  1. I see a lot of what you said happening, except the idea that Rex will be one of the first characters to bite the dust. I sort of am interested in a fan theory Dave Finoli seems to be hinting is true; where Rex survives to the Battle of Endor. (A sort of explanation of that theory is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bz6lJizHghI ). I don't think this season is the end of Rebels, but I can only see it going one or two more seasons. Rebels, just like The Clone Wars; has the issue that it is sandwiched between two of the films (Ep II and III for Clone Wars, Ep III and Rogue One/Ep. IV for Rebels). That just means the closer we get to the events of Rogue One, the sooner we will see the end of Rebels. Current advertising for the show hints that the threat of Thrawn will be what forces the scattered Rebel cells into one unified Alliance; which means all the pieces are in place for Rogue One. I figure we could get one more season just to introduce a few more Rogue One stuff (Chopper meets K-2SO please!!!) and then I think the series will end on Rogue One revealing the fate of the crew. Also the way you quoted me "Long post, I did read it" made me chuckle.
  2. That last one, ummm wrong canon! LOL. I actually heard some Star Wars fans joking that the end of Rogue One was not the Death Star blowing up the rebels on Scarrif, but actually it was Kyle Katarn firing a shot through dimensions to kill the cast of Rogue One for steeling his role in the story, and due to the bad*ss that Kyle Katarn is the shot he fired grew so large it looked like an explosion from the Death Star. Yeah that's a lame one too.
  3. Yes I think a large D2C set to coincide with one of the new Fantastic Beasts Films would be a good way to go at it. I could see a set based on something in one of the new films (I don't know if Fantastic Beasts though had any really iconic new locations. Its most iconic thing was the setting of New York City in the Jazz Age, and honestly we have a few Lego sets based on New York already.) However, I think a D2C Hogwarts would do very well. I imagine our last Hogwarts from 2011; just up scaled with the same price the Disney Castle had. (but with a figure assortment similar to the previous Hogwarts castle and not the small lot of figures the Disney set came with). There would be some irony if we ever got a large D2C castle, as Hogwarts is the park icon of a theme park which is a rival to Disney World... So go figure!
  4. Well... http://www.starwars.com/news/the-star-wars-rebels-easter-eggs-and-connections-in-rogue-one
  5. I just downloaded Rayman: Orgins as a free Xbox Gold reward game. Oh my gosh, I had forgotten how much I loved Rayman. I had Rayman 3 on Gameboy Advanced as a kid, and a friend of mine had Rayman 2: The Great Escape on Sega Dreamcast. Orgins is all of that with an even better wit, ease of play-ability combined with some decent challenge, and some great artwork.
  6. Since I think it is pretty common knowledge by now I will say this; the inclusion of the Ghost in Rogue One makes me think that this series will see a tonal shift right before it finishes. Rogue One is pretty grim; and lots of characters die, so if that is what Rebels is building towards I expect there to be a moment towards the final season when things will "get real," someone will die; and the Rebels crew will be pushed closer and closer to their final fate in the Battle of Scariff. The fact we don't see the Ghost after the battle in the movie makes me think either a) The ship was damaged and the crew had to escape the battle before the Devastator arrived, or b) the Ghost was destroyed out right in the battle, and the entire crew of Rebels bit the dust then and there. Something has to be done to explain their lack of presence in later films. While the Ghost on the run from the Empire after the Battle of Scariff explains why they wouldn't have been at the Battle of Yavin, it doesn't explain why they weren't on Hoth or Endor later on. As much as I want most of the Rebels cast to survive the series, the story they are trying to tell makes me think things will get very grim very quick when the moment arrives.
  7. Well stated. I don't think anything else can really be said about it!
  8. I hope Lego is successful at this. I just saw an advertisment for some knock-off Star Wars figures today, and was shocked that not only were people actually being fooled into buying them; but the seller was selling them off for nearly as expensive as getting the real stuff. Awful market that is out there.
  9. I actually remember reading a review on FBTB where the author stated he would pay "any amount of cash" it took to get any set no matter how bad the set was if it included Squirrel Girl. If she is released as a Comic Con exclusive there will probably be a fan revolt! Riots in the streets and Ebay scalpers galore! However the fact we have gotten Kamala Khan in a retail set (which I am still waiting for that one's US release by the way...) has me hopeful Lego will do more stuff based on what is popular in the comics at the time. If we have gotten Ms. Marvel, I am hoping others like Squirrel Girl, Spider Gwen, etc. aren't that far behind. Just please if they do a Squirrel Girl, do the modern post-2015 looks. Either the bomber jacket look, or the gray jumpsuit with the tan line down the middle. Don't do that old black and brown monkey suit thing she used to wear... That would look way to weird.
