  1. I had the same problem as you, but I got around it quickly. Just about the Front Loader, I learned to always flip the clutch switch first, and then turn the motor on or off. Never start the motor and then switch the gears, because then you lose control quickly. I rarely get the gears stuck together now, but I know exactly what you mean. The thing is, what you'd be asking for is a way to simply leave the motor running while you're doing something else and not have anything on the machine stick or break. That would be a bit pointless though. (Don't take the first sentence to literally. I don't know what you're thinking. ) Always let the liftarms/beams from the bucket angler line up with the beams supporting it, and the gears will never jam. Never extend the linear actuator 100%. Just until it goes slightly passed a right angle between the beams. Never let the beams of the bucket raiser/lowerer go to the full extent, inward or outward. After a few tries, you'll always remember that point just before it reaches out ward, and you know, you don't really need it out that far. Real construction vehicles don't actually need a million points of articulation. They really only go to the extent right before the gears jam. Of course, real Front Loaders use hydrolics, I think, so they don't have any of these problems!
  2. That was really weird. Could do it though, just with the molding of the head, it's pretty easy, until it comes to short-haired Luke, Obi-Wan cape less, old style young Anakin, and everyone else with the traditional male hair mold.
  3. It was perfect next to KimT's mega-nette! If I am correct, you traded minifigs, yes? This is one of the most repeated MOCs ever, (though not nearly as much as UCS Venators, which are always great ) and as usual here too, this is an excellent MOC! Although I've never liked the Imperial Shuttle set because it's so featureless compared to newer functions, it's always captured the actual ship well enough, and I love the model built around it! Two Star Wars line up scenes together! Perfect combo!
  4. Sorry... I didn't mean that way at all! I love all of the fire engine MOCs here on Eurobricks, but I was particularly referring to the fire trucks in my town! I'm really, really sorry. Not to mention though, your fire truck is great! But that's also a different category, as it is model team and this is town scaled! Sorry again everyone!
  5. Thanks. I don't know, the rest of my internet is moving at normal speed. I would never think to blame the site, as it's always run straight and smooth for me. I checked out my task manager, and nothing new seems to be working behind the scenes. Question: Are the site banners supposed to be spring-themed now, because Eskallon's post showed that the banner for Website and General was not changed, yet it's always been winter for me. Did the whole site move and I'm lagging behind?
  6. Spot-on! I've been waiting for someone to make a real firetruck-looking firetruck. I guess they look different in Europe? My ignorant self will have to look that up. Any way, the entire truck part of the truck is one million percent perfect! I don't think there's a single complain that comes to mind! It's so detailed it's like model team! I think that's pretty much minifig-scaled. Maybe about 1/8 too big, it's huge, but you should definitely keep it that way! That's a pretty long ladder, by the way. God forbid they ever need to use it!
  7. Wow! This is really cool! I can definitely see the resemblance to Frenzy in that alien. To think, this whole theme was lost! Of course, it was pretty much entirely made into other themes except for that minifigure, but oh well. Lego should definitely dig this theme up! I'd love to have that underwater rocket thingie. Were there any other "lost themes" like this? I'd love to see some!
  8. Now the board is acting dead slow on me. I have the latest version of firefox. Thanks!
  9. I think he said he bought them printless, but even so, you can't scratch off printing. Usually, people use Brasso, I think. It's a chemical that gets it off easily. The color you get underneath is the color of the plastic, in this case green and silver.
  10. Agreed, if they would a release a mini that bad (the non-smoothness!) it must just be to promote the big boy. It all adds up!
  11. Is this a set up for a Mandalorian Christmas? They've got to be fakes, as said, because nobody would waste a minifig like White Boba, and as far as I know there were never widespread red test-molds of the helmet, only ever Vaders. If I were you though, as long as I didn't pay way too much or was tricked into trading something more valuable, I would definitely keep these!
  12. Magnet set coming out! Don't waste your money! I had to heavily modify this set, and even at the end there's a huge design weakness flaw and it looks a big bulbous! The set is good for playing, but really bad compared to it's predecessor! Once I even dropped the ISD, and it didn't scratch! I slipped on my rug holding the venator and spent a whole fifteen minutes fixing it up!
