  1. I was just about to make that comment regarding the Indy head similarities. It's a shame, as most of my flesh heads are all going to look very similar But....the rest of the figure is great. A question to somebody more observant than myself: from the PoP figures we've seen (not sure if it's all of them or not), which ones are likely to be the "Hassasins" that are supposed to be in the cheapest set in the line? Will/Rocketbilly
  2. Really? wow. I was expecting a box for tem or something. That doesn't sound very safe to me - I'm sure there are some people who would open a bag to take the parts. I wouldn't though. But those bags are so easy to open. I'm honestly surprised at this. Thanks for answering my question. Will/Rocketbilly
  3. I'm glad you chaps are getting a chance to get these mini SW sets. Just a shame you've not got the other Mirror promo sets yet. I'm sure you'll get them soon. I'm curious, though - since these are bagged sets, how are they displayed in the shop? are they on the shelves? Will/Rocketbilly
  4. Ahh, that's a shame. I suppose if it was real we would have heard about it buy now. If TLC keeps a set secret, it's either a really big expensive one or something non-set, like a chess set or magnet pack. So I suppose that's more evidence it's fake. Still, it's a great job with the background and how they made it look like it was taken from a catalogue with that grainy effect. Will/Rocketbilly
  5. There were only three things that looked "fake" to me - The use of the trans green dishes The lack of alien and...the little "skids" underneath the set. So it's confirmed as fake then? I was hoping it was real.
  6. Happy Birthday! Hope you have a great day. And get something purple....Barney the Dinosaur or something. Or maybe that would be terrifying. I don't know! Happy Birthday anyways Will/Rocketbilly
  7. I thought it was fake at first to mainly because I was looking to BrickLink the cockpit piece used. But it looks legit now, and Ilike it. Upon clser inspection, it's a LOT bigger than I thought. If this is a catalogue scan, does that mean we'll be getting a few more scans soon? And sorry for my shoddy typing, my keyboard needs replacing rather urgently! I agree with Oky Wan Kenobi - if it's cheap enough then it'll make for a nice little parts pack if nothing else. You pretty mcuh get all of the parts you could need for a custom SP3 ship ina small set. I expect it to be about £15. Will/Rocketbilly
  8. Doesn't look like too bad a set to me, needs a villain, of course. I wonder what's int he other "pod" opposite the cockpit? lookslike there's got to be somehting under there. It's got to have some sort of special feature......right? I can't evens ee flick fires on it Nice find, though Will/Rocketbilly
  9. The whole of the "Famous Monsters" album by The Misfits. Currently dressed as the singer fromt hat album too, Michale Graves Will/Rocketbilly
  10. I too got the same amount of spares as you did. I thought Iw as special! It's a bit of an odd piece to get spare, that hub cap. Unless we were pretty lucky in getting them, and they weren't supposed to be there - when mine came tumbline out, I htought that maybe the tractor had a spare on the back that you couldn't see from the pic on the bag, but no. Weird. But a great review nevertheless - annoying, though, how the SW promo got so much attention, with several reviews, some even frontpaged. But this one's not really got much love. Will/Rocketbilly
  11. I saw this coming months ago, when the Star Wars sets were found at the same time as some of these City sets. And the fact that the Mirror didn't advertise the SW sets as "great gifts for Christmas" made me think we'd get another lot before the year was out. Shame there's no Power Miners promos though, but all in all some good sets. I hate tabloids. But love free Lego.... Looks like non-UK members suffer again. But I'm sure they'll get them sooner or later. I doubt there'll be as much of an outrage though, because these aren't SW branded. Will/Rocketbilly
  12. I agree! We badly need a Lego store in the Midlands. I have fond memories of that shop - the build a fig, the Halloween build-a-skeleton, all the pods on the walls....and once I even left a nice trail of blood near the entrance. What is it now, an Early Learning centre? in fact, I think the Early Learning Centre was next door, and they just combined the two. I used to go for a treat after my visits to the hospital. So worth the 30 minutes train journey and hours of hospital endurance Back on subject: The new impulse sents sound good, 'specially the "Mystery fig" one. I can see that being popular providing they exclude police, fire and constructin figs in favour of civilian characters. I'm actually quite looking forward to this coming wave of City sets, if only for that Smart-esque car and the possibility of getting some more promo sets. Will/Rocketbilly