  10. Well some really talented studios can make caricatures of emotions just fine...
  11. Big Brother is watching the forums, be careful what you say! That would be awesome! Even for just a brief city subtheme, sort of like the Volcano and Arctic themes were. I think we could have a set with a lodge (and maybe even a ski lift) as the flagship set. A few smaller sets with snowcats, or snowmobiles, etc. Anyways for my ideas for non-licensed themes: First, I think Lego needs a dedicated Train theme again. I keep saying it, but I feel it is worth repeating my opinion! Another theme I hope we see, an amusement park theme. We have seen bits of it in the recent ride sets (like the ferris wheel) and the Friend's subtheme; but I think it is ready to be launched as its own full theme.
  12. All of the Guardians sets look like a fun time. I hope to try and get them all. Since I didn't own the original Milano, I am happy to acquire the new one.
  13. Oh my gosh! Stupid auto correct. P.S. I actually work in hospitals checking people in, one of my locations includes a cancer hospital. Should I tell them I can hear tumors now? I could get a raise!
  14. Yes, I have heard that rumor too. I won't believe it until I see it though.
  15. Well, they have killed off a few of the secondary characters, and have implied that Asohka is dead. Also Kanan got blinded... My bet is if they start killing characters off, they will use it to add drama to mid-season and season finales. Since we know that at least Hera and Chopper made it to the Battle of Scarrif, it means the rest of the cast is in risk of biting the dust sometime before then (and Dave Finoli is kind of suggesting that Captain Rex made it to the Battle of Endor although that hasn't been canonized yet.). I could see Kallus and Sato both in risk right now with the current story plots going on, and Sabine, Zeb, and Kanan are also possible candidates for upcoming impactful character death moments. Especially Kanan, since I think his death could push Ezra to mature greatly while also running the risk of turning closer to the dark side.
  16. WIP Squirrel Girl figure. My main Lego collection is at my parent's house; so I don't have a better torso to use as a stand in right now except for the CMF Babysitter torso! Gonna Bricklink a bomber jacket torso and proper hands in the next purchase to fully finish it. A few things I have noticed building this mock up figure though, the hair and tail piece collide with each other, making it all a tight fit to pull of. However the head from the Batgirl figure suits the character well. Now I am tempted to do a regular Doreen figure, were instead of being in her Squirrel themed super hero get up; she is in normal clothes with a laptop and a ton of homework to do... College life in a nut shell.
  17. Well they already kind of did the CGI thing with her... But I am glad to know that they won't play that trick again with Episode 9. I think CGI makes sense for brief cameos or minor roles, such as what we saw in Rogue One. But unless the character is supposed to come off as alien, artificial, or otherworldly (Jar Jar Binks in the PT, Snoke in the Sequel Trilogy, Gollum in LOTR, Clu in Tron Legacy, etc.), I think using CGI for them for longer than a few minutes is bound to create problems.
  18. I am missing a few Clone Trooper figures, the very first clone troopers from back in the original Republic Gunship! But I am not to bummed about them since they look very dated next to current figures, and I am only really using them now to fill up cockpits while the newer figures take center stage in display.
  19. I am starting to collect the CMF line. I have Glam Metal Bat, Fairy Bat, Nurse Harley Quinn, Catman, Dick Greyson, Barbara Gordon, and Chief Gordon. So far it seems I got most of the main characters of the film other than probably Joker just from a few minifigures. Seems like a fun series, but it will be pricey to get all 20 of them! :P
  20. I think he is in the medium set, you can kind of see him through the cockpit of the yellow ship.
  21. This just oozes evil and looks like the villain I wish the Toa could have fought instead of some of the sets we did get... Probably one of my favorite Rahkshi you have built, and it definitely feels like your skills have advanced while doing this series of builds. The group shot with your Makuta at the end brings tons of nostalgic feelings!
  22. Which is weird since Cars merchandise is in the top three highest selling Disney toy brands along with Star Wars and Frozen. Maybe the Lego version just couldn't catch on compared to the other Cars stuff?
  23. Those look dope. I didn't get the original Milano, so I am glad to see a new one available. Can't wait to see better pictures!
  24. 7667 wins most of the categories for me. Sure its a non-canon vehicle, but it actually makes sense for the Empire. A quick air ship to drop troops off into combat, or to drop them off in Urban areas for patrols. The new one. 75165 has a similar non-canon feel to it, but I think it is kind of ugly; and makes no sense considering the Empire already has AT-ST's, AT-DP's; and maybe even a few AT-RT models left around from the Clone Wars era. Plus those stud shooters are a knock against the new set compared to the classic blasters in 7667. As for figures, I think 75165's figs have better detail, but the 7667 has a better ratio (3 normal troops to one shadow trooper). I want to get 75165 once it is released in the states, and might get a few copies of it; but I doubt I will have as much fun with that walker as I have had with 7667's pure swooshable simplicity.
  25. Pacific Rim, I hadn't seen it since it first came out. It is a very, very, very stupid film. But highly entertaining. Lots of action, crazy stupid fun; hammy dialogue, and over the top effects. Goofy repetitive leit-motif guitar chord as the main musical theme that just screams, "TESTOSTERONE!" Heroes that are stereotypical bad*sses. I first saw the film back in 2013 with two of my friends and I sort of view it as a "Dude's night out" movie. Stupid, but loads of fun, just like many great video games. A great movie because it does stupid well.
