Suddenly realised that General Merrick will be released with that horrible new helmet! Absolutely ruins my pilot collection :(

Those Rebel Pilot helmets look absolutely horrible :( Thank god I can still use my Luke Red 5 and old Biggs helmet. There is no way Lego will replace all the variants they have produced with these atrocious new helmets. Very disappointing and annoying!

This Y-wing looks roughly 75 studs long, putting it at 4.7 studs/meter (for comparison the UCS Falcons are 3.0s/m). The 2004 version was longer at 66cm / 82.5 studs, but had over-sized nacelles.

I am suspicious that the Solo MF may have suffered from the change in Director and reshoots. Mild spoiler.... According to EW, the droid in the trailer is called L3-37 and is played by Phoebe Waller-Bridge. This droid is Lando's co-pilot. I suspect the droid was redesigned and renamed from DD-3D, but LEGO already had the set designed.

If Mimban is anything like it was portrayed in the old EU, it will be a misty, humid jungle world with a very turbulent atmosphere. Interestingly, early concept art for R1 used Mimban as a setting, before Jedha was developed to replace it. The Imperial Patrol BP looks like an excellent Army Builder :)

I think it is interesting that both spin-off movies, R1 and Solo, have given us a great selection of affordable sets. Whereas the Sequel Saga films sets have been lacking somewhat.

So the new Star Wars: Battlefront 2 videogame has it's problems, but it adds a lot of nice touches to the Star Wars Universe. We see a lot more of the inside of a Rebel Alliance Cruiser and the crew on board. I noted that the Rebellion Officers wore a light blue cap to match their undershirt. Just to let you know, if you live in the UK, the 2018 sets are in TRU, John Lewis and Forbidden Planet.

My original version (posted in February) only had a single functioning 40-tooth gear / gearbox arrangement per wing. However, this was not stable long-term (one side collapsed after a week). Therefore, I doubled the number of gearboxes to eight in total when I developed the instructions. I played around with linking the gearboxes together. However, the UCS Lambda’s are mounted in series (two per wing) whereas mine are mirrored (just like the wings are). I see @gregorski904 has modified the forward wings to be in series (the gear housings are reversed). But I did not want my instructions to contain four different wing builds. Two is bad enough to repeat twice! If I had scrapped the cargo bay and aft cockpit, there would be plenty room for a larger and sturdier gearbox assembly. However, the space available was exactly right for the UCS Lambda configuration. The model is 70cm (length) 56cm (height) 38cm (width). Standing with it on bathroom scales gives me 4.9kg I find it best to move the shuttle by firmly holding the orange section on each side underneath the side cylinders - do not hold it by the cylinders alone!

Some images of the Bandai 1/350 scale AT-M6 appeared yesterday. Might be useful for design work. Once again, Bandai manage to pack more detail into a pocket model that Revell do with their light and sound versions

The box art for the Sandspeeder suggests the Rebels are fighting moisture vaporators and dastardly snakes!

I am far from certain but the chap was spot on with the Taj-Mahal, which is somewhat of a surprise re-release.

If it is true, a line-up of new versions of the Bounty Hunters and Admiral Piett would be a must.

Apparently, the chap who accurately predicted the re-release of the Taj-Mahal set has stated the SSD will be re-released in 2018!