  13. Thanks Yeah. I don't have any specialty TIE parts apart from the ones onmy Vader's TIE, and I don't want to salvage it. So I'm using an old bubble cockpit thing, but with the elongated look of the craft, I think it works okay, and besides, in my "story", my own expanded universe, if you will, it's my main character's ship, which he stole from the EMpire and had modified by Gungans. Random, but there you go. I'l post it soon, just waiting on a few transparent blue or red pieces, then I'll be done. Will/Rocketbilly
  14. I have two, possibly three, but I'm unsure as I can never seem to find them all in the same place at any given time Weirdly, after an accident I had a few years back in which I nearly lost my finger, I gained a sort of "claw" - combine that with medical treatment to treat bone density and I now have my own natural brick separator Kind of weird.....but I'm going back to the more traditional grey ones I own....not only are they plastic, but they save me chipping my nail polish too Seriosuly though, I do think they are great little gadgets. I even incorporated one into a MOC once. Will/Rocketbilly
  15. Thanks for all the kind help everyone, if it wasn't for all of your suggestions I'd still be scouring MOCpages and Flickr tryig to decide on a suitable design. I'll add my own twist to one of them, and hopefully make my first MOC post here. Thanks again everyone Will/Rocketbilly
  16. I like it, and the backstory, too. I really love the engine, and (cockpit colour and high level of detail aside) could pass for a proper set. Of course, for it to be even more realisitc, cover her with flick fire missiles and you're away Nice work! Will/Rocketbilly
  17. Damnit! Made me really crave chocolate now, which is bad because I've got food poisoning, so everything I eat I just.....throw back up But yes, you've seriously made me consider getting one of these trays now I've seen it used for more than ice. I bake a lot with my girlfriend, so this could be a way to ease her into my Lego hobby Great "MOC" / Recipe Oh, and I think a Lego baking index would be a great idea too! Will/Rocketbilly

    Ambush

Haha. This is surreal. If you hadn't of given captions for the pictures, then I would be terribly confused But I like it. Only thing I normally don't like is the mixing of yellow and fleshie figures, but it actually suits the surrealness of the MOC, so in this case it works Nice, funny work. A lot better than all of the Clone MOCs we so many of....not that there's anything wrong with them, they're just...so frequent. Kind regards, Will/Rocketbilly
  19. Myself! It's sort of an in-joke at college. classmates often say I look scary, and "it's not Halloween yet, Will" So I'm just gonna put a bit more makeup on than usual. Or murder someone and drag their corpse around as an accessory. Not entirely made my mind up yet. Great topic, by the way Will/Rocketbilly
  20. My first proper System sets were Western sets, I remember them fondly to this day, and even have a fair amount of the parts now. Thanks, Klaus-Deiter for this lovely petition That's me signed up kind regards, Will/Rocketbilly
  21. Wow. That thing's beautiful. And imagine it would take up a good chunk of my collection too I've often admired these UCS sets and MOCs, and the detail on those wing panels is lovely. Thanks, Dr. D! Will/Rocketbilly
  22. Wow, thata nice little craft, Palin Jax! And what an impressive fleet you have. I only have Vader's TIE and I just finished work on one of my own design too. Thanks for the inspiration Will/Rocketbilly
  23. Superb! Thanks, Dr. D, that's exactly what I was looking for. I'll take the basic structure and reinforce it with some more pieces. A blank TIE canvas Regards, Will/Rocketbilly
  24. Hmph.... Tahu is The red Star! Liking the most recent set of pics. Looks like this is it for Bionicle. Curse you Ben10! I hope to see more pics of the upcoming sets soon. Will/Rocketbilly
  25. Sorry, I should have clarified - yes, I want them to be the same size as an actual set. Is there any particular official set you suggest I look at? Thanks, Will/Rocketbilly
