  1. Awesome! Congratulations on winning! It seems like the monster can light up, do you have a picture of that?
  2. Impressive army That must have been a lot of work to make. I don't know enoug about uniforms to recognize all the different types of soldiers but I'm sure you made them accurate. Personally I'm not sure about the plumes on the hats as they look a bit too non-LEGO, but I guess that's just personal taste.
  3. Congratulations! It's an awesome display! Great buildings, great ships and lots of action The monkey island is nice and the monkey rock rocks as well! I also like the monster. You can't really see what it is, which adds to the mystery around such a creature. I'm in awe.
  4. Great mortar design! Very clever to use a barrel there. I've never seen one in that particular colour. The yellow lanterns are nice as well. Never seen that before either. Perhaps on a future ship you could make the shrouds of the main mast go further astern (covering the 3rd cannon). But you probably have a reason for why you haven't done so yet [bloggedcp][/bloggedcp]
  5. Nice review. Good pictures and enough information. I've added it to our index. If you like reviewing and you're planning to make more, you might want to check out the Reviewers Academy
  6. True. I contacted him as well. I'll try it one more time. Or at least I will inform him about this thread and the blog article.
  7. 8 Birthdays! That's quite a lot! Congratulations to all of you! Enjoy your cake, drinks, presents, LEGO, etc.
  8. Frank Brick Wright, good that you're willing to change your attitude. Too many bricks can't be a true complaint, nor is it constructive criticism because what's the point of reducing the number of bricks when you need a large number of bricks for a certain beautiful technique? As for the stability, that might indeed be an issue because I fear that the spanker sail yard will bend when you attach a large sail to it. But most of the models you see in museums don't have sails so he could just leave it at this and then it would be a perfect model. I don't mind if you continue the debate about criticism via the Personal Message system That might look better, but I believe that in terms of accuracy (such as placement of the masts) there's not much that Anders T can change as he made it very close to the original plans:
  9. Wonderful! You haven't been on this forum for quite a while, and then suddenly Bam! An entire fleet! The wings at the headrails, the use of these hulls and all the different types of ships are great! I especially like the bomb ketch. Very original The chain from mast to bowsprit is nice and I wonder what the cannon looks like. Can't wait to see more pictures! Now I'm going to need a lot of time for indexing purposes
  10. Great! I like the colour and the flintlock also turned out nicely! It's quite detailed and accurate yet still rough enough to make it look like official LEGO pieces. [bloggedcp][/bloggedcp] I think this topic should get the attention it deserves
  11. Nice! Especially the shot at 1:19 is awesome. You could make a great scene with that, like here at 1:32. I also like the fancy disco lights in the cabin. There could be great parties going on in there
  12. Nice ship. Is it based on any real ship? I'm sorry though but your image is too large. The max. allowed here is 600X800 pixles. Please resize the image and you'll be free to deeplink it. I've changed it into a normal link now. And finally, could you end your sentences properly, with a dot?
  13. Very nice ship. Realistic colourscheme and rigging whilst still keeping it purist. The dark tan is a nice touch as well. I do have two small suggestions for improvement though. The bow of the lifeboat was usually pointed into the same direction as the ship's bow. And the spanker sail was usually attached to the top yard, not the bottom one. But it will be blogged nevertheless [bloggedcp][/bloggedcp]
  14. I had a look and I know what you did wrong. All your links were like the following: http://http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/F14tombrick/Golden-Falcon/ship-remodel/image5.jpg So they all had a double http:// I fixed this, but then I realized that your images are too large. Our maximum is 800X600 pixles. If you could fix that you can post them all here. Good luck!
  15. [pid][/pid] 147C EDIT: Updated with final picture: I'd like to have your attention for the following: the Danish navy brig made by Anders T. Even though it's small, it's one of the best ship MOCs I've ever seen, full of interesting new techniques. Sometimes when you're seeing a MOC you ask yourself the question "is this really LEGO?". Same here. So without further ado: More pictures can be found on his MOCpages. [bloggedcp][/bloggedcp]
  16. You're making good progress! Awesome that you're making the masts modular! The brown 1x1 round bricks around the mast are a nice detail too. I also like how you attached the shrouds, but wouldn't it look better to use 2 "deadeyes" for each rope? That's a difficult question. I'm not sure about the interior. I think that the rebuilding depended a bit on the type of the captured ship. For example, this is HMS Surprise before her capture (so L'Unité), and the discription says the following: On the other hand, I've heard of a captured Dutch ship of about 50 cannons which was rebuilt to carry about 64 guns in order to make her strong enough to fight in the line of battle. But I think the usual change was just replacing cannons (the British preferred heavy, short range guns), perhaps repainting the ship, and adjusting the name. I don't think they changed the entire interior, but I'm not 100% sure..
  17. Nice curvature in the gunline, great design and I really like dark tan deck. I do think that the ladder is a bit strange though since you can't reach it easily. [bloggedcp][/bloggedcp]
  18. Can't believe I missed this! Happy Birthday Admiral Big Cam! I stumbled accross this image which combines your love for beer, nautical stuff and Star Wars:
  19. I'm impressed! This is extremely realistic and you clearly spend a lot of time on even the smallest details The sails are beautiful with those ropes on the edges, the crow's nests are very smart and realistic, and the shape, colourscheme and especially the stern are great as well. Even the black beams are visible next to the side windows I also have a small nitpicking point though. Compared to another image from the Golden Hind, somehow the bow on your ship looks a bit too stump. If it were made this way it could have looked a bit smoother. But as I said that's just a very small point and this is one of the best ships ever that I've seen around here! Well done!
  20. Very nice! Of course the concept was great already but this ship just looks very promising. I really like the interior details like the sword and pistol holders, and the pig place. The archer's stuff seems a bit outdated though, on the other hand, the yellow gunline seems a bit too modern. But perhaps yellow wouldn't be an impossible colour. At least it doesn't look bad Keep it up!
  21. [pid][/pid] 132B Our News Scout did a good find a while back. It's the ship Grim Reaper by MOCPages-member Morthen P. This ship took him 300 hours to build and it looks quite interesting with all those trans-red parts. The blackness and skulls on the gunport hatches give it a rather macabre look as well. Time for some pictures! Check out more pictures on his MOCpages account! [bloggedcp][/bloggedcp]
  22. Now I get it! I hadn't taken notice of the fact that you were able to do so. I guess you have the powers since you've become the Admiral? Yet another crewmember to be aware of when I'm making idiot comments due to the rum
  23. Ah yes of course! And whoever gave the title, I'm happy he preferred it over your other suggestion
  24. Great ship! Small but very detailed and close to the original But could you please resize your pictures? Our max. allowed is 600X800 pixles. (if you don't know how to, there are tutorials in my signature) Thanks in forward!
  25. [His Croissant is going green!] I got this on the day I became a Fellow.. [Late to the party]...which was rather late according to some fellow Fellows. By the way, it's my first title ever without the word "croissant" in it!
