LEGO Star Wars 2016 Pictures and Rumors
LegoFjotten replied to Brickdoctor's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Sooo... The Battle of Endor, 14 or 15 minifigs in a $99 set? Geononis Arena Battle with a gazillion figs? Color me not convinced. -

Battle packs look decent, will get the carbon chamber (even though I'm getting depressed thinking about how awesome it could have been). Hopefully the Ugnauth mould will be reused at some point. The TFA set looks like it will have some nice (reasonably generic) figs, and the imperial logo on the crates in the speeder set looks good. Anyone else notice the turret in the Hoth set looks familiar? It is almost identical to the one in the Battle of Hoth mini-movie, just a few extra curved slopes on the sides near the top. -
Brilliant work as usual Vitreolum! Love it!

Disney Collectible Minifigures Series 1 Discussion
LegoFjotten replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Licensed
Yeah, I think Jack Skellington is way too cool for Disney CMF unfortunately. My bet (and I hope I'm wrong) is that we will get pretty much only mainstream characters. I'll be surprised if we get a single somewhat obscure character. But again, hope I'm wrong...- 4,155 replies

Glad to see the windows are indeed dark blue! I think the set looks great all around, good builds, good figs. IMO we couldn't really hope for anything better than this for an IDEAS set at that price point / size.
-
Could it be the video was produced with a non-final version of the Tardis? The window in Dark Blue is a new color, right? I does ruin the look quite a bit if it is in regular blue.

That means there will be no set reveals at BrickCon right? LEGO still have some unveiling to do this year, at least the Dr. Who set if nothing else.

My guess would be no, rather a somewhat simplified/smaller version. I'll still love my Ecto-1 even if there is a new version in this set. As for precedence, I don't think it affects the D2C sets too much what other regular sets have been/will be released; IMO a D2C set will always be able stand on it's own in terms of content and figures even if it means repeat (or slightly altered) figs & vehicles. Look at the Simpsons House for example, no way they would have released that without the whole family even if all the figs appear in very similar form in the CMF line. Same for the CMF line, it would make no sense to not have the whole family as part of that series. -
The "very big set" is definitely not a $250 Hoth Echo Base. Do we know the big set is a SW set? The Ghostbusters set certainly sounds big at 4600+ parts...

I think there will be an Ecto-1 version in the set. Would be strange releasing a set that big/expensive where you have to buy another set to get the car. -

What? Availability on S@H for D2C have been good ever since I came out of my dark ages. Sure, they can run out of stock and take a little while to produce more sets, but IMO there is zero risk of not being able to get a set within it's lifespan. No need to buy at inflated prices elsewhere. -
I guess it's up to me to disagree then. I don't think it's the UCS set we saw in that video, because: 1) LEGO knows better than to slip up and accidentally reveal a UCS set in such a video. 2) What was shown in the video did not look very UCS like. The builds are not substantial enough (and I'm not talking about piece count, there are plenty of pieces in the video). I also think the set will stand on it's own character wise, meaning all the key characters will be there - Luke, Han, Leia, along with some generic troops and hopefully some more obscure characters.

The Snowspeeder is one of my favourite SW ship designs, I would not mind a UCS remake at all. -

Indeed Emmi & jaesroe, there are plenty of small sets - no need to skimp on the D2C sets, we want huge impressive sets that are highly detailed and fun to build. -

The headquarters is such an obvious set once you have the license, not really fair to say LEGO stole it from Ideas IMO. Still, I totally understand if the original creator of the Ideas project is a bit disappointed. -

Another battlepack with frowntroopers? Nooooo! Made me think of this quote: "I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced." ―Obi-Wan Kenobi -

Wow, I did not see that one coming... Price point & piece count doesn't really compute for me at the moment, but I'm really looking forward to seeing it. -
That is only when they make a mistake and don't flag licensed parts correctly. As soon as they notice it those parts are gone too. I've seen it once for one of the Hobbit sets. From the FAQ: http://service.lego.com/nb-no/helptopics/replacement-parts/replacing-minifigures

They don't sell licensed fig parts on Pick-a-brick unfortunately.

One questions on the racers sets, do they contain full figures? I seem to recall that at one point there was talk of figs without legs. -

Very nice MOC, I like the squid and the action feel of the scene!

Thank you again for all your nice comments, much appreciated! As it turns out, I did actually win the competition! Somewhat to my surprise since Rolli made this awesome Captain Hook MOC for the competition:http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=113411&hl= (Shameless plug) If you like the moc don't be afraid of liking it on Flickr too! https://www.flickr.com/photos/100114564@N06/20159505328/in/dateposted-public/

The bulk of this was built some time ago, found it in my drawer, did a few tweaks and here it is. On Flickr: https://flic.kr/p/xj5yL5

That file works. I took a look at it and to me it looks like it might be rounding errors since the whole section is angled down. Did a quick test removing the down angle, but still couldn't get it to behave correctly. You might need to do like NathanR suggest and rebuild that section keeping everything level and at 90 degrees, and then angle down and swing the side into position at the end. Sorry I couldn't be more help.
