  1. Absolutely stunning MOC. I saw this on BB yesterday and spent quit some time looking at the images. It's really awesome. Love to see some WIP shots if you have some. Thanks for sharing ... And well done.
  2. Really great stuff .... well done
  3. I feel dirty just reading that article. What dribble .... and on a side note why all the hate for Shell. I'm sure almost all of those people signing that petition have used a Shell product in their time.
  4. Really nice work .... well laid out. The additions feel very official LEGO - which is cool. And the custom figures top it off. That would be lots of fun to have on display and look at it (and show it off). well done and thanks for the share !!
  5. DJ's sale - I think I saw Sunday 4th.
  6. Are there any deals at David Jones ?? Was trying to get a fairground mixer ... But for a bit cheaper than the $199.99 Thanks.
  7. Palace Cinema has been $199 since launch.
  8. Thanks for the tip. Shame the shop is a letdown, but I wasn't planning on buying too much anyways.
  9. Was the shop the disappointment or the actual park. I'm in Singapore at thrones if the year and was thinking of taking my son there (he'll be 5). But is it worth the trip there ??
  10. Helpful Myer story - good work. You could also try shopforme.com.au. They've dropped the SeaCow by 20%.
  11. Somewhat related .... For anyone in the NY area what are my chances of finding the Hobbit sets (namely Mirkwood Army and Spiders) at the Rockefeller store in the coming weeks ?? Iodised these here in Australia at retail - but hoping I can find them in the US. Thanks.
  12. Very cool. Can't wait to see the Ice Cream truck, and I like how you did the taping up - nice touch.
  13. Tried Myer at Carindale (Brisbane) no TLM kits out at the moment. Had one very disappointed 4 year old (and AFOL) who left empty handed.
  14. Can we go easy on dragonau about his Simpsons CMF post. He's been a great contributor to this thread in recent months, I thought the critism had been in jest, but there has been quite a few follow up posts. He does a great job posting Aussie news - let's give him a mulligan on that post. Now back to sales news .....
  15. Jumping off topic - but this IS Australia related news /comment. Just read LEGO movie tops box office for 2nd week in a row. Thanks WB and LEGO for NOT allowing Australia to participate in this, for another 2 months. It's actually harder than I thought to avoid spoilers / etc for this movie. Again thanks WB & LEGO.
  16. While I agree pricing seems unfair there is one thing which is pointed out - sales tax / GST. The Aussie price includes our 10% GST (so it's actually $354 + $35 in GST). If you go to place like NY there's a sales tax - somewhere around 8%. So the US$250 becomes US$270. Still a big difference, but not quite as bad. If you then factor in the AUD/USD or AUD/EUR exchange rate the differential again gets a little better. I'm not trying to defend the difference - just a few pointers I encountered when I bought some LEGO in NY once (and NY LEGO stores had their own markup on RRP too!!).
  17. I'd say your chances are next to Zero. I remember holding out hope of finding the original Millienium Falcon - and I too hoped for a country store. But had no luck. But best of luck anyway - maybe look for second hand kits, should get a decent drop in price once the kits been opened
  18. Sweet indeed. Thanks Target (and posters for letting us know).
  19. I've bought from them - used the delivery option. I was in Melbourne on holidays and saw their store, and yes it's on Lygon street. Not a cafe though, just a store full of LEGO. Cool looking shop - unfortunately it was shut.
  20. Target Buranda and Springwood had nothing new. Some Hobbit kits were there. I'm thinking the shelves get stocked tomorrow !!!
  21. Anyone had any luck in Brisbane with finding a Target with the new DC kits ??? It would also be great if they added them to their website before Wednesday (whilst 25% off is running).
  22. Hi. Was wondering if anyone had set 6866 that they would like to offload? I do live in Brisbane, Australia and am hunting this set for my boy's birthday. I'm ok for either MIB or loose (though if loose preferable that it's not too rough'd up :)) Thanks in advance.
  23. Answering my own question here - 30% off LEGO at DJ's running December 26 & 27. My local (Carindale had been decimated .... particularly the Modulars). Thanks for the heads up yesterday on this. Managed to score the Cinema.
  24. Any news if the DJ's 30% off sale is still running today ?? That Palace Cinema deal was very good.
  25. Yes the $250 is steep - shame you didn't ask a week ago when they had their sale going. Though there's a good chance they'll do another 20% off LEGO before Christmas - then swoop. Mine's on ice till Xmas day - promised the boys we'd build it then. It's a good looking kit - though I think the minifigures is the big selling point