  13. Lucky your not in my area! I'm glad to have picked up three of these. If it weren't for the facts that I'm saving my money, and playing isn't really my thing, I would have bought a ton more. I also regret only getting on Shuttle. It's actually a lot better than it looks on the polybag. The back is very nice, but the cockpit design is ingenious! Thanks for the review! My favorite part is the silver stud for the astro-droid head. The funny thing is, it's the size of the cockpit! Giant R2 coming this way!
  14. The last two work depending on the MOC. The latest one is more advanced, and a really modern looking, but for the classic, old-fashioned homey look, the third is the better choice.
  15. Prompted by this topic: Link With Lego's ever expanding great repertoire of licenses, some great, amazing things can come out of it, for me, I would love, and do imagine seeing Star Trek and LOTR sets. But, that also means some bad things can come out. Some really, really bad kid's movies that honestly deserve to be burned and boxed could easily be made into Lego. Right now, Lego's locked in with Disney, and Disney has great things like Prince of Persia (although it knocked out Indiana Jones,) but besides their yearly award winning animated films, there are some really cheesy things going out. I recall, or I hope I recall Lego saying they would not expand to Disney channel. (1) So, with new licenses fluttering about, what really bad things can you see being boxed with a Lego logo? 1. Also note: With the Disney license, Lego should have Marvel rights, imagine those! (Not to forget DC and other comic companies. Dark Horse, because of Star Wars...)
  16. 2012, the Hobbit, Lord of the Rings! It could happen! Think of all of the great fantasy parts coming from there, the minifigures especially! There's also a high demand, and regardless of ratings kids get hooked at an early age! So many everywhere want it, and when the movie comes out in 2012, it would be the perfect push-out time! Not to mention, Lego is ever-expanding their liscenced themes each year, imagine the possibilities! EDIT: My worst fear is probably a Shrek license. Topic idea!
  17. I think it's handed out separately. Also, on the Han-carbonite thing, the dark marbled pa\tter isn't bad quality, it's the same color as 2006 Bionicle parts, the spheres and some armor. I don't quite consider it studless, even though it has no studs, it still is compatible with other Lego parts. The most un-connectible parts were those in the old RC's, there were 4 or 5 of them, barely resembling Lego.
  18. Welcome back, and stunning MOC! The pillars have great detail, but the overall shine of the floor is what gets me! Thank God for the Visual Dictionary fig!
  19. What piece without a single stud? On the topic of "trans brown" what the ----? There are so many things wrong with that. For one thing, there's nothing brown about it, and for another, that was absolutely my favorite trans-color. It's been in so many sets. I'm hoping it's just something that will pass like the discontinuation of purple. Do you know the reason for be-ridding this color? I loved it... so much!
  20. If I recall correctly, the telehandler not only had an instructions fluke, but rather an overall design fluke. There are instructions everywhere on how to fix that, though. I believe it was a problem with the steering. To me though, most of the mistakes are my own. I kind of like fixing them though, as long as they aren't little things in the model that I have to rip a whole side off to get to, and then take out the gears, and so on and so forth.
  21. Thanks! Looks really good! Just what I wanted it to do. Sad that you have to get rid of the engine though. I can use that for something else. Quick question: Do the wheels make a difference? It's traction, right? Thanks!
  22. Does anyone have their own instructions on how to motorize 8041 Race Truck? I'm considering putting it on my list, but I'd only get it so I could put my motors and receiver to good use. Really would appreciate it! Thanks.
  23. Huh? The only colors that come to mind are trans black and trans clear. This picture has it as trans clear: So, you're saying that TLG is discontinuing the trans-black like the old Slave-I cockpit, and they called that trans-brown, and this is dark?
  24. 1. Lego has Star Wars 2. Lego is a record breaking toy, note the world-famous Mindstorms and very advanced Power Functions 3. Lego will always be the name people remember, especially when talking about any studded brick set, considering all of the others are rip-offs. No. EDIT: For some addition, I really don't care about slight quality issues. Only major misprints.
  25. I'm sorry sir, but right now if you read, we're talking about those pictures right above you! Have no fear, they will be summer sets. They come around here in July, but some places consider August part of Fall.
