  1. Wow, that sucks. When I was in yr12 we just sort of mooched about with some minimal lesson plan and a healthy dash of "what to expect next year" alongside setting up replacements for all the yr13 student positions now left empty (Head boy and girl, senior captains. All that jazz.) Oh, and volunteering opportunities. So on another note: Best method of travel to Gunzberg eh?
  2. A new mission has arrived! Visit Action themes to get involved!
  3. Mine is known as Pep. Pep is what I'm often called at events and meet-ups and is shorter than Peppermint. It also fits the sort of 30s/50s adventurer "flavour" I gave my sigfig, what with the aviator jacket and gunbelt, she is sat outside the desert hostel I built when I've not take my sigfig somewhere. Very adventure serial/pulp novel sort of look and a name that those sort of gals pick up in boarding school and the like. She could be the rowdy aunt who comes to visit just in time for the murder in an Agatha Christie novel!
  4. Lordy, I am spending lots of money on all this aren't I? I just finished my patrol of the clearance sections this week (Batcave, Creator Helicopter, Ambulance and the snkae tribe vehicle thing with Fangdam, all at half price or more!!!!) and then it will be time to start on Chima until the new City and Friends sets get into the shops.
  5. "Right," Tesni slid the club home and strode through the next door.
  6. "Maybe it's a robe cariad, the colouring would look lovely with you hair." Tesni smiled. "I'll just 'ask' where he got it from, I'm sure my Spiked Club will be of assistance."
  7. Well, I am not a mother but I do have a lot of younger sibs, friends with young kids, family friends with young kids and my sibs many friends. It all works like this:- MOCs and sets: There are in a bit of a jumble right now but my younger brother is allowed to look at and pick up MOCs as my work is helping him develop his skills in MOCing. Sets can be borrowed for play but cannot be broken. Visitors to the shared loft space can only interact with built sets and MOCs in the presence of myself or my brother. Parts: Most of my parts are unsorted. A lack of space means I can't correctly sort everything to my liking. Minifig parts are sorted. All my LEGO is not allowed to be used without me being there. But, I do have a box of mixed clones. These have parts and sets and figures all mixed in one tub. This is free for anyone to use as long as they tidy up again afterwards. There is plenty to play with and nothing important can be lost of broken. I throw out the poor quality parts and I regularly check for broken pieces so it's all safe. This arrangement keeps everyone happy.
  8. So, to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the London Underground, here is a short story I wrote a while back. A Lost Past “We’ve found it!” Bombastus exclaimed, tearing the clinging roots from the metal plate. “Are you sure sir?” his assistant asked, narrowing her eyes as she tried to read the unfamiliar characters. “Of Course!” he said excitedly, sweeping dust and insects aside with an impatient hand. “Sorry sir, I’m not an expert of ancient languages.” She Sighed. Bombastus, however, was otherwise occupied, dashing about muttering “The ceramic tiling! The Curvature! So well preserved sealed from the flood waters!” Alice sighed again. She gingerly stepped over the twisting roots to catch up with the professor. It had all started four years ago in the vaulted halls of Heyperjing Institute of Higher Learning. Doctor Amadeus, Master of Geography and Topographical Studies, had been gifted a bundle of rare and antique paper maps which pre-dated the great flood. In great excitement he had rushed them to his cousin Bombastus, Master of Archaeology, Ancient-alia and self proclaimed “old stuff” expert. One of the most enigmatic of the maps seemed to be a diagram of a mass transit system for an ancient city. After a year of study one of Bombastus’ fellows and former classmate published his discovery of an ancient city thought lost to legend in a seemingly unimportant biomass area. During a toast to this great discovery, Alice had been flicking through the journal account and had come across an image of the last surviving map fragment of the city. She noticed some similarities. Much activity had been generated by this discovery , further checks had confirmed the match of several locations and the route of a river. Within two years Bombastus had secured funds, governmental backing and willing participants for an expedition to the newly discovered city. He bullied a colleague into taking his lectures so he could accompany them in person. Alice had been appointed his personal aide. They had met Doctor Davis at his dig in the jungle. Marvelled at the tree clad structures he had uncovered before starting the laborious task of clearing meters of silt washed in by the flood and acres of plant life that had grown on the rich topsoil, trying to discover their preferred access point. That morning their efforts had been rewarded. “Alice!” Bombastus called, shining his torch in her direction, “Come and look at this! A perfectly preserved paper sheet!” She stood beside him and dutifully admired the artefact. Her gaze wandered left... “Sir, I think the transit tunnels could be down there.” Alice gasped, noticing a now familiar symbol on the wall. They ventured deeper into the complex. Easing their way through a door, Alice caught sight of a transit vehicle and rushed to study something in her area of expertise. The expedition group came slowly behind, harangued by Bombastus between his bursts of rhetoric. As Alice inspected the peculiar wheeled metal box before her, Bombastus peeled himself from the group and to investigate the tunnel walls. Not a minute later his bust of victorious laughter broke the reverential silence. “We did it! Alice! Look, the sign!” he paused for breath. “Canary Wharf... Alice, we’ve found the London Underground!”

  15. Glad it arrived safe. Sorry for the delay folks, Christmas Postal things never happen well for me so I waited for a safer time. They should all be winging their way to you! Although the post office employee was a real misery, last time I sent some parcels of LEGO I had a lovely chat with a nice lady. This time the girl was grumpy and boring... Ah well.
