long deepening wall.... in movies atleast there is literally nothing else shown (caves etc) As I said you want a kids toy I suggested a kids toy sets: 1. Gate + grond (6 figs) 70$ set 2. Courtyard with white Tower 7 figs (140$ set) - 2000 pieces That way we get 2 most important parts of Minas Tirith (in movie) fans can MOC the rest and kids get to play the battle at the gate (which is cheaper)
  18. But the shape is not captured well... not even ok.... look at the middle part... and the shape of Minas Tirith has 7 lvls... how is having 2 lvls a shape well captured lol not to even say that the tower is absolutely funny lol The catapult is as high as the 2nd lvl lol I appreciate Nuju for trying but I could not support such creation.... and since its up nearly 1 year and is not even on 25% supporters it shows many share my thinking.... I know 5 friends who all collect LOTR and would NOT want a Minas Tirith like that... We used to say when playing poker... go big or go home :P and thats how I think about minas Tirith. http://lego.cuusoo.com/ideas/view/17647 That is a minas Tirith that looks ok... granted its Micro... but the build is proportionate to itself... they release it like that... Ill buy it instantly ...
  19. Thats what you think ye.... this looks ugly plain simple.... it is missing too many important stuff.... not to mention this was a CITY... where thousands or tens of thousands could live.... how is that mangled wreck representing such thing? How is that representing a city that should take breath when you would see it in reality? Its supposed to be atleast 1,5x the height of Orthanc and I am not even sure if its with or without the Tower of Ecthelion! Minas Tirith is grand... so grand that makes Helm's Deep look like it could be garrison for Minas Tirith.... As I said I rather see they just make 2 sets out of it. 1. Gates + Grond 2. Courtyard with White tower They should make something in a line of that, ofcourse a little smaller and be 2600-3000 pieces being UCS and having 8-10 figs (unique Denethor and Tower Guardsx4) Or if you want in LEGO, this just without any other buildings apart from tower main hall and the white tree and half smaller... Ofc nothing is in the right size.... but atleast it has a decent size comparisson in LEGO terms.... Here in that cuusoo project the size is contradicting the width etc.... it looks fugly to say the least ...
  20. my fellow Slovenians made a perfect MOC... truly astonishing details... too bad I missed it. Loving the pictures.
  21. And that is FAR FAR FAR from anything called ''good'' this is a pretty crap representation of the best city/citadel in Middle Earth.
  22. Bought Wizards battle and Elrond's Council decent prices... 22€ and 10€ .... for EU atleast lol
  23. Yeah cos you dont build armies.... try getting to 1000 uruk hais with only buying Uruk hai army on retail..... enjoy your credit card explosion :D
